Trek to the top of Mt. Eldfell Volcano in Vestmannaeyjar and see the 1973 eruption site at Eldheimar Museum, then hike through Fjaðrárgjúfur Canyon before heading up Laki Volcano in Vatnajökull National Park, where the 1783-1784 Laki eruption changed European history.

Head to the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord and watch icebergs calving from Sermeq Kujalleq glacier, one of the northern hemisphere's most productive ice flows. Hike through Torngat Mountains National Park's boreal woodlands where woodland caribou and Arctic foxes roam, then walk Cape Mercy's shores.
