Budget Tours & Trips to Croatia Reviews
- 8-day Split Return cruise, Classic Plus boat, 18-35s
This was a spectacular cruise. I stayed on the Novi Dan and had Jovana and Luna as the guides. They worked very hard to make sure every passenger had a good time. They provided history of each location, advice on places to visit for fun or recreation and continued to show positive attitude no matter the circumstance. The crew was very proactive and took us to good swimming spots everyday. The chef cooked 5-star quality food. Each dish was different everyday, you won't be disappointed. If you are traveling to Croatia the first time and want to go along the coast, I highly recommend this tour. It gave you the freedom to see different cities and have multiple activity choices. You'll have plenty of time to see everything, see the nightlife or relax if you choose. 5-stars to the captain, chef, crew, and tour guides!
- 5-day Dubrovnik to Split, Classic Plus, 18-35s
We enjoyed the tour a lot! There were some initial problems with my dietary requirements, which I requested during booking, but that was solved quickly. The food (lunch) was surprisingly good. We had wanted more swim stops, the amount of time spent in the individual port was good. Luna is a great guide and the crew overall was super friendly and professional. I 100% recommend this tour and will definitely do another sail with them or GoTurkey!
- Sail Split to Dubrovnik / Premier Boat
Amazing trip. Dora was an amazing guide with a lot of knowledge and helped us out a lot. Would highly recommend to tour with Dora (the explorer)
What our customers ask about Budget Tours & Trips to Croatia
When is the most affordable time to visit Croatia on a budget tour?
Plan your Croatia visit during April May and October to find the best deals. During these months tourist numbers drop and prices follow suit. At Krka National Park entrance fees cost 16 USD instead of the peak season price of 30 USD. Tour companies often reduce their rates by up to 30% during these months. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Going in October meant fewer crowds and lower prices while still having great weather for hiking in Paklenica National Park."
What are some of the best budget-friendly areas to visit in Croatia?
Split stands out as a budget-conscious traveler's ideal base with reasonable accommodation prices and easy island connections. The city of Pula combines Roman history with beach access at wallet-friendly prices. In Zadar you'll find free attractions like the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation. For nature and history enthusiasts Korčula and Mljet offer cost-effective outdoor activities. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Split was an incredible base for exploring with the hostel right in Diocletian's Palace making it easy to explore the historic sites and catch ferries to nearby islands."
What budget-friendly activities are included in most Croatia tours?
Standard tour packages include city walking tours in Split and Dubrovnik national park visits to Plitvice Lakes and Krka and time at Dalmatian coast beaches. Tours typically cover Split's Diocletian's Palace exploration and Plitvice Lakes' wooden walkway systems. According to a TourRadar traveler: "The included walking tours and national park visits were excellent value especially the Plitvice Lakes tour which was a highlight."
What is the average daily budget I can expect for a budget tour in Croatia?
Expect to spend between 94-160 USD per day which covers lodging some meals and guided activities. The Hotel Vicko in Starigrad-Paklenica gets positive reviews from TourRadar travelers for its value and service. Budget extra for park entrance fees such as Plitvice Lakes at 30 USD during peak season and optional activities like white water rafting at 60 USD.
How much should I budget for meals not included in the tour price?
Set aside 25-35 USD daily for meals outside the tour package. Local konobas serve substantial meals for 10-15 USD while quick bites at cafes cost 5-8 USD. One TourRadar traveler noted: "We found great local restaurants in Split where we could get a filling meal with wine for under 20 USD per person. The food at local markets was even more budget-friendly."
Are there any hidden costs I should be aware of on budget Croatia tours?
Keep cash ready for port taxes around 40 USD per person on sailing tours plus national park entrance fees ranging from 15-30 USD and optional activities. A helpful tip from a TourRadar traveler states: "Don't forget to budget for the port tax which must be paid in cash on day 1 and keep some extra money for entrance fees to places like Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Park."
