15 Day Bali & Lombok Itinerary, incl. Ubud and Gili Islands

- Days 1-2
Ubud
Start your Bali adventure in Ubud's cultural center. Take a morning walk through local rice fields and traditional villages to get your bearings. A previous visitor advised: "The morning village walks were perfect for adjusting to Bali time - bring good walking shoes as paths can get muddy after rain." Make sure to see the Kecak fire dance performance in the evening. Get there 30 minutes early to find the best spots.

Ubud to Undisan
Go on a downhill bike tour through Ubud's quiet backroads and villages (3-4 hours). You'll see hidden temples and beautiful rice terraces along the way. After lunch take a 1.5-hour trip to quiet Undisan village under Mt Agung. Bring light layers since it gets cool in the evenings.

Sibetan Village & Mt Batur
Get to know village life in Sibetan, famous for its salak fruit farms. Join locals for a cooking class to learn regional dishes. Head to the Mt Batur area to rest up for tomorrow's trek. Sleep early tonight since you'll need to wake up at 3 AM.
- Days 6-7
Mt Batur & Lovina
Start climbing Mt Batur before sunrise (2-3 hours up). A recent visitor shared: "The sunrise trek was challenging but absolutely worth it. Pack a headlamp and warm jacket - it's cold and dark at the start." Relax in hot springs afterward before going to Lovina. Spend the next day snorkeling at Menjangan Island's reefs and visiting local hot springs.

Sanur & Lombok Transfer
Take a 3-hour trip to Sanur with a stop at Gitgit waterfall. Catch the fast boat to Lombok (2 hours, rougher during wet season) and continue to Tetebatu in the hills. It's a full day of travel but you'll see beautiful scenery throughout.

Traditional Lombok
Experience Sasak culture through village walks, farming demonstrations and local crafts. Visit the women's pottery workshops in Masbagik. Travel to quiet Labuhan Pandan for excellent snorkeling and beach time. One traveler mentioned: "The east coast feels wonderfully untouched - we had pristine beaches almost to ourselves."

Senaru & Gili Air
Check out Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls near Senaru (water shoes help on slippery paths). Take a boat to Gili Air for your final days of island relaxation. Go snorkeling right off the beach. Look for sea turtles in the morning when the water is calmest.

A recent visitor shared: "Watching the sunset at Uluwatu was magical, but bring a sarong to cover up and watch out for the cheeky monkeys who love stealing sunglasses!"

Canggu Beach Life
Drive 45 minutes to relaxed Canggu. Book morning surf lessons - the sandy bottom and gentle waves work great for beginners. Visit Tanah Lot Temple about 90 minutes before sunset for the best photos without crowds. Stop by The Lawn for sunset drinks in Canggu's more relaxed beach club scene.

Nusa Lembongan
Take the 30-minute fast boat from Sanur. Start with an early morning mangrove SUP tour before the wind picks up. Spend time at beautiful Dream Beach but stay in the marked swimming areas due to strong currents. Visit Devil's Tear for sunset but keep a safe distance from the edge.

Ubud Culture
Stay in central Ubud for easy temple access. Visit the Monkey Forest right when it opens at 8 AM. Join a local cooking class - as one traveler said: "Learning to make satay lilit from scratch while sitting in a traditional Balinese home was the highlight of my trip." Get to Tegalalang Rice Terraces before 9 AM for the best photos in soft morning light.

Gili Trawangan
Take the 2-hour fast boat from Padang Bai. Bring motion sickness pills if needed. Get around by bicycle since there are no cars on the island. Join morning snorkel trips for the best turtle spotting. Book rooms on the east side to wake up to Mt. Rinjani sunrises.
- Days 15-16
Mountain Retreat & Waterfalls
Explore Munduk's cooler mountain area. Plan about 2 hours for the Sekumpul Waterfall trek. Wear good hiking shoes for the slippery paths. If you're camping bring warm clothes - it gets cold at night.

Seminyak Finale
Wrap up in stylish Seminyak. The beach has bigger waves than Kuta but more space for walking at sunset. Stop by La Plancha beach bar for photos under their colorful umbrellas. Schedule your airport transfer outside rush hour (8-10 AM) to avoid traffic.
19 Days in Indonesia, incl. Bali and Komodo
This 19-day trip starts in Canggu with surf lessons on black sand beaches and visits to Tanah Lot temple. Cycle around car-free Gili Trawangan, snorkel with sea turtles, and trek Ubud's Tegalalang Rice Terraces before learning to make traditional Canang Sari offerings.

