What I loved most was the fact that although we got to see the main tourist areas, we also got to spend some time alone with our group on some of the nicest islands in the world. The activities on the tour are awesome and everyone had an amazing time! We were lucky our group leader was super organised also and everything ran smoothly. This is definitely not one to miss I can’t recommend it enough!

This tour was so properly planned out. Dan added a little bit of everything to this tour. There were so many activities to choose from throughout the trip- island hopping, snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, zip lining, paddle boarding, spear fishing, cooking, kayaking, waterfall chasing, stargazing, sunset watching... Everyday was a jammed packed with an itinerary full of pure fun and culture!
All the travel and accommodation is already done for you. You literally don't have to worry about anything once you are on this tour besides paying for a few of your own meals. The staff was insanely wonderful. They brought so much great energy to the experience and really took care of and genuinely cared about every person on the tour. I felt so safe and comfortable at all times.
My favorite part of the tour was the 3D/2N Castaway boat trip where we got to stay on a private beach with a local tribe. We took a cooking class and interacted with the locals. The Camp Carabao staff made us the most delicious food for every meal and we island hopped for 2 days straight. One day we snorkeled at a shipwreck in the most incredible blue waters you have ever seen. And every day was ended with the most unreal sunsets from our private beach.
I cannot say enough good things about this tour. Dan is the absolute man. I was so sad when it came to an end. I guarantee you will never experience something like this. Thank you TruTravels for the best 10 days of my life. Recommend 20/10 :)

All the snorkeling trips we did were just amazing chorals,fish,turtles,stingray,Canonbogan ....
All the scenery we saw were incredible waterfalls,lagoons,beach’s,stars,luminescent plankton
All the locals we meet were so kind and sweet the always been smiling and helping us on any of our needs
I’m so glad Daniel was the one that organise all of that and I don’t have enough word to thanks him for the lifetime experience he gave me and give to the all group he knew how to get people going and he was always on time and organize he wasn’t just our tour guide he was our friend!!! Thank you so much Trutravels for this wonderful trip I will do it again for sure!!!!

I cannot be more grateful and honoured to have experienced the places and the people we met along the way! TRUTRAVELS has 100% blown me away with the locations such as Culion, Nacpan Beach in El Nido and a small fishing village in Port Barton for their local history, beauty and culture! One place in particular was a very special experience. On day 7 we hopped on a ferry to Coron and from there left on our 3 day Red Carabao Castaway Camp experience. Living on this small paradise beach and seeing how the local Tagbanua people live and trade was a very eye-opening and humbling experience and one I will truly never forget! We were engaged in many activities with the local people such as learning traditional methods used by many tribes like coffee brewing, weaving and spear fishing which I found very interesting.
I cannot thank TruTravels enough for this whole 10 day experience! From the second I arrive till the very moment I left I was 100% taken care of and everything was smooth and hassle free! I felt very safe and the hospitality of every hotel and restaurant we visited I would rate 10/10. Already looking at what TruTravels tour to book next!!

We got to full immerse ourselves into Tru Filipino culture right from the start!! Our first stop was Port Barton where we did some incredible island hopping, swam with turtles, had lunch with a local fishing village spent the day with the locals playing basketball. Oh and the food we had was out of this world!!
We then headed to one of the most sort after destinations in the world El Nido

Dan the tour guide provided the structure of what we were doing for each day and River, the other tour guide added the the dynamic fun atmosphere that assisted everyone in the group to have an enjoyable time. It was pleasing to see some members of the group that were initially quiet and reserved to extend themselves to activities like cliff jumping or to be the life of the party. This tour has it all, relaxation, a party atmosphere, and above all being able to be immersed to things to keep you interested. I found it to be a truly bonding experience among the others in the group especially when we did the canyoning activity. The common thread were the tour guides Daniel and River who provided the framework for the activities to be fun and enjoyable. I will be back. To all those thinking of doing this tour , just do it because the experience will be uniquely yours .

Our accommodation was what was expected for the type of tour we had booked onto.
Mad monkey hostel is a crazy place, I could not stay there any longer than 3 nights but amazing all the same.
All round great experience I would definitely recommend it to anyone (of a certain age).

