It was a good tour and I enjoyed it very much in a small group. The guides are different in each city but they are well trained and have a lot of knowledge, especially Mr. Sean in Samarkand. The hotels are neat and clean, very comfortable. I recommend Yurt stay even though there is no hot-water shower. Just one point I am disappointed about was the transport. We had the option to drive or train from Samarkand and Bukhara, and chose drive. It was an 8 hour drive (without visiting Shahrisabz on the way) and spent all day in the car on the bumpy road such a long time. If I knew that I would not choose the drive. I suggest to delete the drive option or explain before we chose. Anyway I guarantee you can enjoy Uzbekistan with this travel agency, Steppe Journey.

Getting around Uzbekistan is actually pretty straightforward. The high-speed Afrosiyob trains are really efficient connecting major cities like Tashkent Samarkand and Bukhara you can cover 265 kilometers in just 90 minutes which is pretty impressive. If you're heading somewhere more remote like Nukus in Karakalpakstan domestic flights are your best bet. In the cities themselves you've got plenty of options with shared marshrutkas and regular taxis that won't break the bank.
What Are the Must-Try Local Dishes and Where's the Best Place to Find Them?
The food scene in Uzbekistan is this amazing blend of Central Asian flavors. You absolutely have to try plov it's their national dish made with rice lamb onions and carrots and it's incredible. Head to the Central Asian Plov Center in Tashkent or catch a cooking demo at National House Adras in Samarkand. Don't miss out on shurpa this hearty meat and vegetable soup or manti which are these delicious steamed dumplings. You'll find all of these plus fresh non bread and aromatic green tea in traditional restaurants called chaikhanas they're everywhere and they're the perfect place to experience real Uzbek food.
