The excursions were fun like the hot air balloon ride, horse and buggy tour of Luxor, and Nubian Village. There were early mornings and fast paced days so need to be flexible but worth it.

I can’t rave enough about what a wonderful experience this was to fulfill my dream to be able to go to Egypt. My friend had done this same tour last year and had such a great time so we went as a family of four adults. This was a big change for us to go on a group tour as we usually do private, but we felt that there is safety numbers and because this group tour was priced so well as long as we went with an open mind, we would have a good time!
The good: We adored Ali, who helped with transfers in Cairo and Mohamed, who was the Tour ground person who got us all set up (and I swear that man never sleeps!) A different Mohamed was our driver for two of the pre trip days and I can’t believe that somebody can actually drive in the city. He was so cautious and helpful and smiled all day! We loved Ahmed in Cairo for our private pre trip City tour. He was so knowledgeable and also was kind enough to add in the Civilization museum to fulfill my dream of seeing mummies up close. Having him take us through the museum to show us the highlights and give us such great explanations was incredible. Abdul (Abdou) in Cairo was by far one of the best guides we’ve ever had in our lifetime and we travel a lot! He even was an archaeologist at Saqqura and brought such great insight to our tour. We were lucky to have him again when we joined the group tour. He gave us the most amazing explanations at the pyramids, coordinated a quick sit on a camel and was so incredible at the Gem museum. I wish we had had more time at the museum and if I could’ve stayed longer in Cairo I would have returned.
Ash, our tour guide on all the days on the Cruise was so knowledgeable and kind and caring and thorough and managed our large group very well. He guided us so well through all of the major sites with explanations and tips on how to navigate. He used WhatsApp to communicate the upcoming schedule for the day which we really appreciated.
This is a very comprehensive tour and you will see all of the important highlights but you must know that there are a lot of early mornings and very little free time for shopping or exploring outside of the schedule. We were prepared for this and this shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, but just be aware.
And now the critique that pains me to write because truly, this was such an amazing tour, and the people were so wonderful and I did like everything except…
We were told that the Tour group would be 15 to 24 max and it is advertised this way. Our group was 37. We thoroughly enjoyed the people that were on the tour who were from all over the world, but 37 is just too many people, creates longer periods of time to gather, you are further away from guides to hear, and slows down pacing, and we had no recourse.
The Gewan hotel was definitely not a nice hotel. The first two rooms our children received did not have locking doors but the hotel rectified it and got them a new room but all of that takes time away from your trip. On the return trip with a stop over before leaving Cairo, the hotel room smelled horrible and there were non-working lights and limited towels. Again, not something that would prevent me from recommending this trip…the sheets were clean, breakfast buffet and boxes were fine, and you’re not really spending much time in the hotel, just be aware.
We were on the MS Renaissance for the cruise. The room was nice and adequate and the staff was truly lovely. Internet service was awful and made it challenging to check in and we had to keep going to the front desk for them to help us re-login. Also, you’re only given one key to the room but they did give us two when we insisted. However, our keys had to continually be reprogrammed . We did miss one of the tours (crocodile temple) because there was a delay in getting through the locks which was not their fault at all, but just something that happens. The massage on the ship was fabulous. The crew staff could not do enough to make sure we were all happy. The beds were comfortable and room size was fine. We did not look the food on the ship but our server (Mosuafa) was always attentive.
On the second to last night of our trip, I got injured (fell down) and thankfully I had medical insurance on my own. The cruise ship called the Dr. to the boat who saw me and my insurance company coordinated for me to get home in a lay flat seat. Don’t skip getting evacuation insurance on the side…it is so important! Getting injured was a challenge because boat did not have an elevator and we were on the fourth floor. The staff was so great in helping me get up the stairs. (They carried me Cleopatra style in a wheelchair) Ash, our tour guide was incredible in making sure that I was able to go on the last day tours by having somebody from the ship go along to assist me and told the tuktuk driver to go slowly so I wouldn’t get bumped. I’m so grateful for that as the Nubian village is not something to miss! Ash, our guide, went above and beyond by taking my husband to the pharmacy to pick up some things for me and also taking my son to a book shop as he didn’t want him to go alone. We are very grateful that we had Ash as our guide.
Also, originally we were not going to do the balloon ride because I’m deathly afraid of balloons, but I’m so glad that we didn’t skip it. The early morning wake up call to get there before sunrise was absolutely worth it. Another highlight was the add-on of the horse drawn carriage ride through the city. Do not miss that! It is something we will never forget.
All in all, group travel is not what we were used to, but going to Egypt with this Tour Company is something I would definitely suggest to other people and I would recommend going but just know what the shortcomings are. If you go in with a good attitude and know that all they want to do is make you happy and share their country, you will come out with beautiful memories and feeling very grateful for having gone on the trip.

