Overall: My 21 year old daughter and I had an amazing experience with Guided Morocco Tours. Everything was exactly as described. Anwar, the company owner and our driver, was kind, thoughtful and excellent at accommodating our needs and interests. Having never used a tour company for travel before I was nervous about what to expect, but I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to do the highlights of Morocco in a week. Anwar was able to add an extra day in Marrakesh for us, secured us an extra evening at the hotel so we were refreshed when we had to head to the airport at midnight, and got us to the airport in Casablanca for our 6am flights. The vehicle was clean (every morning- despite the mess we left) and comfortable and he is a very safe driver (and some of those roads are harrowing!). The guides who were arranged in Volubilis, Fez and Marrakesh were excellent- knowledgeable and fun to be with. We felt completely safe and taken care of at all times. If we go back, we'l be reaching out to Anwour again. Specifics about arranged experiences: Riad Fez Mahal is in a great location, in a beautiful building with an excellent rooftop and has the loveliest manager. However, the amenities need upgrading- the towels and sheets seemed quite worn and old and there were no tissues in the room. It felt like a downgrade after a lovely night at the Lina Ryad in Chefchaouen, which had posh linens and a perfect location. The camel ride in the desert and Eden Desert Camp were perfection. The Dar Blues lodging in Dades Valley was better than any pictures could do it justice, although charging for water in a place where tourists can't drink tap water is weird- only place that did this. The Art Place Ryad in Marrakesh was very helpful and friendly and the facilities are nice. I personally don't like not having a window that opens for any fresh air, so that was my only issue- felt like sleeping in a coffin. All other accommodations had a window that opened to a courtyard or the outside. The location right on the main square makes for an easy home base in a difficult city to navigate. All included meals were excellent. Some things to consider: This kind of a tour is a lot of time in the car. I knew that going in, and so should you. After the first day we realized the kinds of lunches available on the road are not on par with how we like to eat, so stopping at a Carrefour and grabbing snacks worked better for us and saved some time, and Anwar was happy to structure that for us. The guides in the cities will take you to places where they benefit from you buying, so make sure you have done your research on what things should cost and don't feel obligated to pay more than that. You will see the same things everywhere in the souks in Fez and Marrakesh. It is very hard to know quality, so buying from the shops where they make the products (tanneries, ceramics factory, metal worker, etc) has an appeal; however, I definitely overpaid a lot at the tannery and got completely 'taken' at the ceramics factory in Fez. That's on me- should have done better research in advance. There was no pressure from the guides, but they are definitely steering you to places they have arrangements with. Overall, I'd say you can't go wrong using Guided Morocco Tours - exceeded our expectations.
