Wildlife Trekking in Indochina

Trek through wild jungle to find Beng Mealea temple reclaimed by forest, then bike 65 kilometers on dirt and sandy roads through palm-lined villages to Siem Reap. You'll see UNESCO-listed Sambor Prei Kuk spanning 25 square kilometers and ride off-road trails to Preah Khan and Ta Prohm.

Trek 4 kilometers through plantations from Ban Nong Heo to Ban Thapene village near Kuang Si Waterfalls, gaining elevation over 90 minutes, then walk forest trails to Pak Ou Caves via a 30-minute route where you'll find thousands of Buddha statues in two caverns. Climb to Vang Vieng's viewpoint at sunset for karst landscapes, then hike through rice paddies to riverside caves where farmers produce Lao Hai rice wine.

Trek from Ban Pho village to Hoang Thu Pho viewpoint for valley views, then hike through rice terraces and tea hills near Hoang Su Phi. Visit Nam Cang village to meet Dao silversmiths and watch fire dancing before staying at Hoang Su Phi Bungalow. Later, head to Panhou Retreat for the hot springs, then hike Ngu Lam Peak on Cat Ba island.

Travel through Ratanakiri's jungle by ferry, boat, and koyoun to reach isolated tribal communities, hiking 10 kilometers with 300-meter elevation gains. Spot critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphins during boat trips near Kampi in Kratie, then trek Phnom Kulen National Park to see Ta Prohm temple.

Trek 4km through Indochina's countryside from Ban Nong Heo Khmu village to Kuang Sy Waterfalls gateway, passing sugar cane plantations and rice fields. Hike 3.5km to Tad Yuang waterfall on the Bolaven Plateau and see coffee farms where locals roast beans using age-old methods, then head by Jeep through remote bamboo villages.

Your 10 km hike takes you through the Hoang Lien Mountains from Y Linh Ho to Ta Van, passing Black H'mong villages and terraced rice paddies. Later, you'll cruise through UNESCO-listed Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay's emerald waters with limestone formations all around. There's also a 10 km bike ride through Van Long Nature Reserve's karst landscapes and an overnight stay in a Ta Van homestay with local ethnic families.

Bike 300 kilometres through Cambodia's jungle on off-road trails to Beng Mealea temple where giant trees engulf 12th-century ruins and wildlife thrives in the reclaimed forest. You'll pedal dirt roads through rice paddies to the UNESCO-recognized Sambor Prei Kuk, checking out ten rare octagonal temple structures dating from the 6th to 9th centuries.
