You'll take a hands-on pesto-cooking class in Genoa's frescoed Palazzi dei Rolli, where Renaissance architecture creates beautiful backdrops for photos. The UNESCO-protected island of Palmaria offers military ruins and coastline views perfect for photography, and it's car-free so you can wander freely. Later, document traditional pasta-making with ancient wooden moulds at La Sciamadda dei Vinaccieri Ballerini, then frame the marble arcades and pastel facades of Chiavari's historic centre on an evening orientation tour.
