Cappadocia's magic lived up to our expectations, and this tour delivered. Excellent communication from booking to transfers kept us informed throughout. While the hot air balloon cancellation was disappointing (understandably beyond anyone's control), the tour itself showcased Cappadocia's winter beauty wonderfully. Our guide's passion for the region's history shone through in his engaging storytelling. The cave hotel was exceptional: a spacious, comfortable triple room with enchanting lighting, and a luxurious bathroom featuring a heated floor and bathtub – perfect for relaxing after our journey. Though the hotel involves some rocky stairs (assisted by a lift), the staff were incredibly helpful with luggage, both on arrival and departure. The 4 AM pickup was early, but the included in-flight snacks were a nice touch. Plus, the generous 25kg checked luggage allowance was a definite plus for our longer trip. Highly recommended!

The 2 day Gallipoli & Troy tour was excellent. First we were picked up from our hotel, which made everything much easier if you don't know Istanbul. The tour made it possible for us to visit the keys sites at Gallipoli and to tour the ancient city of Troy. The included ferry trips were a bonus and our waterfront accomodation at Cannakale exveeded expectations. It was quite a bit of travelling but a fantastic trip and very good value for money

What our customers ask about Istanbul Tours & Trips
What are the must-visit historical sites in Istanbul?
The essential historical circuit includes the Hagia Sophia which stands as one of history's architectural triumphs surpassed in size only by the Egyptian Pyramids at the time of its construction. The Blue Mosque's six minarets pierce the skyline while the Topkapi Palace reveals 400 years of Ottoman imperial grandeur. The Grand Bazaar presents a labyrinth of 4,000 shops through 18 entrances where visitors can experience local commerce traditions. A TourRadar traveler noted "The historical sites in Istanbul were fascinating and our guide's deep knowledge made each place even more interesting." The Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel offers convenient access to these landmarks.
What's the best time of year to visit Istanbul?
Spring months of April and May along with fall months of September and October provide ideal conditions for exploring Istanbul. The moderate temperatures create perfect conditions for wandering through outdoor sites like the Hippodrome and Topkapi Palace gardens. Visitors should note that Ramadan dates change yearly and can affect site hours. Travel data shows October brings peak visitor numbers particularly in the Sultanahmet area where most historical attractions cluster.
Which neighborhoods in Istanbul are best for first-time visitors to stay in?
First-time visitors will find the Sultanahmet district and Beyoglu/Taksim areas most accessible. These central locations host hotels like the Recital Hotel in Sultanahmet and Antea Hotel in the Old City putting major sites within walking distance. A TourRadar guest noted "The Celal Sultan Hotel's location was perfect - walking distance to Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar." These neighborhoods blend historical attractions dining options and shopping while offering easy access to public transit.
What's the best way to experience the Bosphorus in Istanbul?
Bosphorus cruises offer unmatched perspectives of Istanbul's waterfront landmarks including Ottoman palaces bridges and shorelines of both continents. Many boat tours include stops at Dolmabahce Palace and Rumeli Fortress. Evening cruises prove especially popular with visitors. As one TourRadar traveler shared "The Bosphorus cruise showed us another side of Istanbul - seeing the city lit up at night while passing historic mansions and modern bridges was unforgettable."
How much should I budget per day for sightseeing in Istanbul?
Plan for 150-200 USD daily per person to cover meals entrance fees and transportation around Istanbul. Entry to Hagia Sophia costs 25 USD while Topkapi Palace charges 50 USD. A TourRadar visitor noted: "The Museum Pass Turkey for 165 USD was worth it for accessing multiple sites." Hotels like Celal Sultan typically include breakfast reducing daily expenses.
How many days should I plan to spend in Istanbul for a comprehensive visit?
Three to four days allows visitors to explore Istanbul's main attractions without rushing. Major sites like Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace require half-day visits while the Grand Bazaar and Spice Market deserve a full day of exploration. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our three days in Istanbul were packed but gave us enough time to see all the major sites without feeling rushed." Hotels like the Nidya Hotel Galataport in the Sultanahmet district provide strategic positioning for efficient sightseeing.
