We recently completed our Bhutan trip and had a really wonderful experience throughout the journey. Everything was very well organized and smooth from start to finish. Special thanks to Parvati for always being helpful and making sure every arrangement was perfect. We also want to thank Zoom Holidays, the Bhutan partner of Yoganshi Travel, for their excellent hospitality and support during the tour. The guide, driver, hotels, and sightseeing arrangements were all amazing and made our trip truly memorable. Bhutan is such a peaceful and beautiful destination, and thanks to the entire team for giving us such unforgettable memories.

Excelent guide and tour
- Bhutan In-depth Culture & Nature Tour
Acorn Travel Bhutan provided my family with an excellent guide and driver. The guide (Norbu) was extremely knowledgable regarding Bhutanese culture, the Bhuddist philosophy and bird identification. Our driver (Kinley) was also excellent providing us with safe and relaxed transportation. The guide and driver made for a superlative team, always on time and willing to be flexible to take us off the itinerary whenever we requested. A huge thank you to Karma at Acorn Bhutan travel and Tour Radar for coordinating the trip. The only snafu was negotiating a transfer through Delhi which required a transit visa inspite of online informatioin to the contrary that states a visa is not necessary if you are staying at the Delhi Holiday Inn airport hotel for less than 24 hours. The online visa application is confusing and difficult to complete. My advice is to skip Delhi altogether as the bureaucracy is intolerable and the agents at the airport are difficult. Find an easier route.

Tours in Bhutan offer a range of places to stay from modern hotels to local family homes. You'll find 3-4 star hotels as your standard accommodation with options like the upscale Taj Tashi in Thimphu. Some tours include stays with local families in places like Bumthang Valley where you can experience daily Bhutanese life. Most hotels including Zhingkham Resort in Punakha provide single rooms though this often comes with an extra cost. The western region of Bhutan works best for solo travelers. This area includes Paro Thimphu and Punakha where you'll find good tourist facilities and regular group tours. Key sites here include Tiger's Nest Monastery and Punakha Dzong. Hotels like Tashi Namgay Resort in Paro offer reliable comfort and service. Previous guests often mention the area's accessibility: "The western circuit felt very safe and welcoming for solo travelers with plenty of other tourists and excellent guides."
How safe is Bhutan for solo travelers joining guided tours?
Bhutan stands out as one of Asia's safest travel spots. The country's low crime rates and Buddhist values that emphasize helping others make it especially secure for visitors. As one traveler put it: "As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe throughout the journey our guide was extremely protective and professional."