Both agencies were prompt, clear, and reliable in their communication, before and during the trip. In addition, the TourRadar representative remained available and responsive throughout the journey, which made us feel secure and well supported at all times.

Our experience in Egypt was outstanding and enriched by the presence of two highly qualified Egyptologists, each covering a different part of the journey.
In Cairo, Abdul, our Egyptologist, guided us through the city and also led us through the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). His knowledge, clarity, and ability to place the exhibits in proper historical context made the visit to this remarkable museum truly impressive.
Following Cairo, we experienced the Nile boat tour, which was a unique and unforgettable experience. From Cairo to Aswan, we were accompanied by Ashraf Roma, whose deep expertise, engaging explanations, and passion for Egyptian history added real value to every site we visited. The combination of expert guidance, smooth logistics, and the magnificent views at the historical sites along the Nile made this part of the trip truly special.
Throughout Egypt, the organization was seamless, the pacing was well balanced, and the hotels were very good, comfortable, and well located, allowing us to rest properly after full days of exploration.
Jordan
Our experience in Jordan was equally impressive. Upon arrival in Amman, the local operator from Flow Travel met us inside the airport, handled all paperwork on our behalf, and helped us skip all the lines, making the arrival process effortless and stress-free.
Our driver in Amman, Mowafa, was professional, punctual, and very pleasant, contributing greatly to the overall comfort of our stay. The coordination, transportation, and local support in Jordan were excellent and reflected a high level of professionalism.
Overall, my wife and I were extremely pleased with the entire trip. The combination of knowledgeable guides, efficient local agencies, excellent communication, and thoughtful logistics made this a truly rewarding experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience both Egypt and Jordan in a short period of time, without compromising on quality, depth, or comfort.

After arriving hotel (early morning) we had a lovely sit down with Mohamed who help us organize our sightseeing adventures while on Egypt. He assured that everything ran smoothly and efficiently and was quick to step in if needed!! We saw him every morning and evening in Cairo and he always checked to make sure we had enjoyed the outing of the day!! We were so well-cared for and I highly recommend this tour!!! We used the hotel laundry service and the staff member who delivered our clothes insisted it was cash only and quoted a price about 150 EGP higher than what the front desk later confirmed. The front desk accepted credit cards and honored the correct price. This felt like an attempted scam.
Communication and Tour Operator ★★☆☆☆
I had to contact the tour operator myself on the first evening to ask about the next morning’s pickup time which was less than 12 hours away. When I pointed out that he had not contacted us, he said “that’s your fault, you could have called me earlier, you have my number.” This felt rude and unprofessional.
This is the only tour I have taken where I had to repeatedly chase the operator for basic information.
Food Scheduling and Daily Planning ★★☆☆☆
Meal timing was poorly managed. Breakfast was usually before 7am but lunches were often between 2pm and 4pm with no snack stops and very limited water breaks. I never felt properly fed during the land portion of the trip.
Outside of the days with Ashraf, we received almost no details about the timing of activities beyond the pickup time which made us feel unprepared and confused.
Nile Cruise Boat ★★★★☆
Pros
• Rooms were spacious for a river cruise boat
• Housekeeping kept both rooms and common areas very clean
• Food had a wide selection and was generally good
Cons
• The free “cocktail hour” was actually mocktails and not enough were made for everyone
• Drinks were expensive and not included so bringing your own sodas and waters is recommended
• Some cooks refused to serve food unless guests smiled which felt uncomfortable and was mostly directed at women and girls

