It was so much fun! I was afraid I wouldn't have any time to see what I want in each place, or time to myself to just do as I please, but there was a lot of free time and it was organized great so that we could meet at the drop off/pick up destination. We got a map of each city and lots of recommendations of things to do. You meet a lot of people and don't have to worry about the stress that comes along with the travel and accommodation aspects because that is what's taken care of for you.

Best time to visit England, France and Italy
- Spring 2026
Spring hits the sweet spot for exploring these countries with nice temperatures and gardens in full bloom. Favorite tours mix London's royal sites with Paris's springtime buzz and Italy's Renaissance cities. You'll find unique seasonal activities like picnicking in Loire Valley château gardens and visiting family wineries in Burgundy as the vines wake up. Our guests tell us they love how these routes balance city exploration with countryside stops - one day you're learning about prosecco making in Veneto, the next watching Venice's master glassblowers at work. Many spring tours include seasonal highlights like browsing Florence's leather markets when new collections arrive and walking through Rome's Villa Borghese gardens at peak bloom.

- Summer 2026
Summer gives us excellent tour options linking these three countries, where our most successful routes balance early morning activities with relaxed afternoons to handle the warmth. The extended evening daylight opens up more chances to discover Paris's Montmartre quarter and Rome's Trastevere district once temperatures drop. Those 10-day journeys start in London, hop on the Eurostar to Paris and then wind through Burgundy's vineyards into Italy - they're consistently among our top sellers. What makes these trips special are those exclusive moments: private evening access to St. Peter's Basilica, authentic cooking sessions in Tuscan farmhouses and Seine cruises when Paris takes on its evening glow. Families and younger guests often choose tours with afternoon free time during peak heat, while our senior travelers prefer schedules packed with morning activities and cultural visits in air-conditioned spaces. Our guides Sarah, Gerry and Vince get constant praise for adapting the pace just right, whether that means early Florence walks before the heat kicks in or evening wine tastings at family estates in Veneto.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall brings rich experiences across these countries with harvest festivals and good weather making it prime travel time. Popular autumn routes begin in London exploring historic spots, then cross to Paris where Montmartre's artistic quarter is free from summer crowds. The journey winds through French wine regions during grape harvest, stopping at traditional Burgundy vineyards. In Italy, clear autumn days are perfect for visiting Venice's islands and Florence's hilltop views. Our travelers love the seasonal activities - helping with Tuscan olive harvests, watching traditional grape pressing and joining local fall festivals in medieval towns along the route.

How do you get around London, Paris and Rome efficiently on a multi-country tour?
The trains are definitely your best bet here. You can hop on the Eurostar and be in Paris from London in just over 2 hours which is amazing when you think about it. From there France's TGV network connects you smoothly to Italian cities like Milan and Turin making it super easy to get down to Rome. Our 'From St. Paul's to St. Peter's' tour uses these rail connections so you spend more time exploring and less time traveling.
Where can I find amazing spots that aren't packed with tourists in England France and Italy?
Look beyond the big cities and you'll discover these wonderful authentic places. Canterbury in England is absolutely fascinating with its historic cathedral and medieval streets. Over in France there's this lovely village called Tournus with this impressive abbey and such a peaceful vibe. And in Italy Assisi is just beautiful perched up on its hillside with all its connections to Saint Francis. You'll actually visit Assisi on our 'Road to Rome' tours.
What local traditions can I actually take part in and where's the best place to do that?
There's nothing like getting involved in local life to really understand a place. In England you can experience a proper afternoon tea in these gorgeous historic hotels and tea rooms. Paris and Lyon are perfect for trying your hand at French pastry making in actual cooking workshops. And in Venice taking a gondola ride through the canals with the singing and everything is just magical. Our 'European Traveller' and 'London to Rome Highlights' tours include that Venetian experience.
What foods should I definitely try while I'm in England France and Italy?
You've got to taste the local specialties they're part of what makes each place unique. England's fish and chips are best enjoyed in a cozy pub atmosphere. In Paris try the escargots they're typically served with this amazing garlic butter and parsley. Italy's pasta dishes like real Spaghetti Bolognese or Carbonara in traditional trattorias are just incredible. One of our travelers Sanjay mentioned in their 'European Traveller' review that our local guides really know where to find great authentic food without breaking the bank.
