What people love about Family Tours in Arctic / North Pole
- Scandinavian Northern Lights
Our Travel Director, Lasse Damstoft, excelled in his role and greatly enhanced the overall experience, creating lasting memories for all involved.
- Aurora & Glass Igloo Explorer - 5 Days
The tours and hotel stay were excelent. The staff and tour guides were very friendly, caring and bent over backwards to help. All the tours and transfers were timed to perfection, no one was late.
- Helsinki to Kirkenes - Beyond the Arctic Circle
We had the best time. This tour offered everything we were looking for when planning our trip. Our tour guide was good, but she did seem to google a lot of our questions but she got to where we needed to go on time. The day we flew back to Helsinki from Ivalo was kind of a wasted day. It would have been nice to have flown back the night before and had a day in Helsinki to do more exploring or go to a museum or fly back later in the day and have an excursion planned for the morning in Ivalo. The tour overall didn’t disappoint and we enjoyed every minute of it.

What are the best family-friendly activities available in the Arctic/North Pole region?
The Arctic region combines adventure with family fun through activities that appeal to all ages. Children can experience husky sledding in Rovaniemi and meet the energetic dogs that power these traditional sleds. Reindeer safaris at Sami farms give families a close look at Arctic culture while Santa Claus Village in Finnish Lapland brings holiday magic year-round. Many families opt to view the Northern Lights from glass igloos at properties like Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. A recent guest shared "Going to Lapland in winter was always a dream. This did not disappoint... loved the day trips we did and the accommodation was amazing."

As noted by one visitor: "The accommodations were perfect for families from cozy hotels to the amazing glass-roofed cabins where we watched the Northern Lights."

Tromsø and Finnish Lapland give the highest chances of seeing the Northern Lights in winter while Swedish Lapland's mild summer temperatures suit outdoor exploration.
What is the recommended age for children traveling to the Arctic?
Most Arctic activities welcome children age 5 and older though some places like the Treehotel in Harads accept 3-year-olds.