• Made the entire cruise significantly more enjoyable
He is truly beyond a five star rating which is why he is a 7.
Added Costs ★★☆☆☆
The tour operator charges 165 dollars per person for entry tickets. We opted out and bought the tickets ourselves and saved about 8 dollars per person. Purchasing independently was easy.
The tipping pool was 60 dollars per person which felt excessive. We opted out because we do not believe in tipping for a service before a service is rendered and found that tipping staff directly felt more fair and resulted in better interactions.
Optional Excursions ★★★☆☆
Alexandria
The tour itself was fine but it took 5 hours to reach Alexandria because of traffic which made the day very long.
Carriage Ride
Our favorite optional excursion. Very enjoyable and the horse appeared well cared for.
Sound and Light Show
Not worth 60 dollars per person. Crowds blocked the view with phones and the audio glitched during the final section.
Hot Air Balloon
Cancelled but refunded.
Abu Simbel
Departure at 4am and 3 to 4 hours each way. Very beautiful but rushed and stressful with guards shouting for people to keep moving.
Nubian Village
Very enjoyable with a great Nile boat ride.
Additional Notes
• Abu Simbel and the Nubian Village were scheduled on the same day so guests who did not book at least one optional excursion remained on the boat all day. The Nubian Village should be included in the base itinerary
• The perfumery had interesting products but was expensive and the salesman was not receptive to guests speaking quietly even when someone was simply translating
• The Cairo to Luxor airport instructions were given by the tour operator and were extremely unclear. The entire group spent about 10 minutes running around like headless chickens trying to figure out where to go while he immediately drove off
• Flights were booked in scattered groupings for booking purposes which separated families at check in even though all passengers still flew on the same flight times
• We were supposed to visit the High Dam before an evening flight but were instead moved to a 12:30pm flight that was only booked five days earlier. The tour operator never even mentioned the missed High Dam visit and it felt like they were hoping we forgot about it

Our guide for most of the journey was Ashraf, who was very keen in speaking to us not only about Pharaonic civilization, but about Egyptian daily life as well. I really appreciated the personable approach he had during the tour. The tour organizer, Mohammed, did a fantastic job at accommodating our travel tastes and needs for both me and my grandmother who is 80 years old, he and Omar did the utmost to make us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our travels. I highly recommend booking with Beyond the Nile Tours for a memorable experience, it truly allowed us to create so many memories.

Ashraf is by nature a kind person, smile and full of passion taking care of every need on this trip with a lot patience and attention. By far he was the highlight of the trip. At the end of the trip company owner Mr. Ahmed met us to ensure we had a good time and spent time with us on feedbacks. By far Mr. Ahmed do care and shows passion about his guests having a great in Egypt. To the point, that he personally drove us back to airport with his car to ensure detailed things of this trip is being taken care of. 5 stars. We will recommend this tour to our friends and family.

He is passionate about Egypt and we honestly all felt like part of his family throughout the tour. So many laughs and memories. I also need to give a shout out to the chef on our Nile River Cruise ship Regency. Being a coeliac in Egypt I was extremely uncertain about the food but special meals were created for me plus most of the food on the buffet was gluten free and so many desserts and I was walked around the buffet every sitting to identify Gluten Free. We absolutely loved all of the tour and a huge thankyou again to Ashraf.

Buffet on the Cruise was excellent. There are always little things that pop up that challenge you during any tour. Everyone did their best to help and accomidate everyone. Each days activities whether planned or excursions have a friendly guide to help out and return to the hotel (or ship) For relaxation. I was lucky to have a group that became good friends and commaraderie throughout the tour. This tour company does organizing really well as they do several tour-groups that come and go at the same time. i would never have been able to do as much as we did alone. I went as a single and paid the single suppliment...this would be very reasonable sharing this as a double occupancy. I would recommend doing it with this company as they are a well oiled machine versus a smaller company but hiccups do occur as with any tour group. If i did this tour again i would use them again.

The tour would be better if this was a three week tour to include all the activities we did each day. The tours were good, but they seemed rushed and crowded into a short period of time. The strenuous walking and the fast pace destroyed me, a 72 year-old handicapped man. I thought I might be able to participate, but it was too much for me. The tour operators tried to accommodate me, but it was to much.
Overall the tour was good, but the overload of information and number of tours included were too much.

The hotels and the Nile cruise were first class, and the food on the cruise was absolutely delicious.
Our tour guide from Luxor to Aswan, Mr. Ashraf, was truly the highlight of the trip. He was so well spoken, explained everything clearly and passionately, and made the history come alive. He also went above and beyond to take care of everyone in the group…from helping people sort out SIM cards to arranging special excursions seamlessly.
The Egyptian hospitality was amazing throughout. The hot air balloon ride and Abu Simbel excursion are absolute must-dos. It’s astounding how many historic sites we were able to visit in one trip. the entire experience is awe-inspiring.
And most importantly, as a solo female traveler, the country feels safe. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone considering Egypt.

