Brandon was excellent! Sights were amazing! Schedule was a bit aggressive. Coach lacked comfort, ie. no leg room, no cup holders, etc.

FIRST AND FOREMOST- any one showing signs of exposure to cold and flu must be made to take precautions- one careless person affected 40 others!!!! The free time is built in for when everything (traffic, lost passengers, ferry delays) is perfect - they need to widen the time frames. There was not enough free time to even relax before dinner. We were first time travellers and could have used instruction booklets for hotel procedures ahead of time. North America’s perception of a 4 star hotel is different. Many elderly people require their medication to be refrigerated and there only 3 out of 10 hotels with that option. Our guide Diermaid and driver Lee were absolutely wonderful and showed an infinite amount of caring and patience. More time in the country compared to the city but all and all a fabulous first Tour

This tour was a fantastic opporunity to see and experience the UK and Ireland. Realizing it was a "highlights" tour, I understood it would sometimes move quickly, and now I have an appetite for a more extensive look at some of the places we saw, particularly Scotland. Our tour director, Selene Tomlinson, was supurb. We encbountered a couple of cancellations and delays for reasons beyond her control, and she was tireless in coming up with alternatives that ensured our opitmum experience.

Best time to visit England and Ireland
- Spring 2026
Britain and Ireland truly come alive in spring, especially on our countryside tours. Guides Matt and John know exactly when to visit Powerscourt Gardens and the Wild Atlantic Way to catch the coastal wildflowers in full bloom. The routes linking Edinburgh Castle and the Lake District are always popular as nature wakes up after winter. Our travelers love how the spring weather brings clear views at the Cliffs of Moher and Ring of Kerry. Photography fans particularly enjoy the spring tours - we time the visits to Stonehenge and Bath's Roman ruins to catch that perfect spring light.

- Summer 2026
Long summer days mean more time to explore Britain and Ireland's highlights in depth. The August tours featuring Edinburgh's Military Tattoo are consistently sold out, especially when paired with visits to Blair Castle and St Andrews in the Highlands. Guides Kaeleigh and Carl make sure you get proper time at outdoor sites like Giant's Causeway and Hadrian's Wall. Summer extras include traditional jaunting car rides in Killarney National Park and evening visits to local music sessions. Our customers really value how these tours mix major sites like York Minster and Trinity College with quiet stops in the Cotswolds and also Connemara.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn brings rich colors to Britain and Ireland, particularly across the Scottish Highlands and Welsh valleys. You can explore Cambridge's colleges and York's medieval streets without the busy summer crowds. Our travelers especially enjoy mixing city time in Dublin and Edinburgh with countryside stops - the North York Moors are fantastic in fall, including rides on traditional steam trains through the colorful landscape. Wales really shines this season, with Snowdonia National Park and relaxed boat trips through the World Heritage Dee Valley showing off their autumn colors.

Where can I find the best traditional music in local pubs?
If you're in Dublin head straight to Temple Bar where you'll find live music every night of the week. For the real deal though check out The Cobblestone in Smithfield - that's where you'll get authentic Irish sessions. Edinburgh's got Sandy Bell's on Forrest Road it's basically a folk music institution and The Royal Oak on Infirmary Street hosts amazing live sessions. In London pop into The George Inn down in Southwark for folk music nights. Just check their websites before you go since the schedules change pretty often.
How do trains compare to coach tours for getting around - what's better for time and money?
Trains will get you there faster but they'll cost you more than coach tours. Looking at London to Edinburgh you're talking about 4.5 hours by train while coaches take 8-9 hours but here's the thing - coach tours make scenic stops along the way which adds a whole different dimension to your journey. If you're watching your budget coaches are fantastic value especially on our 'Best of UK & Ireland' tour. You'll spend 13 days exploring Belfast Edinburgh Liverpool Dublin and all the highlights like the Cliffs of Moher Giant's Causeway Scottish Highlands plus Blarney Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon.
What's the Wi-Fi situation like in accommodations across England and Ireland?
Most hotels you'll stay at will give you free Wi-Fi but honestly the quality can be hit or miss. If you're staying in rural B&Bs you might find the connection's a bit slower or limited. We've had travelers on our 'Best of UK & Ireland' tour mention this especially at some Scottish hotels like the Britania and Loch Long where the Wi-Fi wasn't quite what they expected. It's worth checking the specifics when you book.
Which historical sites can I easily reach by public transport outside the major cities?
You can definitely get to Hadrian's Wall by bus or train it's this incredible UNESCO site stretching across northern England where you can explore Roman forts and museums really getting into that fascinating Roman history. In Ireland take a bus from Dublin to the Rock of Cashel you won't regret it. It's this amazing medieval fortress up on a hilltop with spectacular views going back to the 5th century. It was actually where the High Kings of Munster ruled until the Normans showed up - pretty impressive stuff.
