What people love about Self-Guided Tours in Mont Blanc
We had an amazing time hiking the Tour de Mont Blanc. Apart from a misunderstanding about beds on the first 2 nights we were provided with superb and very varied accommodation throughout, meals were great, and fortunately had good weather. The routeplanner maps were at times unclear and misleading but we mainly used the NGR maps, supplied. The route followed by this guide does not include all sections of the TMB and we did add in a couple of extra sections from the maps where possible. The initial 3 or 4 days were much easier than expected and we could have walked for another 2 or 3 hours these days and then managed the full circuit. It would have been better for us to get the cable car direct from Chamonix instead of missing this section and starting at Flegere. We had many free hours that day when we arrived at the destination. Otherwise superb organisation, bags always waiting.... And when I got injured I was, taken with my bag to the next hotel no trouble at all!

We were really lucky to be able to join this tour despite the on-going situation across Europe. The trails were calm and not at all crowded. The views were superb! We only had one day of rainfall. All in all great experience!

Overall a well planned and fun trip. However, there were some times when transportation between towns was a big issue. We almost became stranded multiple times. However, this is an issue of the area, not a reflection on the tour agency. The grand angle team was very responsive and quick to help with any questions. I do wish that the itinerary included more information on local bus stops, train stations and schedules. We had several days where some members of our group were unable to do the hike planned OR weather was not permitting, and we had to do all our own research to figure out how to get to the next location. It would also be nice to have more information about local attractions listed for each town as well, in case hiking is not an option. The views, of course, were unbeatable.