Our guide from Luxor to Aswan (in the Nile cruise) was Ashraf and he was truly awesome and gave us perfect balance of information and free time to explore the place. We got the luxury cruise of Cleopatra and had a very good experience with the staff there as well. Overall highly recommend the tour. Way to go !!! Thanks for the memories!!!

The itinerary was excellent with enough down time between visits to rest and recover. However the 2, 3am starts were not appreciated. One was unavoidable but better organisation would have prevented the other. The only major complaint I had was the treatment i received by the organiser in Cairo. We met for the first time at 8pm after a full day tour. I was tired and hungry. I was instructed to wait in the lobby for him. 30minutes later he came back and proceeded to draw up an itinerary on the back of a document. I was instructed to take a photo of this because it was my copy of the itinerary. Very unprofessional. I found his attitude rude and arrogant. This seemed to be the attitude of most of the other guest too.

All the transport was very well organised and we really felt the benefit of being in a small group.
Yes, there were some early starts and the optional extras added to this, but without them we wouldn't have been able to see so much and , hey, you can always sleep when you get home.
The boat was good, the cabins clean and staff very helpful.
One small point, whilst I couldn't fault the range and variety, if you like your cooked food to be hot then get there early otherwise you might be disappointed.

The tour was excellent throughout although one should be aware of some pretty early starts that make the tour full on. That said otherwise we would not have seen the amount that we did. A special call out to9 our guide on the cruise ship Ashram rama who was consistently superb from communications to knowledge about not only what we were viewing but all sorts of other elements of Egyptian History. and with chaperoning us through the plethora of market stalls and vendors with sage advice (including helping quietly with some bargaining)
We had the add on trips for Abu simbel ( a 3 hour trip each way from Aswan but worth it), an evening Felucca Ride organised at the last minute, The Nubian Village(absolutely superb, including holding a crocodile), T# &the carriage tour of Luxor (one of my wifes highlights). We skipped the early morning balloon trip but were told it was fantastic.
We only had half a day in GEM museum but tbh its overwhelming with the shear amount of things to see,you really need probably 3 visits to get a proper idea
The Hotel Gewan was excellent and Cruise boat also with very good food throughout our trip.
Communications throughout the trip were managed via a group specific Whatsapp group where we also shared photos. Make sure that everyone on trip has access to this from start as they seemed to use only the numbers of those who made the initial booking.
Great Memories and whetted an appetite to maybe go back again
We also elected to add on two days for a trip to Alexandria and a tour(half day) of old Cairo, again guides and restaurants chosen were excellent.
Now admittedly sometimes the itinerary did not allow perhaps quite as much time in places as we might have liked but by the same token we were shown highlights and managed to avoid too much sensory or information overload.
We would highly recommend the tour to anyone wanting to see some ( a small fraction) of egyptian heritage.
A couple of things to bear in mind. Many toilets require 20 egyptian pounds for use, cash only, so try and prepare by getting plenty of change in advance. Although most toilets have improved in last decade, it is still advisable to take toilet paper with you rather than try to buy from people outside the facilities.
Drivers and guides will also require tipping (at your discretion).
Be prepared to buy extra bottles of water particularly in spring/summer.
If you should buy spice remember that you can probably negotiate to even as low as a third of first price they mention. Never be afraid to walk away (they may still lower price again)
Now a slight downside. Our Tour Manager while dealing with various issues we had with flights and re-arranging trips was not as communicative as we might have liked. It sometimes seemed as if we were expected to accept whatever was said without discussion and on occasion debate about things was shutdown rather abruptly. More than one lady on our trip and others we spoke to seemed to think he preferred to deal with men (maybe that is a cultural thing).

The boat for the Nile cruise was clean and comfortable, its staff eager to help. The food on the cruise was varied with choices for every palate.

The tour guides are terrific: Abdou in Cairo, an archaeologist, was a fountain of information as you toured the pyramids and the GEM museum. And you couldn't ask for a better guide on our Nile cruise …The tour guides are terrific: Abdou in Cairo, an archaeologist, was a fountain of information as you toured the pyramids and the GEM museum. And you couldn't ask for a better guide on our Nile cruise than Ashraf. So knowledgeable and friendly. A total delight to spend time with. The accommodations, the Gewan hotel in Cairo and Renaissance cruise ship, were top notch. The down sides were the chaos when things didn't go according to plan, since the group was left on its own for airport departures. When our 6 am flight to Luxor was delayed many hours, one of our group had to take the initiative to get a new flight arranged. And be forewarned you will likely be very sleep deprived with the early hours. Many people regretted doing the Abu Simbel tour, which involved getting up at 3 a.m. and was not so different than previous temple excursions. But overall a wonderful adventure.

