This is our third tour booked through TourRadar and Lee with Asia Focus Travel provided us the fastest responses and updates. Within 48 hours of booking, we had received an itinerary that included the hotels and information on the cruise portion, giving us plenty of time to look at the area around our accomodations for restaurants and such. For the two nights in Hanoi (nights 1 and 3) we stayed in the Mường Thanh Grand Hà Nội Centre Hotel. The food tour on the first night was very good, we ate quite a few places with a good mix of food. The second day we traveled by limo bus to Sapa. The journey there was comfortable, as the vehicle had large reclining massage seats and wifi. The driver was also pleasant and there were two stops along the way. Due to an accident, we arrived in Sapa later than planned, but Lee and our guide in Sapa talked and there were no issues. Our guide in Sapa was excellent and made the trip through Cat Cat Village good, and helped us move through the lines at Fansipan Mountain quickly. While in Sapa, we stayed at the Sapa Vista Hotel and were treated to lunch and breakfast at the hotel kitchen. I did enjoy the trek up Fansipan, however my partner was under the weather and chose not to go to the summit with me. There is a large food hall where the cable car drops off passengers and the option to talk an incline elevator the rest of the way to the summit (for additional fee) if taking the 600 steps to the top is too much. After the trip back to Hanoi and our stay the third night, we caught a bus to Ha Long Bay that was provided by the cruise company. The cruise was on the Le Journey Premium Cruise 4 Star boat, a wooden boat with a good crew. I do not have the Google Reviews linked, as the reviews are for all four cruise types which are on different boats, and make it really confusing whether it is a good cruise or not. The Premium cruise is very bare-bones, the room was tight, but the food was good and the crew made the stay good. Ha Long Bay does have a lot of cruises and they all seem to have a similar, if not the same, schedule, so the stops in the bay are pretty crowded. Due to that, if you want a better experience, you might ask for an upgrade on the cruise and maybe skip something like Ti Top Island, since the 'panaromic hike' is more of a line up stairs to an area where you are fighting for the opportunity to enjoy the view with people trying to pose for pictures (this sounds bitter, but the stop was about an hour and you really do spend the entire time in a line up and down the stairs, turning a 10-15 minute hike into a 30 minute wait on the stairs), and instead enjoy the time on the boat. Overall, this was a really good tour, booked shortly before our visit, that allowed us to see quite a bit of northern Vietnam. Lee was fantastic, answered questions as soon as we asked them and with the one issue we had went above and beyond to apologize to us, even though it wasn't any thing they were responsible for. I appreciated having our Itinerary with hotels, dates, and numbers provided prior to arrival and would gladly recommend anyone book a tour through Asia Focus Travel if visiting Vietnam.
