10 Day Safari
Think ten days is the sweet spot for African safari? Popular combinations include Tanzania's northern circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire), Kenya's Masai Mara and Amboseli, or Botswana's Okavango and Chobe. Ten days means proper wildlife viewing time, experiencing various ecosystems, enough game drives that you'll likely see the full spectrum of African wildlife doing their thing.

Reviews of 10 day Safari Tours
- 9 Days Best of Kenya and Uganda Gorilla Safari
The first thing that made me more intrested in these tour is the Gorillas in Uganda, i have heard about them and how close and candid you get with them. And then i found thesetour, a mix of Kenya and Uganda, and didnt think again, these is the best combination of Kenya and Uganda.
- 9-Days Budget safari in the wild including 2 nights in Serengeti and 3 days in Zanzibar.
My sister and I took my children (ages 4 & 9) on a two week safari with African Polecat Safaris in northern Tanzania. It was the trip of a lifetime. Our hearts and minds were blown open by the people, culture, wildlife, history, art, and landscapes of Tanzania. This safari team was outstanding. The logistics and quality of the tour were excellent. Our guide and chef were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and experienced. They were also wonderful with the kids. We all have so many special memories from our adventures. We chose this safari company because we wanted our money to go directly to Tanzanians. This company is owned and operated by locals, as are their vendors and partners. We recommend them highly!
- 8 Days Kenya & Tanzania Group Camping Safari with Complimentary First Night Accommodation at After 40 Hotel and Free Airport Pick up.
Sammy was an amazing driver for the Kenya portion. The campsite had "tents" that were basically buildings with fabric over them, so you're definitely not roughing it! Very nice facilities and right next to Maasai Mara. Sammy helped is with whatever we needed, and we did the Maasai village visit, which was worth it. We saw a ton of animals and even a chase and kill, which is very rare! And for Tanzania, Anwar was a wonderful driver along with Ismael and Freddy as cooks. We saw the big 5 at 3 very unique parks, had fun camping and helping set up the tent, and even got to see lions mating...again, very rare! Campgrounds were much nicer than I expected. All transportation was smooth (shout-out to "Black Santa" for being so friendly and helping us with our Tanzania visa and to cross the border). We didn't have to think of anything; just enjoyed the trip! The company was also very quick to respond and understanding and flexible with us when we struggled with our visa and had to postpone a few days. I would 100% recommend this company and this particular tour for an amazing safari!
What our customers ask about 10 Day Safari
What are the most popular destinations for 10-day safari tours?
The most visited spots include Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire National Park. In Kenya, you'll explore the Masai Mara, Amboseli National Park with its views of Kilimanjaro, and Lake Nakuru where pink flamingos dot the shoreline. A TourRadar traveler describes their Kenya experience: "We saw a lioness trying to catch a gazelle and a mother gazelle saving her baby from a jackal. We saw many animals lounging and crossing the road in front of us."
When is the best time to go on a 10-day safari?
For the best wildlife viewing, plan your trip between June and October during the dry season. The Serengeti migration peaks from July to September. You can expect daytime temperatures around 75°F (24°C) and nights around 50°F (10°C). Pack some warm layers - the Ngorongoro Crater gets quite chilly in the early mornings, sometimes dropping to 41°F (5°C).
What wildlife will I see during my safari?
You'll likely spot the "Big Five" - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo - plus countless other animals. During migration season, the Serengeti and Masai Mara fill with huge herds of wildebeest and zebras. One TourRadar traveler shares: "Musa was amazing at tracking - we managed to see over 70 lions, hundreds of elephants, thousands of zebras and wildebeest and many other different animals. The wildlife viewing exceeded all our expectations."
How long are the daily game drives?
You'll spend about 4-6 hours per day looking for wildlife, usually split between early morning and late afternoon when animals are most active. Morning drives start around 6:30 AM, and afternoon drives begin about 3:30 PM and go until sunset. Some places, like Mara Sopa Lodge, also offer night drives where you can spot nocturnal animals.
