He dealt with the celebratory times and even the more trying times with unwavering positivity and calmness. He really went out of his way to ensure we were organized and tracked down our missing belongings on several occasions. Highly recommend Lee as a guide for your trip. Wonderful person. The itinerary itself felt a bit rushed with a few too many hours spent on a bus, it would have been nice to fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap as not much would have been missed on the ground, and more time may have been spent exploring the major cities vs in a bus. Also, I felt we could have skipped the night stay in Kratie, Cambodia as there wasn’t much there - alternatively, I would have loved to spend more than one night in Vang Vieng, Laos. I really like the fact that G Adventures gives back to the local businesses and supports meaningful initiatives in the countries that it hosts groups in. All in all, we had a fabulous group and all really enjoyed our time together. Would definitely try another g adventure tour.

This was in no small part to the professionalism and attitude of our guide, Shaullee. He was knowledgeable, organised, dedicated and a pleasure to be around. He very much had a hand in ensuring everyone's trip went as smoothly and positively as possible. Lee is a credit to Gadventures. I was really impressed with the organisation and scheduling of the itinerary. The optional add-on activities were all worth doing too. We crammed a lot into the time we had. It would have been easy to spend more time in some of the places we visited, had the tour been longer. (for instance, I could have happily done an extra day in Siem Reap and one more in Luang Prabang). If I had one critique, it would be regarding some of the restaurants. I love finding amazing places to eat when travelling and some of the places we ate felt a little generic or underwhelming. I understand why this is though, especially in a large group of people who all have different needs. In summary, I really enjoyed my trip and have some made brilliant memories. I am not quite ready to give up travelling solo, but now I know there is a fantastic alternative option out there too.

He would even help the staff at the smaller eating establishments to take our orders and serve our food. While visiting Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm ("Tomb Raider" temple), S21, and the Killing Fields were excellent, I felt some of the other optional tours weren't that great. I also felt as though there wasn't enough optional activities especially compared to the other G Adventures tours I've been on. As is indicated in the itinerary, there is quite a bit of travel on this tour. We often spent the day travelling and would get to the next location late in the afternoon. Then we would either be able to shower and relax or opt for an optional excursion. For example, to go see the dolphins you need to get on the bus again for a 45 minute ride to and from the boats. This was enticing since we just spent 6 hours on a bus and were told that they barely breach the water and all you see is their back. The circus, Phare, was alright. There is no need to upgrade from the cheaper seats since it is a small theater. Maybe it's because I wasn't interested in activities such as the cooking class, bicycling in 90+ degree weather, or the dolphin excursion, but I felt as though I spent most of the time getting massages, viewing sunsets, and walking around night markets. As the Asians would say, "same same but different." The people on the tour were great. Most were Europeans with some from North America and New Zealand. They made the trip extremely enjoyable. The difficult thing about group tours is that you spend, in this case, two weeks with the same people and develop strong bonds with some people only to say goodbye to people who live thousands of miles away. This is obviously true for any group trip you take. The only thing that irritated me was the location of the last hotel in Vientiane. It was a great hotel but it was located 15-20 minutes from the city. We needed to be at the hotel by 3pm for our departure to the overnight train. The hotel had a shuttle bus but the hotel staff didn't speak good English. In order to go see the city we would have needed to take a 15 minute bus ride to the city, go see the optional sites, then wait for the shuttle, and finally take a 15 minute ride back. And since their English wasn't great communicating exactly where to get the shuttle back was challenging. In order to see the optional sites on day 14 you need to take all of this into consideration. In my opinion, a hotel that was in the city but not as nice would have been preferable. I believe this hotel was chosen because G Adventures has a contract with Treasure Hotels. All the hotels in Laos had the exact same label on their free water which indicated that they were owned by the group Treasure Hotels. While I've harped on some of the negative aspects of the tour, I would definitely recommend it especially if you like some activities, watching sunsets, shopping and getting cheap massages. One last thing is that the view of the sky at the home stay in Laos was spectacular. I don't believe I've ever seen so many stars at one time.

Lee our CEO was the reason why the trip was so great, he was on top of every detail and made sure that everyone was taken care of, if it was special needs, of everyone had food, everyone was having fun etc. He made sure that we were organized and assisted us with booking and getting us to our optional activities. His knowledge of the area was great, knowing what all the amenities were and for the most part there costs. Couldn’t recommend Lee any more, I wish I could have him for every trip!

The guide, Lee, is an incredible person, really passionate about his job and always available to answer to our multiple curious questions. He knows everything!!! It is not always easy to travel with groups but Lee made everything seem so simple and fun. I really enjoyed the contact with locals: interacting with the kids in the floating village or in the home stay, try to make noodles in a local farm, bike through the villages to absorb the atmosphere, have dinner in NGOs to support their local young generation training, see the multiple sunrise and sunset over the mountains and riverside… such a great memories!! I really recommend this tour with awesome Lee!
