About me:My name is Ratha Van. I'm a CEO (Tour Leader) at G Adventures leading the tours in Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. I have been working in tourism for almost 15 years, 9 years as local tour guide in Cambodia and 5 years for G Adventures as Chief Experience Officer (CEO) or Tour Leader since October 2013.

We traveled from Hanoi (their for Tet celebration!) down through Vietnam and across into Cambodia - so many wonderful experiences - so many wonderful challenges - biking in Vietnam, cooking classes, sunrise in Angor Wat, a kick boxing match in Siem Re, a wedding in Cambodia and the somber side, the rememberance of war in Vietnam and the horrors in Cambodia.I have been traveling for 50 + years, have hitched from Athens to Paris, climbed mountains and hiked in the high arctic and have been on other G Adventure trips but this will always stand out as the finest of the many memories because of Ratha Van who pushed us to understand the culture, helped us 24 hours a day and most of all bounded us as a group and as friends.

He also has a wealth of knowledge about the geography, history, politics and demographics of Southeast Asia. He is very organized and is an excellent trouble shooter. He is very accommodating and responsive to the needs of his group. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a unique experience in this part of the world.

When any tour member had problems, he was very helpful in helping us to resolve them. He made our tour extra special.

First I went to Cambodia in 2015 with Ratha. It was amazing, very safe, he looked after us all the time.
Breathtaking, he showed and explained everything and fun, cause he was always good for a joke.

He was the nicest man which made for the perfect tour guide. His judgment on when to be professional and when he could relax and have more fun was spot on. Not once did I think that I couldn't rely on him or that he wasn't a great help and yet I always thought, this man is having so much fun and loves what he does. I even went back and visited him twice. Once was recently after the tour and he still took very good care of me. Another time was 2 years ago in 2016 when he again looked after me very well and arranged my families tour with another one of his tour guide mates. He even welcomed my family in to meet his family and it was a very special moment, so I cannot thank him enough. Cheers Ratha, and you truly are the best tour guide that I have ever had (or will ever have!), and I've now had 5 G-Adventure tour guides and you beet them all!

Honestly... Ratha is the greateat. He actually really cares.
Everyday he had the same enthusiasm as he had on the first day. His information on the areas has no end. He made our trip.

My friend and I had a great time. Our group was only 8 people. We represented all age groups and were from the USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, and Germany. We had the best-ever tour guide, Ratha Van.…My friend and I had a great time. Our group was only 8 people. We represented all age groups and were from the USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, and Germany. We had the best-ever tour guide, Ratha Van. He was one of the best tour guides I have ever had. He went far and beyond for us and went with us every place. He knew where to stop and made additional arrangements for us on our time off. He could not have done more for us. We made new best friends and stayed in touch after our trip. I would suggest that you plan your trip carefully to be sure you match up your activity ability with the difficulty of each trip. Our was a level 2 and worked out well. Others told me I could easily do a 3 but I would certainly not go for a 4 or a 5. Make sure you match up to not overdo your ability. I plan on doing many more trips.
