Budget Tours to Philippines
What if you could jump from waterfalls into pools below? Kawasan Falls lets you do exactly that; it’s canyoneering at its most fun. Moalboal's Sardine Run surrounds you with thousands of fish moving as one, Boracay's beaches stretch white and wide, and Bohol's Chocolate Hills look man-made but aren't. Manila mixes Spanish history with modern chaos; it’s island life, perfected.

What people love about Budget Tours in Philippines
- 16 Days Philippines Adventure with El Nido to Coron Island expedition (Independent Tour)
This was a fantastic tour and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to travel in the Philippines with a group tour! The itinerary was extremely well planned out and the activities planned exceeded all of my expectations, we got to see all of the biggest attractions that the Philippines has to offer along with many more that would not have been possible without going with a tour group. For anyone wanting to do as much as possible in a short space of time, this is the tour for you. The fun, excitement and friendly dynamics of the group would not have been the same without the hard work of our tour guide Jovain who made sure that everything ran seamlessly. I cannot thank him enough for sharing his beautiful part of the world with us and making sure that all of us always had a smile on our faces. I picked this tour because it was one of the longest trips to the Philippines available for the best price, my only complaint is that it should have been longer! There was a great mix of organised activities and free days to relax, and I made some friends that I will stay in contact for many years to come. The accommodation as a whole was well located, clean and safe, with some nights spent beachside camping and in huts on the expedition from El Nido to Coron (bring a battery operated fan, no aircon!!!) which made the experience truly feel like an adventure. I cannot recommend it more and would do it all again in a heartbeat. Thank you DYTravel and Jovain ??
- Philippines Siargao Adventure
My trip to the Philippines was nothing short of incredible, and so much of that is thanks to our fantastic tour guide Orty. From the moment we met, he was warm, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about sharing his beautiful country with us! What stood out the most was his kindness and flexibility – always patient, always upbeat, and always ready to tailor the experience to our interests. We never felt rushed, and his attention to detail made us feel like VIPs the entire time. He is a credit to the industry and would 100% consider returning to the Philippines on a tour with him in the future!!
What our customers ask about Budget Tours to Philippines
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in Philippines?
Budget accommodations range from backpacker hostels to simple beachfront resorts. In Moalboal travelers often stay at places like Zula Beach Resort while El Nido features basic but well-located properties such as Our Melting Pot Hostel just 5 minutes from the beach. The quality varies but most places offer clean rooms with essential amenities. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The hostel in El Nido was great - super social and full of young backpackers. It was also on the main strip so there were loads of restaurants and bars."
What's the average daily budget needed for a budget tour in Philippines?
Plan to spend between 125-165 USD per day which covers lodging most meals and core activities. The Palawan Getaway represents the lower end at 126 USD daily while more extensive tours reach 165 USD. Beyond the tour cost set aside 15-20 USD per day for extra meals and 10-15 USD for optional activities and personal expenses. These estimates align with recent traveler experiences across popular destinations.
How much should I budget for local transportation?
Local transport costs remain reasonable throughout the Philippines. Daily expenses for tricycles and jeepneys in major cities like Cebu and Puerto Princesa average 5-10 USD. Island-hopping requires ferry transfers which typically cost 10-20 USD each way. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Local tricycles in El Nido cost less than 2 USD per ride while the ferry from Cebu to Bohol was around 15 USD."
What optional activities are worth the extra cost?
Several standout activities merit the additional expense. Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls costs 30 USD while El Nido island hopping runs 25 USD. Scuba diving in Moalboal averages 50 USD per dive. A TourRadar traveler recommended: "The canyoneering in Moalboal was absolutely worth the extra cost - it was the highlight of my trip with amazing waterfalls and jumping spots."
Which areas in Philippines are most budget-friendly?
Moalboal Puerto Princesa and Cebu stand out for their value. These locations offer accommodations like Zula Beach Resort starting at 30 USD nightly plus affordable local markets and reasonably priced activities. Recent travelers report finding complete meals for under 5 USD especially in local markets. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Moalboal was incredibly affordable - we could get great seafood meals for 5 USD and amazing snorkeling spots were free to access from the beach."
Are entrance fees included in budget tour prices?
Most core entrance fees come included such as the 25 USD Underground River permit in Puerto Princesa and 15 USD Kawasan Falls access. Optional add-ons like ATV rides at Chocolate Hills require extra payment though the basic 5 USD viewing fee is covered. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The tour covered all the main attraction entrance fees we just had to pay for extras like ziplines and massages."
