The Cerrado Tours & Trips
Imagine bumping along the Transpantaneira Road at sunrise, spotting capybaras and caimans near the water. From an old fazenda, you might ride out on horseback or take a small boat along the channels. At dusk, guides scan the banks for jaguars. The days follow the rhythm of the wetlands, not a fixed schedule.

We had a great time in Pantanal despite the weather (it was cloudy and raining half of the time, but it definitely wasn't the tour operator's fault!). We did our hikes, kayaking, and safaris on the first days when it was not raining, so all was well. On the last day, it was raining so we couldn't do our final hike, but it was all good as we already did all of the activities in the previous days and was just about to repeat our favourite hikes before we leave to cath our flight in the afternoon. Communication with the tour provider was easy. We were put in a WhatsApp chat that facilitated communication. They shared important trip information there and answered all of our questions timely. They also accommodated our special requests (eg. vehicle size to fit our luggage, meal restrictions, etc.). However, the packed lunch could use a bit more texture and variation, especially since we had to eat the same thing for both breakfast and lunch. Food was especially delicious despite our dietary restrictions. The kitchen staffs also accommodated our request for early lunch as we needed to catch a flight back to São Paulo in the afternoon. Thank you so much for accommodating our requests and for the great meals! The guides were great and knowledgeable. Thank you to Ney, CJ, Pepe, and Vanessa who accompanied us in our activities. Ney and Vanessa were especially great in spotting rare/hard-to-see animals (eg. great potoo, anaconda, bats, etc.). The wifi was unfortunately not working most of the time due to some error. Since it was the weekend they could not fix it quickly. This is not too bad though since I was okay being unplugged, but my sisters and parents were a bit anxious about missing stuff back home. My sister suggests that the property installs satellite-based internet services like Starlink for more reliable connection. We were never guaranteed to spot any jaguars, but we did see 3 (or 4?) in the 4-ish hours that we were in the water during the boat safari trip in Porto Jofre. So that's an average of ~1 per hour and it's definitely a lot more than we expected. We got SO CLOSE to them, we saw one hunt (jumped from a tree to the water!) and another swim super close to the boats. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Thank you so so so much for hosting us!
