Reviews of 10 day Hiking & Trekking Tours
- Pu Luong Nature Reserve Discovery In 8 Days - Luxury Private Tour
If you want to experience the culture of Vietnam, this tour is the perfect combination of city and rural landscapes, remote villages and tourist hotspots. I brought my 12-year old daughter with me and we had an unforgettable experience. The hike in Pu Luong is quite taxing in the heat and humidity, so be prepared for that by wearing good shoes and breathable clothes. The scenery is definitely worth it! Hotels and included meals are great quality and the guide and driver was very helpful and polite. Customer support from the Realistic Asia team leading up to the trip was also great. I would definitely recommend this trip for people who love the outdoors.
- Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Nepal
I joined the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with my friends from India, and Peregrine Treks and Tours made it an incredible experience. The sacred journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar felt deeply spiritual, with stunning Himalayan views at every turn. Pradip’s communication was top-notch—prompt, clear, and always helpful, ensuring we knew every detail before and during the trip. The guides were knowledgeable, sharing insights about the region’s cultural and religious significance. Our accommodations, though simple due to the remote locations, were comfortable and well-organized. The trek was challenging but rewarding, and Peregrine’s team kept us safe and supported throughout. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking a meaningful adventure!
- Self-guided: Peaks of the Balkans tour in 8 days
We were super delighted with our tour. We were blown away by the breath taking landscape and overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to us even with the language barrier. Our guide Engkel was every kind of wonderful. He ensured we had everything that we needed at all times. He even helped to carry an injured lady down one of the mountains! A true hero. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the local stories and appreciated the extra effort he went to regarding our specific needs along the way. He was exceptional. We will definitely be recommending this to our friends
What our customers ask about 10 Day Hiking & Trekking Tours & Trips
What's the ideal time for a 10-day hiking tour?
The best hiking season really depends on where you're going. In Nepal, plan your trek during March-May or October-November when the weather is stable and you'll get clear views of the mountains, with temperatures around 59-77°F (15-25°C). If you're heading to Europe, the sweet spot is June through September when it's about 50-68°F (10-20°C). One of our TourRadar travelers put it well: "The spring wildflowers and clear skies in May made the Crete walking tour absolutely spectacular."
How much distance do you walk each day on a 10-day trek?
You'll typically walk between 6 and 11 miles (10-18 kilometers) per day, taking about 5-7 hours depending on the terrain. On Nepal's Pikey Peak Trek, most days cover about 7.5 miles (12km), while Turkey's Lycian Way includes some longer days up to 11 miles (18km). Don't worry - the pace is comfortable with plenty of stops to rest and take photos of the views.
Which places are most popular for 10-day hiking tours?
Three routes stand out as traveler favorites. There's the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Italy and Switzerland, the beautiful Langtang Valley trails in Nepal, and the climb up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Our TourRadar travelers especially love the Tour du Mont Blanc because you get to experience three different cultures and amazing food while hiking through alpine meadows and ancient forests.
How high do these treks go?
The heights vary quite a bit. In Nepal, treks like Gosainkunda take you up to 14,173 feet (4,320m), and you'll need time to adjust to the altitude. European trails like Mont Blanc reach about 7,717 feet (2,352m) at Lac Blanc. The highest point you might encounter is Lauribinayak Pass in Nepal at 15,123 feet (4,610m). Our TourRadar travelers always remind others to drink plenty of water and take it slow at these heights.
What guides and staff come along on a 10-day trek?
You'll always have an experienced guide leading the way. In Nepal, for example, you get an English-speaking guide who's certified by the Tourism Ministry, plus porters who carry the heavy gear (one porter for every two hikers, carrying up to 20kg). Here's what one TourRadar traveler said: "Our guide Kamal was brilliant, wanting to help wherever possible and very knowledgeable about local culture and terrain."
Where do you sleep during a 10-day hiking tour?
You'll experience different types of places to stay. Before climbing Kilimanjaro, you might stay at a nice hotel like Springlands in Moshi, then switch to good quality two-person tents at campsites on the mountain. Some treks, like the Salkantay, mix it up with simple mountain lodges and teahouses. These places are picked to give you a good rest while keeping you close to the trail.
