This was my second time to Egypt and can’t fault this tour. Our driver was outstanding (handling that Cairo traffic, takes skill and very good driving skills) and he had both. Our guide Wallie what can I say, you want be disappointed if you get him as guide, knowledge of history and all things Egypt is amazing and he was always accommodating to our needs (if we asked to stop somewhere for something he would).

What our customers ask about Alexandria Tours & Trips
What's the best time of year to visit Alexandria?
Alexandria's Mediterranean climate makes spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) the most comfortable seasons for exploring. These months provide mild temperatures perfect for walking along the Corniche waterfront or through the Montazah Gardens. The city experiences humid summers while winters bring occasional rain but stay relatively mild. Visitors often choose to stay at Le Metropole Hotel on Saad Zaghloul Street which provides easy access to main attractions. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The weather was perfect for exploring Alexandria's archaeological sites and taking walks along the Corniche."
How long does it take to travel between Cairo and Alexandria?
The Desert Road connecting Cairo to Alexandria spans roughly 3-4 hours by private vehicle. Tour departures usually begin between 7:00-8:00 AM giving travelers a full day of sightseeing. The Hilton Alexandria Corniche serves as a convenient starting point for city exploration. According to a TourRadar traveler review: "The drive from Cairo to Alexandria was comfortable with scenic desert views though it's worth noting traffic can affect journey times."
What type of food specialties should I try in Alexandria?
The coastal location makes Alexandria a seafood lover's destination with fresh catches served daily at waterfront establishments like Fish Market. Local dishes include fresh grilled fish calamari and Alexandria's unique take on molokhia. The Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria stands out for its refined dining options. How much time should I allocate for exploring Alexandria's main sites?
One full day (10-12 hours) allows visitors to see the key attractions: Bibliotheca Alexandrina Qaitbay Citadel Pompey's Pillar and the Catacombs. A two-day visit provides time to add the Montazah Palace Gardens and explore at a leisurely pace. The historic Cecil Hotel offers central lodging near main sites. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "We managed to see all the main sites in one day but wished we had another day to explore more of the city's hidden gems."