The tour was so well organised and the leaders made sure you had the time of your time from the minute you meet up until the very last minute of the tour. The Philippines is such a beautiful country and we got to see so much! The waterfalls, boat party and Boracay nightlife was definitely the highlights for me. I will DEFINITELY be back!!! #justgo

I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share the incredible experiences with, which makes everything even more amazing and memorable. The tour leaders organise and run everything smoothly so it’s so easy just to relax and enjoy the experience. Some of the highlights for me were definitely seeing the different waterfalls, they’re stunning and definitely need to be seen; the white beaches and crystal clear waters at each destination are breathtaking and the nightlife in Boracay especially is crazy. Dan is super down to earth and makes every effort to ensure everyone is having a good time (even if that means buying the next round of tequila - did I mention we had a few drinks on this tour?). All in all, I'd give Dan 5/5 stars as a guide - he changed my name for the majority of the tour to one much coooler than my own, he stayed woke with me, he took on the role of paparazzi, and was a great hype man. Thanks Dan, it was a blast!

Daniel is awesome a great listener, a great friend, trying to help everybody, making sure everything is fine and making sure everyone is having a great time. He is funny, super easy going! Bangkok was so wild had a blast at a great party there with him! Cliff diving in Khao Sok! Koh Phangan I really enjoyed the jungle party and the Full Moon! The Amsterdam bar, and the Secret Bar. Hard to pick my favorite place but Railey was probably my favorite! Phi Phi going to the different islands was also mind blowing!! You rock, I definitely want to go on another tour with my man Daniel!!!

Ultimately though, it comes down to the PEOPLE. The ones who run the show and the people you are traveling with.
You can't choose the people you are going to travel with. For me it was fine.
The people who ran the show, they have my highest respect and regard, individually and as a team.
The standout for me was, of course DANIEL ROMERO, da Man. He was my guide at first, then soon, my friend.
He looked after me from the airport in Bangkok and to beyond.... haha!
He is smarter than I look. Has a big heart and cares.
If ever under any stress, you'd never notice it in Dan. Cool, calm and collected always. In Malaysia, where I was born, we have a phrase to describe this.
It is: " make don't know". As in nonchalant, cooool, doooode. Pretend nothing bad, or good, is happening haha!
Of course Dan managed to put out any fire.
He is also not fazed by age......nor am l.

Dan was great fun and made time for everyone, he made our travelling easy, never a dull moment. He knew all the best places to go.

We visited the most beautiful places, most of which I would have never visited without this tour, and even the weather couldn't prevent us having a good time. From visiting 2 of the most prestigious temples in Bangkok where we got blessed by a monk, staying in floating bungalows at Koh Sok national park, crazy party nights at bottle beach, the famous full moon party in Koh phangan, hiking up to some of the most beautiful view points you'll ever see in Koh Tao, to kayaking around the waters of Krabi island, this tour has something for everyone. It was a perfect mix of seeing some of the cultural side of Thailand, crazy party nights, and chill days at the beach. The friends I've met along the way are friends I'll have for a life time and the memories I'm going home with are the stories I'll have to tell forever. On our trip we had the pleasure of having 3 amazing tour guides who all had so much knowledge about Thailand. Benmore, is probably the greatest person I've ever met in my life. Not only is she crazy fun to be around, she also can brighten anyone's day in a matter of seconds. She made communicating with locals 100 times easier and helped out with the trip so much. Ryan and Dan, probably the two Most outgoing tour guides I could of ever imagined. Never once did they actually feel like tour guides , more like friends who knew the land. They were very sociable, genuinely kind, and so unbelievably helpful. They knew all the great spots to take us to, all the best places to eat, where all the best nightlife was at, and most of all knew how to have a good time with us. All three of our tour guides did an amazing job, and I definitely give them props for handling over 50 of us so well. This trip exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't of wanted it any other way. I don't think there's any other way to describe this trip other then a trip of a lifetime. Cheers to a trip none of us will ever forget.

The tour guides were absolute class and made the entire tour a much more enjoyable experience. So much so, I would consider the tour guides as good friends and I am very hopeful that our paths cross again in the future.
Everything was well organised by the TruTravels team, including all transportation between islands and all accommodation, which made the trip completely stress free.
Even on our "chill days" the tour guides would organise fun activities for our group, and arrange any transportation to visit cool beaches, viewpoints, and bars.
I travelled solo and honestly, I found it so easy to meet people and make new friends who share the same passion of travelling. If I was to speak to anyone who is in two minds about doing this tour, I would strongly advise that they just go for it.

