Reviews of Small Group tours to Morocco
- Best Morocco Family Tour - 5 days
Our 5 day trip experience with my 8 year old son and myself was beyond what we expected and memorable. Our driver and guide Mouhssine was very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about Moroccan/Berber culture. It was very enriching culturally wise. Touareg trails arranged everything carefully, from the breathtaking riads/hotels to the activities: camel rides in the desert of Merzouga, cultural visits to Moroccan landmarks (Kasbah), berber villages. We also got to see the Atlas mountains while driving and the beautiful valleys. The food was amazing. We also did a lot of activities like quad biking, mountain climbing etc. In all, this was the most memorable and best holidays we ever had my son and myself. Thank you Touareg trails and Mouhssine
- 9 Days Private Morocco Tour – Small Group
We had a fabulous time on this tour for a number of reasons, the scenery was spectacular , the people were very friendly towards tourists and our driver Uthman (please excuse me if I have spelt his name incorrectly) was an exceptional driver. We covered many miles as expected during the 9 days and he kept us safe and comfortable. Our tour guide Ismail always ensured that we were happy with our accommodation and if we had any issues he would take care of them. The local tour guide in Fez , Mohammed was wonderful, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. We spent 5 hours in his company and learnt so much. Our other local tour guides were also great and informative. Accommodation was absolutely fine, stand outs were our night in the Sahara Desert at "Arabian nights desert camp" what an impressive young man Ayoub is who was managing the camp, he was so pleasant and accommodating he could not do enough for us.The Riad Jeanne in Fez managed by Ish was lovely and again a very pleasant man and we were grateful to have 2 nights there. There were 4 of us on this tour and we are all in our 70's, be prepared for some long days on the road driving, we were aware of this prior to the tour because of the itinerary and mileage provided in the details of the tour, the scenery is spectacular so sit back and enjoy it. The temperature was averaging 40 degrees every day , some days higher so pick a time of year that's cooler if you don't like the heat. Unlike other tours we have been on in other countries don't expect your tour guide to be with you all the time when you arrive in the various cities you will have a local tour guide for this, or expect him to provide a huge amount of information whilst you are travelling. He will ensure that each stop whilst travelling is somewhere where there are clean restrooms and a safe place to eat or drink and as I mentioned before, he will deal with any issues you may have. It's just different from what you would expect other tour guides to provide. All in all we had an exceptional tour and very grateful we had such wonderful time and went with this company.
- Best of Morocco: 7 Days from Casablanca – Small Group

What our customers ask about Morocco Small Group Tours
What is the ideal group size for exploring Morocco's cultural sites and desert locations?
Groups of 6-8 travelers tend to work best for exploring Morocco's diverse destinations. These smaller numbers make it easier to move through busy markets recent TourRadar traveler shared "The small group allowed us to be more flexible and have a more intimate experience especially at places like the Riad Dar Soukaina in Marrakech." The compact size lets visitors easily explore medina streets connect with local communities and get personalized attention at historical sites.
How does accommodation differ between small group tours versus larger tours in Morocco?
Small group tours often stay in traditional guesthouses and boutique properties such as the Riad El Palacio in Chefchaouen or the Merzouga Luxury Desert Camp rather than large hotels. These smaller properties are often located in historic medinas giving travelers direct access to local life. As noted by a TourRadar traveler "Our small group could stay in traditional riads within the medinas offering a more authentic experience than the large hotels used by bigger tours."
What is the transportation experience like with small group tours in Morocco?
Transportation typically involves modern minivans or 4x4 vehicles that accommodate 8-12 people. These smaller vehicles can access places larger tour buses cannot reach including remote Sahara Desert camps and villages in the High Atlas Mountains. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Our small group size meant we could use a nimble 4x4 vehicle to reach authentic Berber villages off the main tourist track."
What unique benefits do small group tours offer in Morocco's medinas and souks?
Smaller groups move easily through the winding streets of Morocco's ancient marketplaces particularly in Fes and Marrakech. Groups of 8-10 people can stop at craft workshops visit with artisans and learn about local traditions without disrupting daily life. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our small group size allowed us to visit local families in the medina of Fes and enjoy authentic experiences that wouldn't be possible with larger groups."
How does the desert camping experience differ with small groups?
Desert camps in locations like Merzouga set up for small groups feature 4-8 luxury tents creating a more private atmosphere compared to large commercial sites. Guests often get to know their Berber hosts and learn about desert culture in a natural setting. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our small group had an exclusive desert camp experience with personal attention from our Berber hosts making it feel like a private adventure."
