Our rail journeys through Europe start with the smooth Eurostar ride under the Channel, popping up in Paris where you get two or three days to settle in and explore. The route south takes you through Burgundy's wine region - our travelers love watching the vineyards and old stone villages roll past their window. Moving into Italy, the train cuts through some really special landscapes; you get the rolling hills of Tuscany between Florence and Rome, and then those impressive Dolomite peaks on the way to Venice. What works well is how we've balanced everything - there's a local guide waiting to meet you at each major station to help you find your bearings and share some local knowledge, but you also get plenty of time to wander off and do your own thing.
