Our tour guide Els was fabulous and made this trip so successful. I am sure we were a challenging group - we had an elderly lady on the trip who really was not up to it and sickness in the group. Els dealt with it all and did not lose her patience. She was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. I found the walk challenging but enjoyed the scenery, the historic villages and the comraderie of the group and other travellers we met along the way.

The Camino de Santiago is an amazing physical, mental, and spiritual experience. It is a trip of a lifetime. The Camino changes each day with different routes, sites, conditions, communities, and challenges. You’ll discover yourself during your journey. From my experience, the best way to experience the Camino is with a professional tour guide on a fully supported trip. Don’t rely on an app to guide you or try to plan this yourself. This endeavor will change you and you’ll need some flexibility and guidance from day to day to best experience the Camino. Chris and Marco from Climbing Mountains fit our journey to our changing needs and desires. Because of their efforts and experience, we saw sites and found new meaning that we would have missed on our own. Chris and Marco worked tirelessly to accommodate us along the way and became part of our Camino.

What a wonderful way to enjoy the Spanish country's and some of its religious history that walk the last 130km of the Camino. It will not always be easy (hot humid days increase the risk of blisters) but the experience is worth every ouchie. The towns, accommodation and people are generally amazing even if the quality of food is a bit uneven until you get to Santiago. But food and drink incredibly cheap. Brilliantly organised and led by our Spanish guide David who went above and beyond to ensure we all had a memento experience. Definitely to be recommended to everyone with the capacity to have a decent walk
