Budget Tours to Philippines
What if you could jump from waterfalls into pools below? Kawasan Falls lets you do exactly that; it’s canyoneering at its most fun. Moalboal's Sardine Run surrounds you with thousands of fish moving as one, Boracay's beaches stretch white and wide, and Bohol's Chocolate Hills look man-made but aren't. Manila mixes Spanish history with modern chaos; it’s island life, perfected.

Your review Nic 17 reviews · 10 photos a week ago One of the best experiences of my life! Do you Travels' 16 day Adventure Tour was most definitely one huge adventure! The itenary is well thought out and covers alot of the Phillipines most beautiful attractions and coolest activities, though I'm sure the Sardine run could be added in ;) Jovain is the best tour guide I've ever had the pleasure of travelling with. Him and our entire group will now be life long friends, despite the age gaps! I'm so thankful for Jovains help beyond the tour too ?? For those who aren't cut out for down and dirty travel, I suggest you read the itenary closely. As we had 1 guest who almost ruined it for everyone with her negative outlook and 5 star living/ 1st world expectations, thankfully she ended up leaving. The Port Barton camping and Palawan Island Hopping Expedition were a huge highlight for me, along with the 3 optional ziplines and canyoneering but honestly it's so hard to put a favourite on so many amazing memories! I'm definitely one very satisfied traveller that's for sure ?
- Philippines Siargao Adventure
Had the best trip with Orty as the tour leader! Couldn’t fault him in the way he led the trip and the extra activities he added into the itinerary. Was very accommodating to food restrictions!
- West Philippines Classic 10 Day - One Life Adventures
Jet was a great guide with a very chill demeanor. The trip did a nice job including some major sights and adjusting as needed based on weather and crowds. Overall a great trip.
What our customers ask about Budget Tours to Philippines
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in Philippines?
Budget accommodations range from backpacker hostels to simple beachfront resorts. In Moalboal travelers often stay at places like Zula Beach Resort while El Nido features basic but well-located properties such as Our Melting Pot Hostel just 5 minutes from the beach. The quality varies but most places offer clean rooms with essential amenities. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The hostel in El Nido was great - super social and full of young backpackers. It was also on the main strip so there were loads of restaurants and bars."
What's the average daily budget needed for a budget tour in Philippines?
Plan to spend between 125-165 USD per day which covers lodging most meals and core activities. The Palawan Getaway represents the lower end at 126 USD daily while more extensive tours reach 165 USD. Beyond the tour cost set aside 15-20 USD per day for extra meals and 10-15 USD for optional activities and personal expenses. These estimates align with recent traveler experiences across popular destinations.
How much should I budget for local transportation?
Local transport costs remain reasonable throughout the Philippines. Daily expenses for tricycles and jeepneys in major cities like Cebu and Puerto Princesa average 5-10 USD. Island-hopping requires ferry transfers which typically cost 10-20 USD each way. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Local tricycles in El Nido cost less than 2 USD per ride while the ferry from Cebu to Bohol was around 15 USD."
What optional activities are worth the extra cost?
Several standout activities merit the additional expense. Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls costs 30 USD while El Nido island hopping runs 25 USD. Scuba diving in Moalboal averages 50 USD per dive. A TourRadar traveler recommended: "The canyoneering in Moalboal was absolutely worth the extra cost - it was the highlight of my trip with amazing waterfalls and jumping spots."
Which areas in Philippines are most budget-friendly?
Moalboal Puerto Princesa and Cebu stand out for their value. These locations offer accommodations like Zula Beach Resort starting at 30 USD nightly plus affordable local markets and reasonably priced activities. Recent travelers report finding complete meals for under 5 USD especially in local markets. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Moalboal was incredibly affordable - we could get great seafood meals for 5 USD and amazing snorkeling spots were free to access from the beach."
Are entrance fees included in budget tour prices?
Most core entrance fees come included such as the 25 USD Underground River permit in Puerto Princesa and 15 USD Kawasan Falls access. Optional add-ons like ATV rides at Chocolate Hills require extra payment though the basic 5 USD viewing fee is covered. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The tour covered all the main attraction entrance fees we just had to pay for extras like ziplines and massages."
