Bhutan Tours & Trips
Picture yourself flying over the Himalayas to the magical city of Paro, and visiting the historic Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu, where Bhutan's government meets in style. Hike up to the Buddha Dordenma statue that looks out over the valley, see the old Punakha Dzong at the point where two rivers meet, and trek to the famous Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliff 3,000 feet above the valley floor.

We took the Best of Bhutan tour in March 2026. The tour was perfectly executed from the booking, visa issuance, communication and through to the actual tour itself. We were guided by the lovely, knowledgeable and spiritual Tenzin and driven by skilled and polite Chencho. What a team! Bhutan is gorgeous and special. It is a must for any traveller. I actually found myself more at peace with world after visiting Thimphu, Punakha and Paro. We really enjoyed the variety on this trip. I wished we had stayed longer. You will be well looked after by this World Tour Plan and the Bhutanese people.

It was "It can't get better than this" kind of experience. Both my guide and my driver made sure that I am getting what I would like. They had genuine concern for my needs and are committed to me having a great trip in Bhutan. Their sincerity and care really spoke through their actions. I was a solo traveler and the details of my itinerary got adjusted daily to suit my needs. I was very fortunate to have those two ladies show me the beauty of Bhutan since they themselves are the beauty of Bhutan in the ways they let me experience the culture.

Bhutan was on my Bucket List - Nobu and Nedup from Bhutan Acorn made my stay absolutely perfect and memorable. I am used to travelling alone but since this is not possible for Bhutan, I had to hire an agency - wanting a more local and authentic experience (comparing to joining tours operated from Hong Kong) I trusted my trip with Bhutan Acorn. It was a decision well made and I have not regretted my choice for a second. From early communication with the agency (they are very responsive in whatsapp) to planning my own schedule (yes you can tailor make), to the actual travel experience, everything is very well organized and taken care of. The food, accommodation, transport (ie ur own car), and the daily schedule are all very decent so I could just relax and enjoy every second without worrying about a single thing. Being a solo female traveller, I felt incredibly safe and comfortable during my stay in Bhutan. Nobu (my guide) and Nedup (my driver) constantly went out of their way to make sure that i felt comfortable (and happy - they always asked me whether im happy) and for that im eternally grateful. Thank you for sharing with me your lives, your culture, your knowledge, as well as your open heart and mind. Thank you for treating me as a friend. :)

Best time to visit Bhutan
- Spring 2026
March through May fills Bhutan's valleys with rhododendron flowers. Our clients particularly enjoy taking photos at Dochula Pass during these months when clear weather shows off the Himalayan peaks. Many spring routes include easy walks through pine woods to monasteries like Tango, where you can spend time with monks surrounded by blooming trees. The mild weather works perfectly for outdoor activities like walking Punakha's suspension bridge and discovering traditional villages. Several tours line up with spring festivals where you'll see masked dancing and join local celebrations.

- Summer 2026
Summer lets you experience Bhutan's greenest season, with perfect weather for hiking and meeting locals. Our travelers often talk about walking through stepped rice fields to reach temples like Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten when the paddies shine bright green. It's also an ideal time to visit high places like Tiger's Nest Monastery, with just the right temperature for the uphill walk. Many summer routes stop at local markets to try seasonal produce, and visit farmhouses where families are busy with their traditional farming work.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
September through November trips are favorites for mountain views and comfortable hiking conditions. Our guests often mention autumn's colors in Bumthang Valley and the crystal-clear views from Dochula Pass. The weather's perfect for longer walks on the Trans Bhutan Trail sections, where you'll meet villagers getting ready for winter. Many fall tours visit Buddhist festivals and monasteries, joining morning prayers and learning about harvest customs. The mild temperatures work well for exploring both valley dzongs and mountain temples.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter visits to Bhutan bring something really unique, especially in Phobjikha Valley where black-necked cranes make their home from November through March. Our guests love watching these rare birds at the Royal Society for Protection of Nature center and exploring the valley paths on foot. Without summer crowds, you can take your time at cultural landmarks like Punakha Dzong. Many travelers tell us about their joy seeing snow fall while walking through small villages, and trying out traditional hot stone baths that locals use to stay warm. Winter trips usually spend extra hours inside Thimphu's craft workshops and museums, plus evening stays at farmhouses where families welcome you to help prepare Bhutanese meals by the fireplace.
