I recently completed a fantastic five-day tour of Tunisia with Tunisia Voyages. I found the company through TourRadar and truly lucked out—they exceeded every expectation. Over the course of the trip, we visited an impressive range of destinations: Hammamet, Kairouan, Tozeur, Douz, Matmata, El Djem, Sousse, Sidi Bou Saïd, Carthage, and Tunis. I especially appreciated the diversity of what we saw. Every stop offered something different, and each place was both beautiful and fascinating in its own way. Kairouan, one of the holiest cities in Islam, amazed me with its ancient medina and Great Mosque. Tozeur and Douz gave me a taste of the Sahara, with palm oases and dramatic desert landscapes. Matmata’s traditional troglodyte homes were unlike anything I’d seen before. The Roman amphitheater at El Djem—one of the best-preserved in the world—was jaw-dropping in scale. And wandering through Sidi Bou Saïd with its blue-and-white architecture felt like stepping into a postcard. Carthage offered layers of ancient history, while Tunis combined modern energy with rich cultural sites. What made the tour truly exceptional, though, was the team. My guide, Anis, and my driver, Jamal, adapted the itinerary to my interests and pace, whether I wanted to shop, linger somewhere longer, or move on quickly. I especially loved the Roman mosaics at the Bardo Museum in Tunis, so we spent extra time exploring them. I jokingly started calling Anis “the professor,” because his knowledge of Tunisia’s history and culture felt endless. Both he and Jamal were not only skilled at their jobs, but also genuinely warm, thoughtful, and fun to be around. I have only good things to say about Tunisia Voyages—the tour was perfect. My only complaint is that it went by far too quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-organized, engaging introduction to Tunisia. I truly hope I’ll have the chance to return to this beautiful country again.

I booked my Tunisia UNESCO Tour in advance, and even before I arrived in had decided to do a '3day add on' to see even more ancient sights... I thank tour director Aymen for coordinating everything, flexible billing options and working out all the details before arriving: He really put together a memirable trip... My extra ordinary tourguide Hamdi met me at the airport, and in the course of 12 days drove me to see many, many remarkable ancient Roman & Punic sights... He was professional, extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in a fun way, easy to understand... I learned so much about this beautiful part of the world... Hotels and meals were great... People friendly and welcoming... I couldn't have had a better time and would go back in a heartbeat to experience more... David

- Spring 2026
Spring tours hit their sweet spot with temperatures between 20-25°C, making it perfect for our combined Roman ruins and desert routes. The popular 6-day discovery starts in Tunis and takes you through to Kairouan's Great Mosque with its ancient water basins. There's a nice balance here - you'll get proper time at El Djem's massive amphitheater but also free hours to explore places like Sidi Bou Said at your own pace. Our guide Sami got it exactly right according to one guest who loved his "perfect balance of information and time to enjoy the sites." Many travelers pick our 5-day option that includes the spectacular mosaics at the Bardo Museum and gives you the choice of a trek through mountain oases near Tozeur.

- Summer 2026
Summer means adapting to the heat - it can hit 40°C in Tozeur - so we focus on coastal areas and early morning desert visits. Our cultural-beach packages work really well, mixing morning tours with afternoon beach time. The Sultan Hotel in Hammamet is a favorite base, offering archery, yoga and also evening entertainment with Berber shows and music. Guests like having a comfortable spot to return to between day trips to El Jem's amphitheater, Sidi Bou Said village and other sites. We keep getting great feedback about the hotel staff - they're genuinely warm and always ready to help.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall opens up possibilities for our longer expedition-style tours - 12 days to really get to know Tunisia's different regions. You'll learn traditional rug-making in Kairouan, cook with families in Gammarth and spend nights in authentic troglodyte caves in the Dhaher mountains. These routes include special experiences like watching glass-blowers at a woman-owned workshop and getting desert survival tips from Amazigh guides. One day you're exploring Star Wars filming spots near Tozeur, the next you're making couscous in a desert camp. The mild weather means you can enjoy both Mediterranean and Sahara experiences without the summer heat.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter makes for an excellent time to discover Tunisia away from the summer crowds. Several multi-day tours cover the key sites like El Jem's amphitheater, Carthage ruins and also the thermal springs, taking full advantage of the mild temperatures. Our travelers tend to choose the 7-day classic routes, which balance morning visits to ancient ruins with relaxed afternoons wandering traditional markets. The desert camps near Douz stay at comfortable temperatures during this season, perfect for camel treks and visiting Star Wars filming locations without the intense desert heat. All-inclusive stays in Hammamet work particularly well for winter visitors, combining pool time with cultural day trips to UNESCO sites, complete with included activities like yoga, archery and also evening shows. Northern European visitors often opt for the 2-week beach packages, as they provide a warm escape from harsh winters while offering optional excursions to experience Tunisia's rich heritage.
