Overall pretty good. Of course its budget tour so mainly basic accommodation which is expected. We got a guide for 10 days then another guide for the rest. The tour split into 2 parts. I enjoy meeting new people. I had a great time. Overall enjoyable. There was one mixed up however that I was upset. My meet up hotel on the start of the tour got change. I did not get an email from touradar or g adventure about it at all of the new update. They posted the update on touradar chat that I was doing which of course you dont logged into the website to check. You figured they would sent email on any changed. There I was in a foreign country and showed up and the meet up hotel but no one was there. I panicked, good things the reception at that hotel was so helpful was calling g adventures for me to see what is going on. Turned out they changed the meet up point to a different hotel. Was really stressful first day. Both touradar and g adventures should have communicate better with customers. I contacted g adventures about the mixed up and voice my complaints but no one ever got back to me. Next time please if there are changes in the intineary email or contact the customers to let them know not expect them to know.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter tours through Peru and Ecuador blend prime opportunities for cultural insights and wildlife encounters. Multi-country routes from Bogota to Lima immerse you in indigenous life while moving between vibrant cities, with bicycle explorations through Lima's Miraflores neighborhood and stops at Quito's Middle of the World monument. The comprehensive Peru and Galapagos packages span 15 days and draw many travelers in winter months, beginning in Lima before winding through Cusco's historic lanes and ascending to Machu Picchu. Our guests consistently note how these itineraries manage elevation changes thoughtfully, with dedicated time in Cusco for adjusting before heading to higher ground. In the Galapagos, you'll find yourself face-to-face with sea creatures around Las Tintoreras, while Ecuador's mainland offers rich cultural experiences in markets and colonial quarters. These winter journeys stand out for their smart mix of indoor and outdoor activities - you might explore museums or watch traditional weaving demonstrations in the morning, then set out for hiking trails or snorkeling spots when conditions are just right.

- Spring 2026
Spring tours covering Ecuador and Peru blend cultural discoveries with outdoor experiences over 14-22 days, with departures from either Quito or Lima. Local guides lead you through hidden corners of colonial streets before moving into the Sacred Valley, where seasonal markets come alive with farming demonstrations and cooking classes. The climate makes this the perfect time to visit the Galapagos, and our travelers love mixing snorkeling near reef sharks with walks on volcanic terrain, and kayaking past blue-footed booby nesting grounds. These spring itineraries include well-placed free afternoons that let you photograph Cuenca's terracotta roofs, explore local dining spots, or watch Andean condors glide past. The natural diversity comes from combining Amazon jungle lodge stays, mountain trails through Incan ruins, and island excursions in the Galapagos, which keeps each day distinctly engaging.

- Summer 2026
Our summer tours run 18-22 days and take you through three distinct worlds - from Amazon jungle paths to Andean peaks and finally the Galapagos waters. Local guides share their knowledge of medicinal plants during daytime walks, then lead you into the jungle after dark when different wildlife emerges. Up in the mountains, you'll sit with families who teach traditional weaving in the Sacred Valley and welcome you into their homes on Lake Titicaca's islands. The Galapagos part gets really active with daily snorkeling near curious sea lions at Las Tintoreras, climbing the rocky Sierra Negra volcano and watching giant tortoises lumber across the Santa Cruz highlands. Many of our travelers say the cooking classes are a highlight - they learn to make proper encebollado tuna soup using fresh local ingredients and time-tested methods.

How Can You Best Combine Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands?
You know these are two incredible destinations and combining them actually works really well. Start with Machu Picchu up in the Peruvian Andes it's this amazing ancient Incan city then hop on a flight to Ecuador for your Galapagos adventure. The nice thing is there are plenty of tours that handle all the logistics like the Galapagos & Inca Trail Adventure which sorts out those internal flights from Quito to the Galapagos and Quito to Lima so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Should You Choose the Amazon in Ecuador or Peru?
Look both are fantastic but they're quite different experiences. Peru's got the bigger chunk of rainforest and places like Tambopata National Reserve are amazing for wildlife spotting. Ecuador's Amazon might be smaller but you get these really unique experiences like cycling through Shandia and staying with local Quichua families in Pimpilala. Budget-wise Ecuador tends to be a bit easier on the wallet than Peru. The Quito to La Paz Amazon & Ancient Cultures tour is a great example with that authentic Quichua family homestay in Pimpilala.
How Do You Deal with Altitude When Visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu?
The altitude thing is definitely something to take seriously. Your best bet is spending a few days in Cusco first just wandering around and exploring the Sacred Valley that really helps your body adjust before heading to Machu Picchu. Keep drinking water skip the alcohol and coffee and try some coca tea it's what locals have used forever. Tours like the Galapagos & Inca Trail Adventure are smart about this they've got different routes including the Quarry Trail where you can acclimatize at 3700 meters which works really well.
What Local Experiences Can You Find Beyond the Tourist Spots?
There's so much authentic culture to discover here. In Ecuador you can learn chocolate-making in Shandia or live with a Quichua family in the Amazon seeing how they really live day to day. Peru's got amazing experiences too like visiting the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco or meeting salt miners in Maras who still use ancient techniques. The Quito to La Paz tour includes this great visit to a women's weaving co-op in Ccaccaccollo where you'll see traditional weaving and meet their resident llamas.
