Svalbard and the tour curated by Tourradar was amazing. The sites and experiences are indescribable. Likewise the crew of the Ocean Albatros go above and beyond the call of duty to make their guests feel very welcome and satsified with the excursions provided. This was not only my first trip to Europe, but my first cruise too. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to reach the top of the world and do so in a budget-friendly (despite still being very expensive) fashion.

What our customers ask about Svalbard Tours & Trips
What wildlife will I see in Svalbard?
You'll find an amazing variety of Arctic wildlife here. Polar bears are definitely the stars but there's so much more - walruses lounging on beaches, Svalbard reindeer wandering the tundra Arctic foxes darting around and lots of whales and seals in the waters. Head to Alkhornet bird cliff and you might catch Arctic foxes hunting for eggs or over at Prins Karls Forland you'll often see walruses sprawled out on the beach. The wildlife viewing is incredible - imagine watching polar bears hunting on ice floes or seeing thousands of Brünnich's guillemots nesting on the massive cliffs at Alkefjellet. Keep your camera ready because these moments happen when you least expect them.
When's the best time to catch the Northern Lights?
If you're hoping to see the Northern Lights you'll want to visit during polar night from mid-November through late January. Longyearbyen gets properly dark then which makes it perfect for aurora viewing. There's this great Northern Lights Evening experience at Camp Barentz about 10km outside town where you get dinner and learn all about the lights while watching them dance overhead. It runs until December 29 2019 and if it's not available when you visit they'll sort you out with a husky or snowmobile adventure instead.