Canggu, Bali
Get started in relaxed Canggu. Book a surf lesson at Batu Bolong Beach between 7-8 AM when the waves are gentle. Visit temples early morning or late afternoon to beat the heat. You'll need a sarong and light sleeved top for temples. Skip the rental options and bring your own.
- Days 4-5
Lovina
Set your alarm for the 5:30 AM dolphin tours. The views are best from the left side of the boat. The drive from Canggu takes 3 hours on winding roads, so consider motion sickness pills. The boats are simple but give you a real local experience.
- Days 6-8
Gili Trawangan
Fast boats to Gili T run about 2 hours. If you get seasick, grab a seat inside. Bring water when biking the car-free island and stay on the main paths. Look for turtles while snorkeling near the northeast coast.
- Days 9-11
Lombok
The route to Senaru offers views of local village life. Mount Rinjani treks need good fitness levels. Kuta Lombok's southern beaches are quieter and more beautiful than the main stretch. Visit Sasak villages in early morning before other tourists arrive.
- Days 12-14
Ubud
Start your Monkey Forest visit before 10 AM to avoid crowds. Leave food and loose items at your hotel. The volcano trek begins around 3 AM on clear paths. Get to Tegalalang Rice Terraces before 9 AM to beat the tour groups.
- Days 15-19
Flores & Komodo
The Komodo National Park boat trip spans 2 days. Pink Beach has more peach tones but looks beautiful. Stay close to your guide near the Komodo dragons. They move surprisingly fast. Pack motion sickness medication for the boat rides.

We travelled with this company to help us plan our 2 week honeymoon from Philadelphia, PA to Indonesia. I specifically love to say "travelled" since we felt like family to us by the end. My husband and I spent nearly a year working with a US based travel agent before we found this Operator selling through TourRadar. It was a stressful period for us to planning, especially becasue it was for our honeymoon. We were ready to pull the trigger but after many unanswered calls and emails we eventually heard back from the original travel agent who said she was in a car accident and unable to continue with our booking. While very sympathetic to her situation, we were left high and dry. But then we found the best customer service received by Destination Service Indonesia, they are brilliant and a true expert at their craft. I will admit, I had my initial reservations working with a non US based travel agency at first but they quickly helped break down that bias. Some highlights throughout the planning process include: They speaks impeccable English so no need to be concerned with a language barrier during planning, timely with responses is an understatement and they were by our side the ENTIRE booking process, impressively thorough and detailed. They know their country in and out and, most importantly, we TRUSTED the Operator with the booking and we are so glad we did. Once we booked, they sent us a detailed itinerary of the trip and all of our contacts names/phone numbers which was our lifeline. EVERYTHING you could possibly think of was organized and taken care of. Regardless, if you had a question he was just a text away and incredibly reliable. Some highlights throughout our trip include: The hotels were breathtaking and the tour offer from beach to rainforest and everything in between. Breakfast was included and we were also provided lunch and dinner suggestions. Food was DELICIOUS everywhere. Car transportation was included, to and from the airports, excursions or anywhere and everywhere we desired. And generally it was the same gentleman which was nice because you got to know one another. English speaking tour guides were included everywhere. They accompanied us during transport and excursions which was nice to have. And always had snacks/cold bottled waters for us in the car. Also, generally the same person which is comforting. These guides became our dear friends, they were very kind, is strange coming from America to a culture that is so open and welcoming. They showed all the beauty Indonesia had to offer and in luxury. ALL private excursions. No crowded tour groups or buses. Most importantly, we felt safe with this operator and its team while travelling in Indonesia. A representative met us at the gate and helped navigate through the airport, customs and even skipped some lines. An absolutely flawless execution by this travel company. I can sincerely say that our honeymoon would not have been as memorable if it wasn’t for Destination Services Indonesia and its team. I wouldn’t change a thing and I will NEVER go to Indonesia again without booking with them. I recommend him 100 times and would give ten stars if I could to this Travel Operator, we love you and cant wait until we meet again.
