This worked very well for us. A great combination of making travel easy for us and yet leaving us with most of our time for our own plans. That was exactly what we were looking for on this trip. I loved the convenience of being picked up and dropped off between hotels, ferries, and airports. The communications were clear, everything was on time, and the drivers were all professional. The hotel choices were all decent. Pan Hotel in Athens is a bit rundown and definitely not for the mobility challenged, but the location is terrific. Paros Bay is very pretty and the staff helpful. Our room didn't have the water views most did, thanks to trees blocking the view from the first floor--but they were nice trees. We did get a good view of the hotel's laundry and an employee sanding chairs who seemed to be doing a commendable job. It was my least favorite location, but if you want an attractive and self-contained hotel, this is a good choice. It has a good bar and restaurant on the premises. The staff also arranged to have a rental car delivered to us there. Paros is lovely, and Antiparos maybe even better. Naxos was also great, and that hotel location was great. We were right in town, an easy walk to almost anything we were interested in. There's a terrific local day trip available that ran us about $30 each and covered most of the island. I'd recommend a tour over driving yourself. Those switchback mountain roads are challenging. Especially if you have to back up! And Santorini was also great. We were in a perfect small beach town in a family-run hotel near the water. The last-day boat trip was an excellent way to close out the stay. Thanks!

While this tour want not I expected (my mistake, not theirs), everything was really well organized and communicated. While the tour guides were great, Effie was especially amazing (I can only imagine my look of horror upon realizing my mistake that this was not a group tour I had envisioned), and checked in with me, even after I left Athens, answered questions and shared recommendations. I couldn't have been more grateful! The hotels were lovely and when one the boat tours got cancelled because of the weather, they seamlessly for me into a bus tour instead. Highly recommend and suggest taking the expedited ferries when possible.

What our customers ask about Island Hopping Tours & Trips
What are the most popular destinations for island hopping in Greece?
You'll find most travelers heading to Santorini, where you can explore the famous caldera and white buildings perched on cliffs. Naxos is another favorite, with beautiful beaches like Plaka and Agios Prokopios where you can relax in the sun. Mykonos rounds out the top three with its mix of beaches and lively atmosphere. One TourRadar traveler mentions "the hotels were really nice, especially in Naxos with its stunning location overlooking the sea."
What kind of experiences will I have on an island hopping tour?
You'll get to sail through Santorini's caldera on traditional wooden boats, walk up to the Nea Kameni volcano, and take a dip in natural hot springs filled with sulfur and iron. The sunset views from Oia village are a highlight for many visitors. A TourRadar traveler shares, "The sunset cruise in Santorini was unforgettable, with dinner served while anchored near Thirasia Island, followed by watching the sun set over Oia's golden-hued buildings."
Where will I stay during my island hopping tour?
You'll stay in 3 or 4-star hotels like the El Greco Resort in Santorini or the Grotta Hotel in Naxos. Regular rooms come with the basics you need, while upgraded rooms often have better views and extra amenities. A TourRadar traveler notes, "The Mykonos Bay Hotel was our absolute favorite, with beautiful beach views and incredibly friendly staff."
When should I plan my Greek island hopping trip?
Plan your trip between April and October when the weather is nicest, with temperatures between 68°F and 85°F (20°C to 29°C). If you want to avoid crowds and peak prices, skip July and August. A TourRadar traveler suggests "visiting in September when the weather is still warm but the islands are less crowded."
What can I expect from the sailing trips between islands?
You can join half or full-day boat trips, especially around Santorini's volcanic islands. Many people enjoy the Aphrodite cruise, where you'll eat dinner on board while watching the sunset near the caldera. As one TourRadar traveler says, "The wooden boat sunset cruise in Santorini, complete with dinner and local wine, provided stunning views of the volcanic islands and Oia's sunset."
Which island combinations work best for a Greek island hopping tour?
Many travelers start in Athens, then visit Mykonos and Santorini. This route gives you a mix of ancient history and famous island views. Another popular option is Zakynthos, Milos, and Santorini, where you can see Navagio Beach and unique volcanic landscapes. A TourRadar traveler shares, "the hotels were nicely located, offering incredible views of the Aegean sea and helpful staff making the island-hopping experience seamless."
What different activities can I do on each island?
Each island offers something special. In Santorini, you can explore the volcanic caldera. Zakynthos has the Blue Caves for swimming, and you can visit ancient ruins in Delphi. The white rock formations at Sarakiniko Beach in Milos look like you're on the moon, and Ios has peaceful beaches like Magganari. A TourRadar traveler notes: "Each island offered something unique - from Santorini's stunning sunsets viewed from Oia to the crystal-clear waters of Hydra's coves."