• The Egyptologists/archaeologists assigned to our tour, Mr. Ashraf and Mr. Abdul, were outstanding. Their knowledge, passion, and storytelling rekindled our love for Egypt and made the trip truly special.
• Hotels were very good, and breakfast at each location was consistently enjoyable.
• The Nile Cruise experience itself was great.
• Optional tours such as the hot air balloon ride, felucca/lunch rides, and the Nubian village were amazing.
• Iconic sites like the Pyramids and the Sphinx were unforgettable.
Areas for Improvement
• Nile Cruise room size: The triple-occupancy room was extremely tight with very little space to move. If we had known this in advance, we would have opted for a single supplement. Clear upfront guidance on room size and comfort would be helpful.
• Unexpected charges: Some charges were communicated only after arrival, particularly tips for crew and drivers. While tipping is understood, collecting it upfront without prior clarity was unexpected.
• Entrance fees: Although it was mentioned that entrance fees would be extra, there was no indication of approximate costs. The total amount came as a surprise.
• Optional tour sales experience: The person handling optional tours could be more customer-friendly. At times, the interactions felt abrupt and rude, which negatively affected the experience.
Specific Feedback on Abu Simbel
The Abu Simbel visit was not worth the long travel time. It involved several hours of travel, standing in line briefly, and then returning, which made the experience disappointing compared to other highlights of the trip.

Despite a few areas that need better communication and customer handling, this was a fantastic trip overall, largely thanks to the incredible guides and the richness of Egypt itself.

Seeing Abu Simbel was amazing and the Nubian village was fun. If I had it to do again. I would pass on the carriage ride in Luxor. The condition of the horses was alarming. I would also try to stay a full day or 2 in the Nubian village. I'd have.liked to swim.in the Nile and go on a camel trail ride and have had more time to shop in the market there as there were some unique and interesting items compared to the markets at every temple.
The people were all welcoming and kind. Most are multi-lingual. I didn't need to use Google translate.once. id say bring lots of small US bills. It is preferred to the Egyptian pound by many and often cards are not accepted.

The tour is a well-balanced collection of Egyptian history. The tour guides are highly educated people, all Egyptologists, with excellent knowledge and enthusiasm to show and explain about it.
We had a 5-day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan, where our tour guide was Ashraf, who is the most amazing guide. Besides his vast knowledge, he is the most caring person. He made sure that we were always OK and could enjoy our trip the best way.
For the organizers, I would like to add some comments that they could change. First, I would recommend placing flights inside Egypt, not at night. We arrived from Aswan back to Cairo at midnight on 1st Jan. The hotel was not very organized upon our arrival, (though we already stayed there at the beginning of the tour, they should have had our information) and took very long time to get the proper rooms.
The other thing should be changed - not to put the visit to Abu Simbel, that takes about 10h total and the visit to the Nubian village, also takes 3h on the same day. We were lucky, because our guide Ashraf was flexible and changed the day of the visit to the Nubian village, but otherwise it would not have been enjoyable.
Generally, we were happy with the organization, but there are still many small things that they can improve.

Our boat was the Blue Shadow 4 where the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was good if a bit predictable after several days. Domestic flights were quick and airport transit wasn't too difficult.
Our guide for the sites was Ashraf who was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about each of the sites as well as Egyptian history, culture, and anything else about Egypt that you could think to ask. He was also an experienced guide who knew the ins and outs of moving through each site to give the group the best experience.
Be aware that this tour keeps you very busy and some excursions, especially the add-ons have early starts and some late lunches (take snacks if traveling with teens). I don’t think it was too fast, but some of the drives are a bit long. Many locations have many steps and uneven ground which may be difficult for some travelers as you would expect at these ancient sites.
I would recommend this tour and all of the add-ons that we booked except Abu Simbel - just because the place was packed and very much lacked any crowd management making it unsafe for anyone who relies on a cane for stability. This really is an excellent way to pack a lot in to a short trip and come away feeling like you have seen the Egyptian highlights.

