About me:Before joining the Tourism Industry i used to frequently travel across South East Asia and Australia working in the Oil and Gas Industry. I then took the leap of a lifetime into the whirlwind industry of touring and travelling for Contiki back in 2014 and haven't looked back since. Starting in Europe i progressed into the regional specific area of Great Britain and Ireland before eventually returning to where it all started with me in South East Asia. I currently specialise in Trips in Japan, India and Vietnam.

James was helpful, approachable, and gave copious amounts of information from his own past experiences and is open, honest and courteous in conversations. I’ve been on many tours and have travelled solo also, but this tour gave me the opportunity to see so much in the space of two weeks, and to meet like minded travellers that share the love of seeing the world too! James’ part in this made us all feel like a family. A family who experienced the chaos and beauty of India, in which I will never forget. India is now placed high on my list to one day return. Thanks to James and my Contiki family, it’s been well over a month and I still have the holiday blues! Miss you all! Thanks James!!

However, …I went on the contiki Vietnam experience. The journey, sites, sounds, people and experience was truely incredible. This was my first time traveling solo, so I was naturally a little nervous. However, that all went away once I met my group and fantastic tour manager James (aka the contiki tin tin). This guy is a legend. He made the whole experience seamless as he guided us (sometimes still hungover) from one end of the country to the other. He's laid back, knows his stuff and can help you find the best spots to party. Yet he still makes you feel pumped to get out of bed early and go on with the adventure of a lifetime. I honestly didn't know what to expect from a tour manager when I started, but James has set the bar extremely high. This was my first contiki but it won't be my last. And a big part of that has to do with our awesome guide. He's changed me by changing my perspective on life. I can only hope that I get James on another one of my tours.

I was a few years older than most of my tour mates so I didn't think I would need much checking up on but James took the time to get to know everyone and genuinely cares about how each person is doing. He is extremely knowledgeable about the countries and their cultures so it was great having him there to answer all my questions. James always made sure that everything ran seamless and ensured that everyone was accounted for. A tour mate and I got lost at one of the temples. James knew exactly who was missing and was quick to find us. I would definitely go another trip with James as my tour manager.

The Asia Contiki tour has reminded …Now that I'm over 21 and have a boring adult job, I thought I should be sensible and not spend so much on holidays... That was the most insane idea I've ever had. The Asia Contiki tour has reminded me that life is for living and that every minute I spend at work counts towards my next Contiki holiday. Being limited with time off from work, the Contiki tour meant that I could experience more than if I had arranged the holiday myself. My tour manager James was brilliant. He worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. If I'm honest, I hadn't done my research on the itinerary, as I just wanted to go to Asia for the first time with my friend. I had previously been on a G adventures tour and was surprised at how the quality of the Contiki accommodation, travel and included trips well surpassed my expectations. The other Contiki travellers were an eclectic group of amazing individuals who were brilliant fun. After a few days, I felt that the group had become a family; it felt similar to the feeling when making friends in your first semester at Uni, with James as the Godfather (just a lot less violent). The local tour guides were very knowledgeable and it was humbling to learn about the country's histories. I have been home for less than a week and am already planing my leave for the Contiki Vietnam tour next year! Take me back James! :-)

Just Wow. This was my first solo trip, and it exceeded every expectation I had! The 9 days we're planned perfectly, with enough time to see the sights whilst having free time to be able to relax or ex…Just Wow. It usually takes me several days to relax on vacation, however knowing that James had everything under control meant that I was chilled from the second I arrived, which is another first for me! The accomodation, included excursions, optional extras, transfers, and other transport were top notch- everything ran to time, was clean and everyone we came into contact with were friendly and accommodating! The time spent on each island was perfect and James' knowledge never faltered even as we quizzed him on the history and politics of Thailand! It was fantastic to feel so well looked after without being 'parented', it felt like James well and truly had our backs and he was great fun and great company too! Can't wait for my next Contiki... My biggest dillema is which one to choose!

If you're not experienced at travelling this is the trip for you. If you are experienced but want to meet great people and do some things you'd never be able to do while travelling in a smaller party (ie private boat with ac and Engagement suite rooms).
Just do it. Vietnam is incredible and this trip will take you from south to North with people from all over the world.

James was an especially helpful travel manager. Not only did he keep things running smoothly but he also knew so much about the culture and the countries where we traveled. I was ale to go to him with many questions about the local religion, traditions, and history and have them answered right away. Additionally, James was extremely helpful in suggesting places for my friends and I visit for our post-contiki on our own the week following the trip. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around.

Our tour guide James Jenkins was incredible. He knew so much about the country and if we had any questions that he didn't know the answer to he always got back to us later. The Me time optionals were really good, the highlight for my tour would have to be scuba diving around the postcard island of Koh Nang Yuan and the full moon party. All up I would recommend this tour and our guide to anyone.

James was our tour guide for the trip and his pleasant na…I was initially hesitant about Contiki, as I had heard it was all about drinking and not about learning the history of each place you visited. James was our tour guide for the trip and his pleasant nature and extensive knowledge of each of the places we visited changed my opinion on Contiki. We strayed away from the touristy spots and travelled through beautiful landscapes, with James teaching us about the history of each area in an informative and funny manner. James was mature and in control of the group, but also managed to get on everyone's good side. I would highly recommend him as a guide.

I came alone from the US on my first big international trip and even though I was completely excited, I was pretty nervous as well. The evening on the first night we all met up in the Contiki basement in London. James and Chris (our hilarious bus driver) were giving us instructions and explaining how the week would go down. I immediately liked James for his sense of humor and gift of getting complete strangers to relax and become friends.
Throughout the tour, James took us to all the great spots and even went out with us at night for a bit! You can tell he works his butt off to make his tours better than advertised.
He's entertaining to listen to while riding the bus, very knowledgeable about what we see while traveling about, a wonderful artist, a great chat (his life story is one to hear), and hands down a magnificent tour guide.
I would do anything to be back in the UK again with the same group of people from last year. It is a time I will never forget and I have James to thank for that. Thanks James!!

It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. You get to meet people from all over the world and I loved having someone there to show us the ropes, while still having your own free time see the sights that you want.
James was a great tour guide, very laid back and easy to talk to and was always happy to help with anything and full of knowledge! If I was to go on another Contiki I would be more than happy to have James as my tour guide again!
Great people, great food and great memories. Definitely recommend Contiki for a different way to travel.
