Luzon Island Family Trips/Tours Reviews
- Best of Palawan & Manila - 8 days
The tour was awesome. Problems with On The Go's customer service... I booked a tour in the Philippines with On The Go Tours and, honestly, I cannot give them a positive review. I’m not someone who typically writes negative reviews—everyone can have an off day. However, in this case, the company consistently failed to meet even basic customer service expectations and did very little to justify the commission they likely charged local tour operators for acting as an agent. Communication from their team was nearly non-existent and often incomplete. I booked two back-to-back Philippine tours as a solo traveler, which immediately became the first challenge they seemed unable to handle. Pricing changes were misquoted and inaccurate until just a few days before my departure. While they did attempt to make amends by reducing the overall cost by 20%, the situation ultimately forced me to cancel the second tour due to the high cost of traveling solo. They provided little to no response to questions I asked regarding itineraries, plans, and included services, repeatedly stating that the local tour provider in the Philippines would handle those details. This is where the communication breakdown became most severe. Having spent most of my career in customer service, I firmly believe that an agent is responsible for clear, accurate, and timely communication. That is the bare minimum required to earn a share of commission—and On The Go Tours fell well short of that standard. After discussing these issues directly with the local tour operators, they explained that they rely on On The Go Tours to properly inform and prepare guests before any handoff to on-site guides. On The Go Tours should have provided itineraries, schedules, tickets, and vouchers prior to departure. This did not happen. In fact, I did not receive a ticket for the air-travel portion of the tour until after I had already arrived at the airport to depart. Once the tour itself began, it became clear that the local providers did everything possible to deliver an excellent experience. Every guide was outstanding, every tour was beautiful and well executed, and each hotel exceeded my expectations for local accommodations. A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to Annset Holiday, Inc.—they were exceptional in every way. They answered all my questions, communicated promptly, and arranged truly excellent tours and guides. If you’re planning a trip to the Philippines, I highly recommend booking directly with Annset Holiday, Inc. As for On The Go Tours, I would strongly advise against using them for a Philippine trip. Their customer service simply does not measure up—even to a very low bar.
- A Week In Palawan, Philippines
While our Tour Agent, Moya, had been professional, friendly and expediently helpful, there were issues in our travel summary that caused angst, such as incorrect domestic flight info: from Manila to Puerto Princesa/Feb 23, 2026 and from Coron to Clark on March 1, 2026. If it hadn't been for my due diligence in verifying the itinerary summary, my traveling companions and I would've taken the wrong flights. Moya corrected them accordingly prior to our flights Additionally, I was notified less than a week prior to our arrival at El Nido, Feb 25, that our hotel was switched to Stunning Republic hotel from Marianne Suites due to it being booked. The travel package was purchased in Dec 2025 when the Marianne Suites hotel should've been already booked, otherwise, said hotel shouldn't have been advertised with beautiful pictures of its amenities in the tour package as still having available rooms. I was informed that the Stunning Republic hotel was in the same class as Marianne Suites hotel for being clean and located at a convenient location, which was totally false. The Marianne Suites hotel had a swimming pool and a workout gym, which the Stunning Republic hotel lacked, not to mention its dining area located in a shaded outdoor area, exposed to ground dirt and bugs. It was definitely a downgraded hotel, of which we were subjected to a classic "bait and switch" transaction. Upon checking into the Stunning Republic hotel, we discovered dingy and outdated bedrooms with stains on the couch, hooks on the walls without pictures and rusts in the bathrooms. It was very disappointing that we were forced to find another hotel closer to downtown that's more pleasing and comfortable place to stay at our cost. Otherwise, the rest of the hotels were better, the tour of island hopping was adventurous and enjoyable, including learning all about the awesome history of the fascinating Intramuros.
- 16 Days Philippines Discovery with Siargao (Independent Tour)
I chose this trip as it was perfect for me as a solo traveller and not wanting to spend too much on hotels as I didn't have anyone to share the costs with. The trip was amazing! The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable. I loved the White Banana Beach Club in Siargao right on the beach and a great place to meet other travellers! I LOVED everything about the trip and would 100% recommend it to anyone, especially solo travellers!