Everything was organised insanely well that there was never any need to stress or worry about what we were doing or where we needed to be because it was all done for us and so we were able to enjoy every moment of the tour without any stress. Whilst it was all organised and planned well, there was also a good balance of having activities planned and also having free time to go and explore or just chill as we pleased. All accommodation was beautiful, some better than others of course (the floating bungalows being a huge highlight), but all lovely. To have got this far into a review without mentioning the guides is wrong of me. Patrick and Jonjo made the entire trip and without them the experience would not have been half of what it was. Whilst being the source of all knowledge and managing to get all 20 odd of us to the end of the trip in one piece, they also brought the group together and enabled us all to become a small family by the time the trip had ended. I have made friends that I will stay in contact with for a very long time, it is designed to accommodate many, a 10+ year age gap between some group members went unnoticed. I would recommend this tour to so many people, in fact, I already have. I would also jump at the chance to do it a thousand times over. Thank you again to Patrick and Jonjo for being just so awesome! Less than a week after finishing the tour and I miss it like crazy, TruTravels did very well.

Plenty of activities were included, including travel and some meals even, and we were never pressured into anything so everything we took part in felt enjoyable and natural. We saw some of the most beautiful places on earth and our group bonded well, seeing as we were being taken care of so well. Everything was organised for us and even in 'free time' we were given recommendations for things to do and see.

It was my first time traveling to Thailand and I think coupling a few days in Chiang Mai on my own with TruTravel's 18 Day Island Hopper tour was the best way I could've gone about it (arrive in Bangk…It was my first time traveling to Thailand and I think coupling a few days in Chiang Mai on my own with TruTravel's 18 Day Island Hopper tour was the best way I could've gone about it (arrive in Bangkok early so that you can visit the Grand Palace, which is not included in the itinerary). The tour's itinerary allowed me to experience a lot of southern Thailand's major spots, including some that I wouldn't have known about on my own, with a fun-loving group of people for a relatively great price. I also really liked that we had the flexibility to do other/additional activities on our own if we wanted to. I was initially in a group of around 20 with Minnie (and very briefly with Dave) before our group combined with another that came to be led by Itchy, Daniel, and Patrick. The guides were all knowledgeable, very prompt at responding to messages, and fun to be around. They do their jobs well and truly want to make sure that you are enjoying your time. Each brought something different to the table that I think contributed to the group's dynamic. They should all be given a raise and more days off ASAP so that they can come visit me in California some day (:
Some critiques: I wish that we were put in sleeper trains WITH A/C on our way to Khao Sok National Park and would have preferred another hostel over the TruTravel-owned Echo Beach Backpackers Hostel in Ko Phangan to be honest. Also, two 1 hour sessions at Surf House Phuket was not enough, especially since we were in a large group. I think a lot of the people in my group were more bothered by the fact that we were split very unevenly between the two sessions for some reason... You could tell TruTravels tries to cut their costs in these areas, but the overall positive experience of the trip outweighed these minor downsides.

From start to finish Dan was class. Made a lot of effort with everyone and was always in high spirits, even when ill - trooper. Had an unreal trip and he genuinely played a big part in that.

Despite that, things listed such as "group dinner" made it sound as if dinner was included on the tour, these, however were not, which was unfortunate. They brought us to specific restaurants, some of which I never would have chosen to eat at and struggled finding something good to eat at, were pricey and we were forced to pay out of pocket. The overnight train we paid for and anticipated also was not included, and instead we took a bus with airplane-like seats, definitely a downgrade when expecting beds on your transportation. This made me wonder where exactly the pricing difference between the bus and train ticket costs went. The Thai boxing class was cool, but was one of the only activities that were actually included. My friends and I had to book other outside events in order to see the floating markets and other big tourist activities. I would not recommend this tour if you are looking for a cultural experience, as it is more of a get drinks on the beach each night type of deal. I honestly was hoping that I would receive explanations as to what was being said at temples and what certain customs were, but the tour was not very informative. Dan Romero seemed more into partying and buying selective girls' drinks than immersing us into the unique culture of Thailand. When I asked him questions, he did not seem very well informed and often just played everything off as a joke. Despite him being a nice guy, I do believe that a different tour guide could have enhanced my experience here. Our group, however, was fortunate enough to have a trainee, Aido, who accompanied us during our travels. Although Aido did not know much regarding Thailand, we did not expect him to unlike Dan, understanding that he was only in training. With that said, Aido was a very down to earth, respectful guy, who I believe is well-deserving of a job with TruTravels. I believe that his personality well-aligned with what TruTravels promotes, and I found him very enjoyable to be around.

