What people love about Sri Lanka Tours for Couples
- Splendour of Sri Lanka - (8 Days and 7 Nights tour in Sri Lanka)
We usually travel on our own. However, considering that Sri Lanka had so much to offer in different places, we decided to take this tour because it sounded great. Based on prior comments, we were hoping that the tour would live up to expectations, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tour, especially our tour guide, Kanishka. Kanishka is superb — knowledgeable, courteous, and professional — and we highly recommend him.
- Splendour Of Sri Lanka (7 Days) Upgrade to Private Tour Available
I wholeheartedly recommend Beauty Lanka Travels. Our guide, Janaka Prasanna, was exceptionally warm and attentive, always striving to adapt the itinerary to match our interests. He eagerly shared fascinating insights into Sri Lankan culture and provided engaging explanations of the sites we visited, which greatly enriched our journey. The accommodations were on the simpler side, but travelers have the option to upgrade to a higher standard if desired. For us, the arrangements were perfectly adequate. Each morning began with a satisfying breakfast—typically featuring coffee, juice, eggs, sandwiches, and fresh fruit—ensuring we started the day energized and content. Janaka also introduced us to several excellent local restaurants where we enjoyed truly delicious lunches and dinners. We will definitely miss the incredible food! All in all, it was an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend. If your schedule allows, consider extending your trip with a few relaxing days by the sea in Mirissa—it’s an absolutely breathtaking destination.

What our customers ask about Romantic Sri Lanka Trips & Honeymoon Packages
What's the best time of year for couples to visit Sri Lanka?
When you plan your Sri Lanka trip depends on which parts you want to explore. If you're heading to the beaches of Galle and Unawatuna on the west and south coasts, go between December and April when the weather is perfect for swimming at around 86°F (30°C). For exploring ancient sites like Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy, January through March is great with comfortable temperatures of 77-82°F (25-28°C) and little rain. If you want to visit the cooler hill country around Nuwara Eliya, pick March to May when it stays around 68°F (20°C). Many couples who've traveled with us suggest skipping the monsoon seasons - they hit the southwest from May to July and the northeast from October to January.
What are the most scenic train journeys for couples in Sri Lanka?
The train ride from Kandy to Ella is hands down the most beautiful route in Sri Lanka. You'll wind through misty mountains and past endless tea fields and waterfalls for about 7 hours, climbing to 4,000 feet above sea level. The stretch between Nanu Oya and Ella is especially beautiful - you'll see the famous Nine Arch Bridge and get amazing sunset views. One couple who took this trip told us "the views were incredible, we spent hours just looking out the window together." Book first-class observation car tickets ahead of time to get the best seats.
Which wildlife experiences are recommended for couples in Sri Lanka?
You'll find really special wildlife experiences in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu National Park is great for spotting leopards in a more private setting since it's Sri Lanka's biggest park. At Udawalawe, you can take private jeep rides to see the park's 400+ elephants, especially nice at sunset. From November to April, head to Mirissa to watch blue whales together. Near Yala National Park, you can stay in luxury tented camps - picture sipping champagne on your private deck while watching animals walk by. One couple told us "watching elephants from our private balcony was the highlight of our trip."
What unique dining experiences are available for couples in Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka has so many special dining options. In Colombo, you can eat dinner on the Shangri-La Hotel's rooftop with ocean views. In Matale, visit a spice garden where you'll learn to cook together and enjoy what you make. Tea tastings in Nuwara Eliya are really fun - you'll try some of Ceylon's best teas. Many beachfront hotels, like Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle, can set up private dinners right on the sand. They'll serve fresh seafood and traditional Sri Lankan dishes under the stars.
How should couples plan their budget for a Sri Lanka trip?
Plan on spending between $200-400 USD per day for a nice trip together, including where you stay, what you eat, and activities. Nice hotels like Cinnamon Grand in Colombo or Heritance Tea Factory in Nuwara Eliya cost about $150-300 USD each night. Visiting places like Sigiriya Rock and the Temple of the Tooth runs about $30-50 USD per person. Private safaris in Yala cost $100-150 USD, and special dinners usually run $50-100 USD for two. Getting around with a private driver costs about $50-100 USD daily.
What are the best locations for honeymoon photos in Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka is full of picture-perfect spots. Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress early for amazing sunrise photos. The tea fields around Nuwara Eliya and Ella are beautiful, especially near the Nine Arch Bridge. The old walls of Galle Fort make great sunset photos, and Bentota's beaches near The Palms resort are perfect for beach shots. The Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy has rows of palm trees and an orchid house that make beautiful backdrops for couples photos.
How accessible are different destinations within Sri Lanka for a romantic getaway?
Sri Lanka is pretty small, which makes it easy to see lots of places. Getting between the main ancient sites like Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy takes about 2-3 hours. From Colombo to Kandy is a 3-hour drive, and from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya is a nice 2.5-hour trip by car or train. Hotels like Earl's Regency in Kandy and Radisson Colombo put you in good spots to explore different areas. Most tours include private cars, so getting around is comfortable and easy.
