Pedal through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain on Hvar Island, cycling across 2,400-year-old agricultural fields along quiet coastal roads that lead to Hvar town. You'll cycle on your own from Venice through the quiet River Sile valley, passing the medieval Torre Caligo tower ruins on the way to Jesolo's Adriatic beaches. The route takes you through Portogruaro's Venetian-style streets, once an important river port for the Serenissima, before catching a boat from Marano Lagunare to see Aquileia's Roman ruins. Then you'll ride along the white cliffs from Duino through Sistiana to Trieste and cross into Slovenia, passing Sečovlje's salt marshes where they still extract sea salt naturally.

Pedaling independently from Mestre, you'll follow the River Sile to the fishing village of Caorle and cross the endless beaches of Litorale di Cavallino with ferry access to Punta Sabbioni. The route covers 30-85 km daily on well-marked paths through Marano Lagunare's lagoon edges to Grado, then into Slovenia via Koper and Izola to Piran's Riviera.
