I recently went on a ski trip with TruTravels in Andorra, and it was an incredible experience! The trip included four fantastic days on the slopes, and everything was well-organized from start to finish. Our guide, Tess, was absolutely fantastic—she was friendly, knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone was having a great time. Her enthusiasm and expertise really made the trip special. I would definitely recommend TruTravels for anyone looking for an unforgettable ski adventure with a great guide like Tess. I’m already looking forward to my next trip!

Such an amazing experience! Some highlights: • Our guide, Antoine was phenomenal! He is very experienced, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Best guide ever. • The hotel was perfectly located, the food was amazing, and the family was very nice. • Andorra is a MUST see place with picturesque lakes, mountains, and streams. • Each day is perfectly laid out with plenty of time to push yourself on the expeditions then relax at the hotel. A few recommendations: • If you are not physically fit, I would not recommend this trip. • If you are VERY physically fit or looking for a big challenge I might also look at other trips. I would say this is perfect for the average person looking to be physically pushed. • If you are an avid Mountain biker, I would say this is not the trip for you. The mountain biking is not "mountain biking" it is "off-road" as the description says. Overall I would say this is an amazing trip because you get (physically) what you want out of it and you get to spend your time in one of the most beautiful places!
Andorra: Hike, Bike & Raft - C

Andorra is a beautiful country. The hiking was amazing. Dago was a good guide. The only problem was the initial meeting. It appears we were all sent different instructions. I arrived at the airport 2 hours early so that I wouldn't miss the meeting. My instructions were to meet the rep (who would be holding an Explore sign) at the exit to Terminal 2B (there are 5 exits!). I walked up and down the terminal for over half an hour (inside and out) and as the time for the meeting arrived and still no sign, I called the number in the instructions. I was told that the rep was there, and I was given a specific meeting spot. When he got to me, he said it was lucky that the bus was late because I would have been marked a no show and would have had to find my own way from Barcelona to Andorra. There was no sign with Explore written on it (he was wearing a jumper that he had taken off and hung over a bag facing the wall). I wasn't the only one that had this trouble. It was a case of mixed communications that could have had a costly and distressing outcome!

Best tour companies for Costa Brava tours
Based on what our travelers tell us, ExperiencePlus has really nailed their cycling tours - we keep hearing great things about their guides and how smoothly everything runs. The hotels they pick are top-quality and their routes are well thought out. Explore's getting solid reviews for their tours too, particularly when it comes to their guides. Bert gets mentioned quite a bit by name, which says something nice about the personal touch they bring. They mix up activities nicely to keep things interesting but there's a bit of a hiccup with their flight bookings - some travelers have had mixed results there. For folks looking to hit the slopes without breaking the bank, Stoke Travel's Andorra weekends fit the bill. The après-ski scene is lively and the overall package is good value. We should mention though that one customer wasn't happy with how they handled a Covid cancellation - there were some issues with their refund process and customer service during that time.

Best time to visit Costa Brava
- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter in Costa Brava brings a different energy, especially up in Andorra where the ski season kicks into high gear. The mountain adventures run from Barcelona, with morning departures that get you to the slopes by midday. Our TourRadar customers love how these tours include gear rental and lift passes, plus the guides help first-timers find their snow legs while experienced skiers can tackle more challenging runs. After skiing, you'll find lively aprés-ski scenes in places like Sort and Soldeu. Some tours mix skiing with cultural stops in medieval villages and also wine regions, which works particularly well for groups where not everyone wants to ski every day.

- Spring 2026
Spring tours really shine in Costa Brava, when temperatures are perfect for cycling and hiking. The bicycle routes from Girona follow old railway paths called Carrilets, which our customers say are ideal for getting comfortable on two wheels. You'll pedal through fields of early wildflowers to spots like Sant Feliu de Guixols, Palamos and also Calella de Palafrugell. The Pyrenees multi-activity tours are excellent in spring too - the Noguera River runs strong from snowmelt, making it prime time for whitewater rafting near Sort. Walking tours around Aigues Tortes National Park let you spot wildlife waking up from winter, with guides who know just where to find rare birds and mountain flowers.

- Summer 2026
Summer brings perfect conditions for combining coastal and mountain activities. The family adventure tours based in Sort mix morning hiking in cooler mountain air with afternoon swimming and kayaking on the Noguera River. Our TourRadar customers particularly enjoy how the guides adjust activities to different ages and abilities - kids can try easier versions of canyoning while parents tackle more challenging routes. The cultural tours from Barcelona work well in summer too, starting early to explore Gothic Quarter streets before the heat kicks in, then heading to beaches like Barceloneta for afternoon swims and sunset catamaran cruises along the coast.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall offers rich experiences in Costa Brava as crowds thin out and temperatures stay pleasant. Art-focused tours really shine this season - you'll explore Dali's birthplace in Figueres and the whitewashed artist haven of Cadaques without summer crowds. The wine tours through Penedes take on special meaning during harvest, when you can actually see the grape picking in action. Our travelers particularly enjoy walking tours through medieval towns like Besalu and Pals this time of year, when morning mists add atmosphere to ancient stone streets and you can linger over long lunches of traditional Catalan dishes in uncrowded restaurants.

What Makes Costa Brava So Special?
You'll find something truly unique along Costa Brava's coastline it's actually called the "Wild Coast" and when you see those dramatic cliffs and hidden coves you'll understand why. It's really different from Spain's southern beaches the landscape here is just incredible especially around Cap de Creus Natural Park which sits at the very eastern tip of Spain's mainland.
Where Can You Find Natural Areas and How Do You Get There?
Cap de Creus Natural Park is absolutely worth exploring and you can cycle there from Cadaques or join a guided hike. If you're up for something really special check out Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park the guided walks are fantastic and they'll take you in Land Rovers to reach gorgeous spots like Sant Maurici Lake that you wouldn't easily get to otherwise.
