Evenings usually pass on deck, with the sky changing colour and the boats settling for the night. After a while, the hours don’t seem to matter much.

Very nice trip, you need the 2 night package to enjoy a full day. Would be nice to know what boat you are getting as you don't know until you get there. You don't always go out for the day with the rest of the passengers as many have there own itinerary.

Hanoi and Siem Reap 6 Days 5 NightsOverall, this was a great tour that emphasized wonderful attractions in and around the cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap and Luang Prabang. The tour guides that we had in each of these areas were superb, local guides that knew the facts and histories of the sites that we visited. All 3 had great communication skills, and were enthusiastic when presenting. They paid great attention to our needs throughout each day. Our thanks to each of them: Mr. Tuan in Ho Chi Minh City Mr. Sun in Siem Reap Mr. Vat in Luang Prabang In previous tours that we have taken, we have had a tour guide that was physically with us throughout the tour. Someone who stepped in to handle tickets, visas, transportation, etc. In this tour, the tour guide is not physically present, but rather was a WhatsApp contact that checked in once a day with instructions for the next day. Although this worked fairly well through most of the tour, I believe that his physical presence may have changed the circumstances we faced in our transportation between Ho Chi Minh City and Luang Prabang. It was a 2 part trip in which we took a nice, luxury bus from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh. The second part of the journey that took us onward to Luang Prabang, however, was chaotic and frightening to say the least. After delays from the original start time, we were loaded on a 12 passenger van that was not equipped with a luggage space. Thankfully, it wasn't full, so we were able to put our luggage aboard. Our driver was not only a bus/van driver, but he was a courier as well. We made 3 odd stops along the way in which he would deliver and/or pick up a package. We also had a couple of country stops where he dropped off what we assumed to be family members or friends by the constant conversation they were having. One had a sick kid that we had to stop for twice as he was making constant retching noises from the back seat. To add to our delay, we also had to stop for a half hour to recharge the van as it was an EV. But, overall, his driving was frightening. We were going in and out of oncoming traffic constantly, aggressively pushing the limit when it came to passing other motorists. The overall time on this leg of the journey was 6 hours; 6 very unnerving hours. I would like to think that the tour company's plans were different than how it turned out.