Be aware that when you are met by a representative you may get overwhelmed with the speed at which you are signed up. I literally no idea what what excursions I had signed up for except for a scribbled diagram. The tours I did go on though were very good.

What really makes the tour special, though were the guides. Ashraf Roma on the Nile leg was exceptional, as was Abdou at the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Ashraf combined his extensive knowledge and experience with caring and sensitivity to each of our needs and made all feel welcome and included. His delivery was excellent and amazingly I could hear him over the noisy crowds.
HOWEVER, as a 75 year old single female traveler of average fitness, I found the over scheduled, jam packed activities, extensive sleep deprivation due to 3-4 3:00 am risings, endless walking on uphill rocky terrain in the heat, steep uneven steps to be too strenuous ( even though I got through it without holding the other members up or burdening them).
I WOULD NOT recommend this tour for elderly persons unless they are above average fitness and have no joint issues, especially in the knees. I don't think it is fair to describe this tour as " medium intensity", even for younger people. It is very high intensity, in my opinion.
It gets four stars because there is need for improvement in communication about many things from the operator: among them the information about the tipping kitty is especially confusing and not very transparent.

Travel by air, cruise ship, tuktuk, horse and carriage, bus, van and my favourite - hot air balloon. It was amazing.

What made the tour truly outstanding were our 2 tour guides; Abdoul in Cairo and Ashfaf for the cruise. These 2 men were so knowledgeable in their field of Egyptology.
Abdoul is an active Archeological himself and one of the places he took us to, Saqqara, has been one of the digs he has worked on. He took us to many tombs and temples and explained the significance of each. The Museum of Civilization with all the mummys was especially good but the highlight was the GEM, newly opened, to see King Tut's treasures.
Our 2nd guide was Ashraf, who was totally amazing! He was so knowledgeable about the sites we went to. He always had a smile ans warm greetings for his 'habibi' group. He helped us navigate everyhing and we were sad to say goodbye to him.
If you take this tour, you could not ask for better guides than Ashraf and Abdoul; i know you'll love them as much as we did.

Ashref has all of these qualities and more. He made us feel welcomed from the first moment. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the history and culture of Egypt. Ashref's enthusiasm was infectious and he made every adventure fun and exciting.
Ashref took great care of us making sure every detail was taken care of. We always felt safe, informed and Ashraf communicated all the necessary information as we needed it.
Ashref also went the extra mile taking us to markets for special items and recommending places to eat or see when we had free time.
As well, Abdoul was such a knowledgeable guide. He made sure we saw the most important artifacts, gave excellent indepth explanations and made ancient Egypt come alive for us. His passion for his history and culture was evident.

There are other add ons we didn't do like the balloon ride which others said was fantastic( another extremely early start but always with ballooning) and the Nubian village which some said was good others said a bit touristy. The Nile river cruise was great with excellent food and service from staff.

Kudos to Mr. Ashraf Roma from Luxor to Aswan back to Cairo. For the whole five days , he guided and explained to us and very patient waiting for us specially when I need to take photos of every corner of the Beauty of temples sights of the city, people and the Nile River. Our Egyptologist Ashraf was very very knowledgeable about all these places. We were given a very wonderful 1st class stay the Cruise, wow!!! The atmosphere of the whole place was awesome, from the reception, the lounge, dinning, oh wow!!!!.
I am not disappointed at all. I am recommending anyone who is still not sure to just go ahead and book this tour and all will be looked after by this tour agency. They also have a team n Cairo, Ahmed and Ali who really looked after us so well. Very organized and pleasant people.

I have spent the last two weeks in Egypt and had a great time. The history from the Pharoes to the modern times is fascinating and the monuments they have built are amazing. The country is perfectly s…I have spent the last two weeks in Egypt and had a great time. The history from the Pharoes to the modern times is fascinating and the monuments they have built are amazing. The country is perfectly safe and tourists are very welcome because they bring money into the economy. All the tourist sites are well protected and the guides look after you very well, so you don't need to worry about anything. After visiting the Pyramids, The Sphinx and The Egyptian Museum, we cruised down the Nile from Luxor to Aswan. Our guide was Ashraf Roma. We were 12 people in the group and Ashraf looked after us all every day from start to finish. He previously worked on excavations and was very knowledgeable and guided us at all the sites including: Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Luxor city tour, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple, Edfu temple, Kom Ombo, Abu Simbel and Philae temple. He took us to the best viewing points, explaining everything we saw and the history behind it. I really enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the Pharoes and Egypt. We went inside many tombs and temples and saw the wall carvings and burial chambers. The highlight was Tutenkhamun's tomb and mummy as well as Abu Simbel. Some incredible places.
There were some negatives. The roads are not very good and you do get hassled by a lot of people that want to sell you things. The first price they give you is way over-inflated, so you have to haggle. But the guide told was what to expect to pay for souvenirs and helped us if we wanted to buy something. Egypt is struggling financially, so everything is quite cheap to someone from a Western country and these minor negatives are far outweighed by the amazing experience that is visiting Egypt. I would definitely recommend it and it is very safe for tourists. Everything was very well organised.

