City & Culture Tours & Trips in France and Germany
Our cultural tours weave through 26 carefully selected stops across France and Germany, connecting Provence's deep Roman roots with the character of Germanic Alsace. In Provence, you'll find yourself wandering through Carrières de Lumières' underground galleries, discovering art in unexpected places, and exploring UNESCO-listed Arles where Van Gogh once painted. The journey flows naturally from gliding along Strasbourg's flower-lined canals in Petite France to taking a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière for panoramic views of Lyon. Local touches make these trips special - you'll have time to wander medieval Colmar's timber-framed lanes, visit Savigny Castle's collection of unique museums and walk the paths to Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg. Moving through the Black Forest, where old German customs still thrive, the route takes you into Luxembourg with its mix of ancient fortifications and modern European flair and finally reaches the champagne region to admire Reims' grand Gothic cathedral.

Way too much road time. Half the traveling would have been best. Just too much to try to achieve in each day. Arrived to hotel late, most nights and it was too late to see the city we entered at the end of the day. With the exce of Strasbourg, we would leave early each morning, without the opportunity to see the final city of the previous evening. Not enough time to each dinner, for 6 nights in a row, as North Americans do not eat at 7-9 pm!! What we enjoyed most was the Castle of Strasbourg, with the incredible museums! The Perrier Winery was good. The Carrières Illuminées was very good. We were exhausted at the end, and only because of the lack of sleep. Cut that tour in half.
Dreaming of France and the Black ForestThe tour was very good but each day went so fast that it was hard to appreciate and even remember all that you saw and did. Some stops could have been removed. Marseilles, Baden baden could have been eliminated. Frankfurt , and Speyer also could have been eliminated. The limestone quarry was ok but it also could have been eliminated. That would help to give you more time to focus on the best parts of the tour. We did not see or do much at the spots I suggested to remove. Overall it was a very good tour and the guides were excellent.
Catalonia, south of France, Burgundy, Alsace and Black ForestThe tour guides are very caring and arrange everything immaculately. They know the hidden spots where to take good photos and I appreciate their expertise during my time with them.
