We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day hiking tour! Spectacular views, great hospitality, interesting people, intense but doable hiking and such an enjoyable experience. Best of all was our wonderful guide Allbi. His knowledge of the area, the history of Albania, the current Albania, his connections with the people and his expertise hiking skills, made our trip the best part of our time in Albania. We would definitely recommend this company and trip!
Semi - Private Tour; Peaks of the Balkans - Theth, Valbona & Koman LakeWe had a great experience on our tour with our guide Elvin. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the Landscape and history of Albania. He took us on a nice hike to a cave, then down to the river for a swim! Would definitely recommend and do it again
Tirana: Semi - Private Hiking Tour of Pellumbas Cave & Erzeni CanyonThe tour was great. It is great lesson in ancient and medieval history. Gorgeous scenery driving on the mountain roads. We were led by our tour guide Arthur and driver Deo, both professional and very accommodating. Hotels were all different having a local color. The hotel in Berat Castle was particularly memorable. I would recommend this tour. Everything was on schedule as arranged. Be prepared for a lot inclined walking on cobblestones.

One TourRadar traveler noted "We had wonderful hot sunny weather on most days which meant no crowds at major attractions and perfect conditions for exploring." For coastal areas like Saranda and Ksamil July and August provide excellent conditions for combining adventure with beach activities. Those interested in historical sites like Butrint National Park and Gjirokaster will find April and May offer comfortable temperatures for exploration.
What type of accommodation can I expect on an Albanian Adventure tour?
Adventure tours blend comfortable hotels with local guesthouses across Albania. Visitors stay in modern properties like Hotel Freddy's 3* in Tirana while experiencing family-run guesthouses in mountain villages like Theth. The Tradita G & Tosk Hotel 4* in Shkoder showcases traditional Albanian architecture alongside modern comforts. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The hotels exceeded expectations and ranged from good to excellent particularly in locations like Saranda where we stayed at the Havana Hotel 4* with beautiful sea views."
What are the must-see highlights of an Adventure tour in Albania?
Albania offers diverse landscapes from mountain ranges to ancient sites and coastal views. The Theth National Park features hiking trails leading to the Blue Eye Spring and Grunas Waterfall. Butrint a UNESCO World Heritage site presents well-preserved archaeological ruins. Near Shkoder the Rozafa Castle stands high offering views across the Albanian Alps. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Breathtaking mountains beautiful beaches amazing historical sites - it has a bit of everything. Our guide made it a memorable holiday with access to hidden gems." The coastline features the clear waters of Ksamil Beach and the historic Ali Pasha Castle overlooking the Ionian Sea.
How much time should I allocate for an Adventure tour in Albania?
An 8-10 day trip provides enough time to experience Albania's diverse regions from the northern Alps to the coast and cultural sites. Most tours spend 3 days in Theth Valley with accommodation at Shpella Guesthouse 2-3 days in Valbona and time exploring coastal areas. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The first two days are the walking then the trip is mainly sightseeing. There are some longish drives that are necessary to see so much."
What's the transportation like on Albanian Adventure tours?
Tours use air-conditioned minibuses or vans for main routes between destinations such as Tirana to Theth or Saranda to Gjirokaster. Mountain areas like Theth National Park require specialized local transport. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The coach was comfortable with plenty of space and our driver was really excellent especially on the mountain roads to remote locations." Companies prioritize vehicle quality and safety particularly for longer coastal routes.
Are meals included in Albanian Adventure tours?
Most tours cover daily breakfasts and select other meals. Properties like Hotel Republika in Berat and Havana Hotel in Saranda provide breakfast as standard.
