Exceeded all expectations!!! My friend and I booked without much prior research into the different routes of Kilimanjaro or what it entailed. We landed on our feet with World Adventure Tours (associated with Zara tours, both female owned companies). We did the 6-day Machame route, which was beautiful, and each day was a new captivating landscape. Our guides Living and TomTom were professional, inspiring, great company and FUN!! We grooved our way up that mountain (Living's afro-piano playlist is off the charts good!). It was clear they were well-respected with other guides/teams on the mountain and in Moshi. Our entire team of guides, porters, chef and waiter were OUTSTANDING (shout out to Joseph, who was a delight to see at the beginning and end of every hike) and we couldn't have asked for better company. Meeting other hikers along the route and hearing their experiences, we realised just how lucky we had been even from initially booking through to the end of the tour. Our tour contact Joyce was exceptionally clear and kept us well-informed throughout, making sure we were always on the same page about the plans. The hotel Springlands at the beginning and end of the tour blew us away, all the staff (shout out to Nur) and even the transfers in between all were well beyond what we had anticipated. Springlands celebrated my birthday with a delicious cake and all the staff came and sang which was a special gesture I will always remember ❤️ By pure chance, we ended up booking this tour and it feels like we were blessed 🙏 Don’t pass up this chance—you won’t regret it! What's the ideal time for a 10-day hiking tour?
The best hiking season really depends on where you're going. In Nepal, plan your trek during March-May or October-November when the weather is stable and you'll get clear views of the mountains, with temperatures around 59-77°F (15-25°C). If you're heading to Europe, the sweet spot is June through September when it's about 50-68°F (10-20°C). How much distance do you walk each day on a 10-day trek?
You'll typically walk between 6 and 11 miles (10-18 kilometers) per day, taking about 5-7 hours depending on the terrain. On Nepal's Pikey Peak Trek, most days cover about 7.5 miles (12km), while Turkey's Lycian Way includes some longer days up to 11 miles (18km). Don't worry - the pace is comfortable with plenty of stops to rest and take photos of the views.
Which places are most popular for 10-day hiking tours?

There's the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Italy and Switzerland, the beautiful Langtang Valley trails in Nepal, and the climb up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. How high do these treks go?
The heights vary quite a bit. In Nepal, treks like Gosainkunda take you up to 14,173 feet (4,320m), and you'll need time to adjust to the altitude. European trails like Mont Blanc reach about 7,717 feet (2,352m) at Lac Blanc. The highest point you might encounter is Lauribinayak Pass in Nepal at 15,123 feet (4,610m). What guides and staff come along on a 10-day trek?
You'll always have an experienced guide leading the way. In Nepal, for example, you get an English-speaking guide who's certified by the Tourism Ministry, plus porters who carry the heavy gear (one porter for every two hikers, carrying up to 20kg). Where do you sleep during a 10-day hiking tour?
You'll experience different types of places to stay.