On arrival get an Egypt SIM card & some Egyptian Pounds.
Going to the toilet costs 20 Egyptian Pounds.
Only drink bottled water.

The top highlights for us were Karnak Temple, Abu Simbel and the Valley of the Kings. We also loved, loved the hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings- pure magic and worth all the money. Shared lots of information about the gods, goddesses, kings, queens, and other royals as well as the stories told in the hieroglyphics. Ash also gave a brief history of the major periods of Eygpt: Pharaonic, Hellenistic, Roman, Muslim, British, and Islamic Arab. We learned some about the present day culture as well. The climate was very hot (even in early October) yet Ash encouraged us to push through the heat, drink lots of water, wear hats, and stand in the shade where ever it was available. Please retain Ashraf Roma as one of your tour guides - he is a valuable asset to tourists and to Eygpt!

Special mention to our guide when we transferred to luxor for the cruise ASH (Ashraf). We were a very mixed group of all ages and mobilities he had a steady pace and a patience to keep the group together. He explained the sites with excellent knowledge and made the whole trip memorable. We are very grateful to have him guides us through egypt. The days are very long, lots early starts. I think probably necessary to see as much as we did and try and get some free time. Not much time cruising, but the tours are optional. I would like to mention on arrival you are met at tge airport and taken to the hotel, where the tour manager Mohammed meets you to take the money for tips for drivers and entrance fees. We were aware of this in advance as its in the exclusions. However we we rushed into paying for excursions optional as well. We arrived late and felt pressured as we were told of we didn't decide there and then we couldn't go. I dont think is actually true as we were offered to add excursions further along the trip. My advice would be to try and have a idea which excursions you would like to do before you meet him. Pricing should be given in advance with the confirmation email and let people know in advance they will be asked to do this. The tour was fabulous, the guides and all the staff on the cruise were fabulous and food, cabin were great.

Every morning we had to wake up at 4am and then spend the day, more than 9 hours with no food and one small bottle of water in the Egyptian heat. Communication about this ahead of time would have been good.
There is also not much time actually cruising the Nile so if you’re after a relaxing journey, this is not the cruise for you.

The guides were great. Usually tour guides just know a script and aren't that knowledgeable but the guides were clearly passionate about their egyptology. Ashfaf who was our tour for the cruise was particularly great, likely the best guide ive had on a tour. He was very knowledgeable but made his tours of sites really focused and punchy, so you didn't get bored but learned a lot. Egypt can be a tricky country as a tourist, but we felt he was very trustworthy and was looking out for our best interests.

Highlights were the hot air balloon ride and the Nubian Village. There are lots of early wake ups but they’re interspersed with later ones and once you get to the cruise you get plenty of down time most days to have a rest on the boat and enjoy the facilities.
I wouldn’t pay to add on the Abu Simbel temple again as it’s 7 hours driving, 3:30am wake up and $100usd per person just to see another temple, the exterior is impressive but for the lay person the temples themselves aren’t any more interesting than the others you’ve already seen. We definitely got temple fatigue and would’ve preferred to have a slow start to the day with a swim on board the boat, saving us $100 per person.

From Luxor to Aswan, we sailed on the Princess Sarah II cruise, which was absolutely perfect. The crew was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious with plenty of choices, and our cabin was spotless with stunning views of the Nile.

We toured many important sites including Karnak, Luxor, Abu Simbel, Philae and a Nubian village. We spent 5 days with him on our Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan city. In our leisure time, he shared his insights on current and past geopolitical experiences he has live through in Egypt. As well as sharing with us the future goals of the country, while showing us examples of desert reclamation.
We had so much fun with him as we learned Egyptian dances and Nubian chants. Overall I can highly recommend this tour.

