What people love about Sri Lanka Tours for Seniors
- Premium Sri Lanka in Depth (15 destinations)
Just returned from The Jewels of Sri Lanka tour and we had a great time. Anando was so enthusiastic about his county's culture, history and people. The 1 st couple of days were full on but we learned a great deal about Sri Lanka. The tour was varied with Temples, Tea plantations, wild life ( saw lots of elephants, crockodiles, buffalo, mongoose), eating in various restaurant and private houses. The food was wonderful and the hotels were lovely. We went whale watching from Marissa beach near Galle and saw blue whales and lots of dolphins. Our driver and baggage handler were very good and nothing was too much trouble. This was the first time we holidayed with Peregrine and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We would not hesitate to use Peregrine in future. .
- Fascinating Sri Lanka
What a great view to see Sr Lanka. we usually like to do tours ourselves and stay away from guided tours but after reading TA reviews and some forums decided to stay away from a "self planned tour" but to take a tour from this company as they had excellent reviews for other tours. We are so glad that we did as we were able to see so much more than trying to find things to do ourselves. I am sure we wouldn't have been able see half of what we did if we had tried this journey ourselves. Thank you once again for all the arrangements. Thank you Paratyush for putting our plan together and Baz for the great guidance. We shall be back to see India with you.
- Splendour of Sri Lanka - (8 Days and 7 Nights tour in Sri Lanka)
We usually travel on our own. However, considering that Sri Lanka had so much to offer in different places, we decided to take this tour because it sounded great. Based on prior comments, we were hoping that the tour would live up to expectations, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tour, especially our tour guide, Kanishka. Kanishka is superb — knowledgeable, courteous, and professional — and we highly recommend him.
What our customers ask about Sri Lanka Tours for Seniors
What is the best time of year for seniors to visit Sri Lanka?
The most comfortable months for seniors are December through March when temperatures stay between 25-30°C with lower humidity. Early morning visits work best for exploring key sites in the Cultural Triangle such as Sigiriya. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We visited in February and found the weather perfect - warm but not too hot for sightseeing especially in hill country areas like Nuwara Eliya."
How physically demanding are the tours for seniors in Sri Lanka?
Most tours maintain a relaxed pace that suits older travelers. The biggest physical challenge is Sigiriya Rock Fortress with its 1,200 steps but guides allow visitors to climb at their own speed with regular breaks. One TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide was very patient and allowed us to climb Sigiriya at our own comfortable speed while ensuring we didn't miss any key sights." Hotels like Cinnamon Red in Colombo provide ground floor rooms and elevator access.
What medical facilities are available during Sri Lanka tours?
You'll find quality medical care within 30 minutes of main tourist spots. Private hospitals with English-speaking staff serve cities like Colombo Kandy and Galle. Tour guides carry contact details for local medical centers at each stop. Some hotels provide extra medical support. For example the Heritance Kandalama keeps a doctor on call around the clock.
What type of transportation is used for senior tours in Sri Lanka?
The tours use modern vehicles with good air conditioning and easy-access seating. According to one TourRadar traveler: "The vehicle was spacious with good suspension making even longer journeys comfortable. Our driver was very careful on the winding roads." When taking scenic train routes like Kandy to Nuwara Eliya travelers get first-class seats with extra space.
