What people love about touring Bolivia solo
- Bolivia - Villazón, Uyuni, Potosí, Sucre, La Paz & Copacabana- 8 days
We had an absolute blast on this tour. We got to see so many incredible places in Bolivia! From the stunning salt flats of Uyuni, to the Spanish colonialism of Sucre, to the breathtaking expanse of Titicaca. Highly recommend! At every stop the guides were local, passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure it was a positive experience. Each of them went out of their way to make it special for us. Furthermore, the coordination (which is crucial for a trip of this many stops) was excellent. All transfers arrived on time, all vehicles were comfortable and modern, and even when we requested changes, the company was flexible and adapted the itinerary accordingly. We’re leaving with incredibly fond memories - thanks guys!
- 10 Days Bolivian Multicultural Highlights
This is my second tour with this company, both have been positive and unique experiences that will remain with me for a very long time. Bolivia is an amazing country, but also complex, and I was pleased that I was able to accomplish as much in seeing the vast countryside of Bolivia. I appreciated that the company was sensitive to my desire to engage as much as possible with indigenous groups and could custom the tour to meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I could not complete the entire trip because I got quite sick from the altitude and made the decison to settle for four of the six days, which fully met my expectations. I also appreciate the sensitivity by the Tour company to accommodate me in addressing my health concerns.. My tour guide was also well-versed on a wide range of topics from anthropology to history and archaeology, making the trip so much more interesting. This tour is perfect for anyone who really wants to be fully engaged in learning about indigenous communities, their customs and living conditions in the wilderness along with capturing the beauty of Bolivia terrain, especially the spectacular views at the Isla del Sol and the Tikicaca Lake.

What our customers ask about Bolivia Tours for Solo Travelers
What's the typical group size for Bolivia tours as a solo traveler?
Bolivia guided tours keep groups small ranging from 8 to 12 travelers which creates natural connections among participants. The National Geographic Journeys maintains these intimate numbers when visiting key sites like the Uyuni Salt Flats and Tiwanaku ruins. A TourRadar review confirms: "We had a fun group size that was perfect for getting to know everyone while exploring incredible places like Laguna Colorada and the salt flats."
What's the best time of year to visit Bolivia as a solo traveler?
The dry season from May to October draws the most visitors with 65% of tours running at capacity. This period offers reliable weather for exploring major attractions like Salar de Uyuni and Lake Titicaca. The Hotel Rosario La Paz sees its highest number of solo guests during July and August. A TourRadar review notes: "Traveling in July meant perfect weather for photos at the salt flats and lots of other travelers to meet."
What accommodation types can I expect as a solo traveler in Bolivia?
Your stays will vary from standard 3-star hotels to distinctive properties like salt-block hotels. La Paz offers the colonial-style Hotel Rosario with single rooms while Uyuni features the unique Hotel de Sal built entirely of salt. A TourRadar traveler describes the mix: "Loved the variety from the nice Hotel Parador Santa María Real in Sucre to the cozy salt hotel experience in Uyuni."
