I did the 7-day adventure. This one is worth it! It was amazing, everything was taken care of. It was nice to go to another country and have someone who already had great hotels and hostels vetted. Every place we stayed was clean and had my own room and bathroom. Packing tips: Bring a 28L bag - When you start mountain biking you have to carry everything on the hikes. That is 4 days. What I brought. -Lots of small amounts of Sols. Some places only take Sols and can’t break 50 or 100 Sols. The first hotel converted USD to Sols for me. -Swimsuit -Good bug spray -I brought a water filter and wish I brought a hydration pack (ended up just refilling the plastic bottles I bought every night by filtering the tap water) -Clothes are difficult to predict so layers. Other helpful hints you have to ask months in advance to do huayna picchu. It is worth it but time was tight. I think the average time is 2.5 hours to do. Plus you have to get yourself back to the train which is 1.5 hour hike down or the bus which is took us 45 minutes to get tickets, line, and ride down. For reference our huayna picchu entrance was at 10AM and we had to be at the bus station at 2 PM. It also is worth maybe taking an extra day or two independently or spending a couple of days in Lima. Make sure your travel insurance covers the activities you will do. Overall, I highly recommend this tour. Everything was great! You get a lot in this package.

What our customers ask about Sport Tours & Active Vacations
How do seasons affect sport tours?
Weather plays a big role in when you can enjoy different activities. Take Vietnam's hiking and kayaking tours - they're best from October to April when temperatures are a comfortable 68-77°F (20-25°C), and you'll stay at places like the Fortuna Downtown Boutique. If you're heading to Costa Rica, try to avoid the rainy season from May through November, especially for activities like rafting. For the Austrian Lakes tours, plan your trip between June and September when the 65-75°F (18-24°C) weather is perfect for biking and hiking.
What's the terrain like on sport tours?
You'll encounter all kinds of landscapes depending on where you go. Peru takes you through high Andean trails and jungle paths, while Croatia shows off its coastal roads and island routes. In Ecuador, you get a mix of everything - volcanic landscapes, Amazon rainforest, and cloud forest paths. As one traveler told us: "The biking was mostly downhill with stunning views of the Andes, while rafting sections offered grade III rapids through beautiful canyons."
How much activity time should I plan for each day?
Most days include 3-6 hours of activities, plus you'll get rest days too. In Peru, you might spend 3 hours mountain biking or 4 hours rafting. The Croatia family tours keep it lighter with 3-4 hour bike rides followed by relaxing beach time. Between activities, you can recharge at comfortable spots like Hotel La Floresta in Banos, Ecuador.
Where do you stay during sport tours?
You'll find a good mix of places to stay, from regular hotels to eco-lodges. Croatia offers smaller, family-run places like Villa Nora in Hvar. In Ecuador, you might stay at Jamu Lodge in the Amazon or treat yourself to Termas Papallacta Spa & Resort, where you can soak in natural hot springs after a day of adventure.
What kind of food do you get during activity days?
You'll get meals that keep your energy up throughout the day. On Peru's tours, expect filling breakfasts, packed lunches for the trail, and good dinners after your activities. Finland's winter tours include "7 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 7 dinners." One happy traveler mentioned: "The food was excellent and provided good energy for our activities."
What activities are usually included in sport tours?
You'll get to try lots of different activities like biking, rafting, kayaking, hiking, zip-lining, and canyoning. In Ecuador, you can raft the Jatunyacu River, bike through misty forests, and hike in Cotopaxi National Park. Croatia offers cycling past lavender fields, coastal hikes, and paddleboarding in quiet bays. Companies like Adventure Journeys and Meridien Ten provide all the gear you need.
How do tours balance activity and rest time?
You'll typically spend 4-6 hours being active each day, with plenty of breaks built in. The Costa Rica tour mixes up challenging activities like canyoning with downtime at places like Hotel Giada in Samara Beach. In Vietnam, you get full rest days between big activities, and hotels like the Costarena Beach Hotel give you comfortable places to relax. There's always time to unwind in the evenings, and some days are completely free for recovery.
