Can not praise or recommend the trip enough! I was blown away by the quality of accommodation, food, and service. All the staff were friendly and willing to help with whatever they could; a special mention must be made to the catering/bar staff - the best service I've ever received. The excursions were interesting and well thought out, and were as inclusive to every energy/mobility-level as possible. All the instructions in briefings and recaps were presented clearly and were in great humour. The atmosphere on board was fantastically friendly and warm, and everyone (both staff and passengers) were very happy to share any facts or information they could. The range of knowledge and specialties of the staff was exceptional. Cat was a fantastic CEO bringing energy and enthusiasm in every interaction, especially motivating the ship when spirits were low/failing. The Captain (Juraj Zekan) was so lovely and happy to chat with or help any of the passengers; he was very approachable and often seen in the bar on an evening with other staff members. It was lovely to feel so integrated with the crew. All in all, I can't wait to be back in the Arctic and on board the Expedition. This is a trip I will never forget.

Wow! What a trip! Let me firstly say I believe we were exceptionally lucky with our wildlife viewing. We saw 10 polar bears, some close and some far, Walrus, Seals, Dolphins, five types of whales (Blue, Minke, Fin, Humpback and Sperm) with a distant sighting of Beluga whales in Longyearbyen harbour on the last day. We also saw Arctic foxes several times, lots of birdlife and even some man made locations such as Pyramiden (an abandoned Russian mining town) The Ship itself was fantastic. She's not the largest vessel I've been on but I think that's an advantage as you felt like you could talk and get to know most people and staff on board. Lots of little things impressed me, the staff, in particular the Bar Staff remembered my name and my drink order, there may have only been 120 people or so but I still thought that was really great service. Also the cleaning staff would clean your room after breakfast and lunch when we were off the ship on excusions, I never expected that level of service. The highlight was certainly visiting the pack ice North of Spitzbergen, it was here that we had our closest Bear encounter (see picture attached) - The bear was very curious and visited the ship for around 45 mins, even approaching within 12 feet of the ship..amazing. The Zodiac excursions were really well executed and the expedition staff were an unexpected highlight, they were really knowledgeable and would explain each animal or plant we came across, there was lectures and briefings daily to provide further insight into the animals and landscapes we could attend if we wished. Hard to fault the trip, I would caution anyone who is keen on the trip that I think we were exceptionally lucky to see so much.. but then perhaps luck will be on your side and you'll see lots also.

Best time to visit Svalbard
- Summer 2026
Summer brings non-stop daylight and peak wildlife activity. Our ships use all 24 hours of sunlight to maximize wildlife viewing - you might find polar bears near the pack ice or watch thousands of guillemots clustered on cliffs. Some voyages head east to Greenland and Iceland, while others dig deep into Svalbard's fjords and islands. Summer routes often stop at Ny Ålesund's abandoned mines and the old Dutch whaling station at Smeerenburg. You'll see hardy Arctic flowers dotting the tundra, and Zodiac trips regularly come across bearded seals and beluga whales in the icy waters.
