My partner and I did the 7 day Rongai route in the off season. Amosi was great. They were organized, friendly, professional and responded quickly to requests and emails. The guides Baraka and Ally were awesome. They matched our pace since we were a little faster than average and even allowed us to skip a day by doing two climbs in one day for a shorter route. They organized and managed to porters really well to make it all happen but most importantly all the porters and staff got along and seemed genuinely happy. Since we changed the schedule Joseph did an awesome job communicative with Amosi to get our rides back to the hotel set up and we really didn’t have to do anything. Important to know: There are A Lot of porters/staff! We had 14 people for us two climbers. We were quite astonished since we are used to carrying our own stuff and hiking/climbing with only one guide per two climbers with no extra “staff”. While this seems to be the norm for Kilimanjaro it’s a bit odd if you are used to doing typical self supported climbing with a guide who serves only as a guide. We decided, “When in Rome” though. Overall a really fun experience.

I did a 7-day Kilimanjaro trek via the Rongai Route in December with Kilisatours and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The landscapes along the Rongai Route were breathtaking, with beautiful and constantly changing scenery at every camp. It was one of the most memorable holidays I’ve ever had. It was less crowded so it felt like absolutely exclusive. The crew was outstanding: Bakari the mountain guide, Mojo created amazing food Mama Africa, and a hardworking, friendly team of porters who supported me all the way to the summit. Thanks to them, I successfully reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and fulfilled a lifelong dream. Highly recommended!

I went on a Kilimanjaro trek with Zara Tours. The company takes care of all your needs from the beginning. I did not know much about mountain climbing and they provided me with all the information I could possibly need. I was part of a team of five other climbers supported by a crew of three guides (Shaban, Juma and Frank) nineteen porters and one chef (Walter). We used the 7 day Rongai route, which the company recommended for inexperienced climbers. Crew was very friendly and professional. Chief guide Shaban was a great, organized leader. He worked closely with the other guides to ensure that we were comfortable, fit, and climbing at a pace we could handle. The food that the chef Walter prepared was amazing. The whole crew worked hard to make the climb successful. Overall I am very impressed by the support I got from Zara tours in the whole trek and given another chance I would still opt for Zara because they give more than 100% and deliver more than their promise.
