Bryan, traveled in May
Groups of up to 18 passengers ride in a comfortable Mercedes minibus with one guide, giving everyone window seats to see Kirkjufell Mountain and personal attention during the Vatnajökull glacier hike. The smaller numbers mean flexible stops at spots like Gerðuberg basalt columns and longer photo sessions at Gullfoss waterfall, while Christmas week departures keep the same 18-person limit for safety during ice cave visits. Each person gets individual glacier equipment including crampons and helmets, with certified guides leading 45-minute Crystal Ice Cave tours that wouldn't work with larger crowds.

Reviews of Small Group tours to Iceland
- Best of Iceland
Perfect mix of events and sites.
- Iceland Northern Lights & Golden Circle
Had an amazing time in Iceland with our tour guide Lili, she was amazing! Super driver, cook and tour guide. Only downside I would say was that the tour is advertised as a northern lights tour, but this is more of a self serve activity, there isn’t any excursions to help see them. Although Lili did help give us recommendations where we could spot them in Reykjavík.
- 5 Day - Snæfellsnes & South Coast
A nicely planned trip with a full itinerary. As an observation, a trip with Northern Lights in the title should have a dedicated plan to search for the lights. Each night the response from our guide was, “Be on the lookout tonight and let the group know if you see them.” I thought the food at the hotel Geirland was overpriced and limited in options. The tour itself was nice, and I am glad I took it. Others should be aware of what you may experience.
