What people love about Great Ocean Road Tours for Couples
- 3 Day Great Ocean Road & Grampians Melbourne Loop Tour (Accommodated)
I really enjoyed this tour. It was well organised and adaptable to the changing (hot!) weather conditions. Starts off with driving along to great scenery on the Great Ocean Road. Then visiting the usual spots at the Twelve Apostles with many other tourists..... after that then it’s even better as so few other people around the coast. A chance for a swim too! Really enjoyed the hike up in the Grampians and down to the waterfall. Our guide came up with a suggestion for those that didn’t want to hike to the waterfall. Halls Gap is a lovely and very friendly Little town. The morning tea and rolls on the first day and BBQ on second evening were a nice touch to the trip. The guide we had, Darren, was awesome. One of the best I’ve travelled with. So much passion for the job and knowledge of everywhere we went to. Plus he was upper organised and helpful and engaging. I’d recommend this trip.
- 3 Day Melbourne to Adelaide Overland Adventure Tour (Accommodated)
Enjoyed the itinerary, accommodations, and guides commentary.
- 3 Day Adelaide to Melbourne Overland Adventure Tour (Accommodated)
The tour gave a wonderful insight into the landscape of this part of Australia. The tour leader, Chris, did an excellent job to ensure everyone's expectations were realised.
What our customers ask about Romantic Great Ocean Road Trips & Honeymoon Packages
What's the best time to visit the Great Ocean Road for couples?
For a couple's trip, summer from December to February is great - you'll get warm days around 77°F (25°C) perfect for beach time together. Spring (September to November) is also really nice with temperatures near 68°F (20°C), plus you'll find fewer tourists and pretty wildflowers along the coast. Don't write off winter though - from June to August you can cozy up at places like the Warrnambool Motel and watch powerful waves crash against the cliffs, even if it's cooler at around 57°F (14°C). One of our travelers told us: "We visited in October and it was perfect - warm enough for outdoor activities but not too crowded, and the spring flowers made everything extra special."
What unique experiences can couples share on Great Ocean Road tours?
You can share some really special moments together - sip wines at Wynn's Coonawarra Winery, take quiet walks through the rainforests of Great Otway National Park, or watch the sun set at the Twelve Apostles. The tour takes you through Melbourne's hidden laneways, lets you spot animals at Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, and drives you along some of Australia's most beautiful coastline. You can also see native wildlife together at Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. As one of our travelers shared: "The wine tasting experience at Coonawarra was so intimate and special - definitely a highlight for us as a couple."
Where are the best photo spots for couples along the Great Ocean Road?
You'll find endless spots for beautiful photos together. The Twelve Apostles look amazing in the soft light of sunrise or sunset, and Loch Ard Gorge offers dramatic ocean backdrops. You can take photos at the Memorial Arch, catch some koalas in your shots at Kennett River, or snap pictures together on the peaceful walking trails in Great Otway National Park. One traveler told us: "The morning light at the Twelve Apostles was perfect for photos - we got some amazing couples shots that we'll treasure forever."
What special romantic options can couples add to their tour?
You can make your trip extra special with upgrades like staying at the Savoy Hotel on Little Collins in Melbourne or the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cairns. Some tours let you arrange private wine tastings at Wynn's Coonawarra Winery or book special dinners with ocean views. You can also choose tours that include sunrise viewing at the Twelve Apostles. A recent traveler mentioned: "We upgraded our accommodation package and it was worth every penny for the extra romantic touches."
What dining options do couples have along the Great Ocean Road?
You'll find lots of romantic places to eat, from small cafes in Apollo Bay to fancy meals at Lambert Estate in the Barossa Valley. Port Campbell has some great seafood restaurants where you can eat while watching the ocean. Your tour will also stop at small wineries like Wynn's Coonawarra for wine tasting. One traveler remembered: "The seafood restaurants in Port Campbell were amazing - we had such romantic dinners watching the sunset over the ocean."