Egypt is such a beautiful country and definitely worth a visit - felt safe the entire time thanks to Ashraf, and bought so many beautiful souvenirs. The history is so deep and the nile cruise is the perfect way to explore as you can check in for 5 days and really settle in, but still discover different parts of Egypt. Abu Simbel and the hot air balloon ride were definitely the highlights.

The guides were with us from beginning to end making sure we were safe and making the most of our vacation.
Special thanks to Ashraf who is one of the most incredible guides we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His expert knowledge of Egypt is obvious as he gives us the highlights of each place we visit. He clearly gauges the guests interests and crafts the tour accordingly as the tour progresses. In the hot Egyptian Summer, he prioritized our safety from the heat always looking for shade, and providing plenty of water throughout the trip. He also treated our entire group, which was made up of 11 travelers from many different age groups, all with respect. By the end we felt like a little family with Ashraf joining us together and providing fun experiences for all.
Also shout out to Sadek who drove us around Cairo and was also very knowledgeable about the sights we saw along the way.

I’ve always preferred the freedom of planning my own itinerary, moving at my own pace, and avoiding the structure that comes with group travel. So I approached this experience with a mix of curiosity and hesitation.
To my surprise, exploring Egypt’s iconic sights in a group turned out to be the best decision.
From the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx to the temples of Luxor, Karnak and Abu Simbel, navigating Egypt’s rich history and logistical challenges was made much smoother with a guide and a group. The sheer scale of what you see, and the deep layers of culture and mythology, truly benefit from knowledgeable context — something I might’ve missed or misunderstood going solo.
That said, traveling in a group wasn’t without its moments of compromise. I missed the flexibility I’m used to. But in a country like Egypt, where distances are long, crowds are big, and local know-how is essential, the efficiency, safety, and insight provided by the group experience outweighed the downsides.
For anyone hesitant about group travel — especially fellow solo travelers — Egypt might just be the exception that changes your mind.

Cruising down the Nile was a memorable experience, and it was a great way to travel as we could see many different sites without packing up our hotel room. Our guide was Ashraf, and our tour was made even better by his knowledge, playfulness, and skill as a guide, our group felt very lucky to have him. I spent 2 days in Cairo at the beginning of the trip, and would recommend doing the same, as the one thing I lacked in this trip was time to actually spend time in the city.

The itinerary is excellent, visiting every major historical & cultural site imaginable & providing an immense amount of information & insight. The tour guide Egyptologist, Ash, was extremely knowledgeable, patient & accommodating while imparting his vast wisdom & experience. He made sure we were not hassled by merchants & we felt safe the entire time.
The boat was lovely & the staff members we interacted with were terrific. I was ill one day & both our bartender & waiter came to check on me several times & brought me various remedies. The food was good, our only complaint would be a lack of variety from day to day & the breakfast boxes were not good mainly consisting of 4 bread rolls each with one slice of cheese or meat which we combined into one. And, we had them several times.
I would like to make anyone considering this tour aware that there are several very early morning departures with wake up calls around 3:30 -4:00 am. It’s totally worth it though. Oh, and everybody expects tips, so make sure you have a lot of small bills.
Our biggest disappointment stems from poor attitude & communication issues starting with messaging the tour company with questions and requests that weren’t addressed timely resulting in us not having all the information we wanted prior to arriving in Cairo. A room upgrade we paid for but didn’t get & when I complained & said I was disappointed, I was told nothing could be done & I’d just have to accept the room we got. That response was unnecessarily rude & unacceptable. I was also told they were planning a big celebration for our 25th Anniversary on the cruise but that didn’t happen on our anniversary and I found out that several people from our group complained to the ships staff & they celebrated the following evening. Those instances were disappointing but didn’t outweigh all the positive aspects of the tour.
Overall, we highly recommend this tour and wouldn’t hesitate to refer friends & family.

Accommodation is decent, but if your budget allows, upgrade the Nile cruise. Our cruise Radamis II is serviceable yet clearly dated, many things including the gym are out of action. Service on the cruise was very good however.

We have not felt unsafe in the slightest, everyone has been welcoming and kind. Tourism in egypt stimulates the economy so they are happy to see tourists. We got to see the pyramids, the sphinx, a plethora of beautiful temples, the Nubian village which has their own ancient language separate from Arabic. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to learn about new cultures, see ancient history, and make lifelong friends. Recommendation: bring lots of sunscreen and some allergy meds!