All the transportation from the airport went smoothly and I felt safe the entire trip. Dan was awesome, seriously a great guy that genuinely cares about each and every member of the group. My only complaint would be that in some of the more historic places, a little more background knowledge would be appreciated. Also, not being able to take the overnight train was a bummer, but the bus wasn't so bad. Dan made the trip so so much fun, showing us the best local places and always being up for a good time, and when some plans fell through he always had a back up or a way to make the best out of the situation. He does a great job making sure everyone is happy and gets us to some sick locations with always a good attitude and positive outlook. Aido was really fun and I think he would make a great guide once he knows a little more about Thailand. Having P Art there as well to communicate was awesome and really helpful. All and all, I could recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in backpacking Thailand, it was awesome and Dan really is the man, I'll miss everyone on this trip so much. Thanks trutravels!

The Northern Tour guides Hein, Jonjo and Art were incredible - friends from the get go, they organised everything so smoothly and made every experience more fun (even long bus rides). They are really part of the group! Every experience was incredible and every accommodation was perfect - clean, safe, A/C, warm showers... The two weeks flew by because I was loving every minute. The Beaches tour was run by Dan - also an amazing guide, so positive and happy all the time, and brought together a pretty big group - and was such a different experience to the Northern tour, you should definitely do both. There is a perfect amount of flexibility so it still feels like your own trip, there is a perfect balance between activities, chill time and partying, the food was amazing and (again) best of all the people. I would recommend this to ANYONE because I've made friends for life and every fear I had before I came solo completely vanished within the first day. If in doubt just do it anyway - I couldn't be happier that i did ! But once again particular kudos to the amazing guides. The coolest guys ever!

Dan was absolutely incredible, he made it his goal to ensure everyone had the best time possible and was so approachable and reassuring with any questions or problems. He was always organised with travel and activities and became more of a friend than a leader to everyone. Dan has a brilliantly contagious vibe about him which was reflected in the group and the time we had. He's a great guy to hang out and party with, always Including everyone. The trip on the whole exceeded my expectations and the group came together perfectly. It was a truely unforgettable experience with unforgettable people.
Dan was awesome. He showed us the ropes and fully participated. He was just as much a member of the group as anyone else. The overall experience was epic and I'd definitely consider doing it again.

The accommodations were quite nice, only one cold shower. All of the activities were fantastic. From waterfalls to temples and zip-lining to playing with elephants. Every guide I had while on the trip were so nice and always took care of everything so I was never worried about something going wrong. I knew if anything went wrong they would be there to fix it. TruTravels really made my trip a once in a life time experience where I could be completely at ease. I would love to go on another trip with this company again.

They were all amazing. They were all places that you never imagined were real! The floating bungalows were just wow, I loved them so so much. Sammy was our leader and hand on my heart, she was the nicest, kindest, funniest and most helpful tour guide everywhere! There was a group of 5 of us & after the 8 days we were continuing on by ourselves to other islands and also up the north to Chiang Mai. None of us had ever been to Thailand before so we were quite nervous about splitting from the group as we were gonna be out on our own now but Sammy came to our rescue! She gave us advice on where to stay, how to get to places, how long to stay in each place & what to do in each place! She told us to contact her whenever we needed help and she was just the best in every little way! We also had Daniel who was training to be a leader on our tour! Once again, he was so so nice, helpful & funny :) he has a great personality to be a tour guide & if I were to get him as a leader, I would be so happy! He made sure to go around to everyone and ask if they were getting on ok! Himself & sammy worked great as a pair and always made sure to do activities & not get bored! The secret Mountain was also a favourite of mine :) all in all, I would 100% recommend TruTravels, it is so amazing and you will not regret it. I had the time of my life & I'm so happy we went for it as a group! It made everything that bit more easier. Sammy is an absolutely brilliant tour guide and I couldn't have asked for anybody more nicer than her :)

Sammy our main guide took really good care of us, making sure everyone was having a great time and Daniel, who was in training, also made sure everyone was safe and laughing all the time. They were caring souls and I felt at ease with them and would recommend a tour with them in a heartbeat.
The accommodation was generally of a high standard and the places we visited were all absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy I've had this experience and would definitely go on another tour with Trutravels :-)

The group and the tour guides were amazing, within the first few hours I already had this ‘click’ feeling with the group. Having that feeling from the start makes the rest of the journey even more amazing. Colombia has a rich history and has so much to offer, I really enjoyed the cultural parts and ofcourse also the parties. If you have the time and money, just go for it, the experience is worthwhile.
