She was always contactable for any questions or problems even before our tour started. We then met Ming and Oat the following day on the first night of the tour who were so friendly and took the time to get to know us and spend the time with us. We also met our tour guide Gun who is so friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable. Grace, Ming, Oat and Gun have made this whole experience amazing with their support, fun and knowledge of the places. They were all constantly taking pictures of the whole group having fun making memories that will last a lifetime. The first 8 days with Ming, Grace and Oat was so lovely as they are doing such a great job, they are all going to be such great tour leaders! Nothing was ever too much to ask any of them and they always checked to make sure you are okay! Thank you to all of them for making the experience amazing!

The trip was full of well planned activities. We were really lucky to have a tour guide, Gun, plus 3 interns, Ming, Ote and Grace and they kept us fully informed with what the daily itinerary was. Gun took lots of really nice group photos of us all in some beautiful places and was really knowledgable about some of the places we were visiting. All the accommodations were lovely and clean. The over night ferry and over night train were experiences within their selves which you need a strong stomach for! My favourite location was kho Tao, it was a beautiful island with lots to do and I could have easily stayed there for another week! personally I would have missed out kho Phangan, although the mad monkey hostel was lovely, the vibe was very loud and full of young party goers, their reps on occasion would make you feel uncomfortable if you said you didn’t want to join in, but Gun always made sure we were ok. The tour has been jam packed with stuff to do but we have had full flexibility so if there’s something we were not too fussed about we were under no pressure to not take part. I recommend tru travels and the island hopper tour but be mindful it is very full on, but worth it with the sites and experiences you see

The 14 day Thailand Island Hopper was fantastic, I loved every minute. I went as a solo traveller and found the tour to be perfect for me and it was very easy to meet other people. Gun was a great group leader, he made sure everyone was having fun and organised loads of really good activities. Oat, Ming and Grace were so kind and helpful, they did a brilliant job as the interns. Oat’s song was one of the funniest moments of the trip and I’m sure he has a great career as a singer ahead of him but he would also make a fantastic tour guide. Ming and Grace were also always so happy and smiley and I was so glad the interns were on the tour. My favourite place we stayed on the tour was Koh Phi Phi and the Monkey Beach was amazing. I’m really looking forward to my next Tru Travels tour!

Unser Guide Gun war super, er hat uns bei allem geholfen und es immer versucht jedem Recht zu machen. Er versucht immer die perfekten Fotos von jedem zu machen und ist für jeden Spaß zu haben. Er hat einen super Job gemacht.
Dabei hatte er seine drei interns oat, Ming und grace dabei. Auch die drei waren sehr bemüht und haben alles mit gemacht. Sie haben viel von gun gelernt auf der Tour und haben uns viel gezeigt. Die drei haben sich sofort um etwas gekümmert wenn wir etwas brauchten, sie waren sehr hilfsbereit.
Auch wenn wir als Deutsche nicht so perfekt englisch sprechen waren alle immer sehr Bemühung es uns so ein ach wie möglich zu machen.
Diese Tour war super, wir hatten viel Spaß bei schwimmen schnorcheln und insgesamt bei allen Boot Fahrten. Auch die nächtlichen Ausflüge waren toll, wir waren immer in den besten bars und an den schönsten Orten. Gun hat uns viel über Thailand und seine Kultur beigebracht.
Ein Highlight war für mich das tauchen auf Koh Phi Phi. Auch hier war unser Guide Gun dabei und immer bemüht die besten Fotos unter Wasser von uns zu machen.
Die Hotels waren immer gut und sauber und die Transporte von Ort zu Ort waren gut durchgeplant und organisiert.
Ich denke diese Tour zeigt einem die besten Seiten von Thailand und trotzdem nicht nur die tourispots. Man bekommt einen Einblick in das echt Thailand.
Alles in allem war es ein super toller Trip den ich jedem empfehlen und auf jeden Fall nochmal machen würde.

Boom was also very good, especially with his knowledge about the temples on the 1st day and always helped out when we needed a hand knowing what everything was.
I had a brilliant time with both of them and couldn’t imagine doing it without them as they made it feel so easy and fun!

Not only were they both very helpful and friendly but both Gun and Boom were great company to have with us on the trip, making sure we had a lot of fun and were well looked after.
Loved that Gun and Boom were always ready to take pictures and capture the memories so that we didnt need to worry about it.
I'm regretting not booking a longer trip!! Cos I would have liked to stay in some places for longer.. like koh toa, phi phi and the floating bungalows.

This was my first time travelling and it was the best decision I made to go with tru travels rather than on my own. From the word go I’ve enjoyed every day and met some really amazing people. He is very good at keeping us all informed about when and where we need to be and has vast knowledge about the sites we visited on our excursions. I’ve enjoyed the trip that much I am contemplating becoming part of the tru travel family and applying for the position of a tour guide in the very near future. Honestly cannot find fault with anything and would recommend the company and especially gun as a guide to anyone I speak to this is thinking of visiting Thailand!!!

I was really nervous coming to Thailand as a solo traveller but Gun and the group made me feel so welcomed and included. The activities provided were more than expected and really made the trip being taken different parts of the country which you wouldn’t think to go to. Gun has been a massive part of this trip for me. He’s non stopped made us laugh and takes the most amazing photographs. He is a total credit to the team.
I will definitely be recommending TruTravels to my customers/family/friends and hopefully sep more holidays through yourselves to the customers.

The first day , the airport pick up was swift and quick! The temple tour was incredible and so detailed! The Thai massage was refreshing ! The overnight train was a new experience that I didn’t expect! Bottle beach was such beautiful scenery and would definitely recommend ! Muay Thai boxing was fantastic and would love to try again! Can’t wait for the full moon party !

My tour began with Steve and Scotty in north Thailand... what an incredible, jam-packed two weeks we had!

We did so much in our two weeks but for me the highlights were visiting many temples and learning about the culture and history of the places that we visited. Our cooking class was really informative and a good laugh. The jungle trek was hard work but when we arrived at the hill tribe village it was so rewarding, we had a perfect night, all sat around a campfire laughing and singing. Chang Mai Grand Canyon was a really fun day, I felt like a kid jumping and sliding around at the waterpark! And the elephant sanctuary was something all of our group were looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint.
Steve is a fantastic tour guide, he cannot be faulted! He kept the group informed of all timings, activities, what to pack etc. throughout the whole tour. Not only that but he kept the whole group entertained with his fun and chilled out personality. He felt more like a friend than a tour guide which was really great as we all felt so comfortable being together.
And Scotty... he has such a loving, happy personality. Again, we instantly felt like friends and he made sure everyone felt involved all the time, even with the harder parts of the tour, such as the jungle trek he looked after and encouraged everyone who was a bit slower (like me!)
It was so sad to have say goodbye to both of them after an unforgettable journey but we were passed over to our new tour guide for the South... Gun.
The south part of the tour was a lot more chilled out than the north... full of boat trips, snorkelling, beaches and breathtaking scenery. Monkey beach, the floating bungalows and the pub crawl in Koh Tao were my favourite activities. The tour had a much more chilled out vibe than the north (which us total Thailanders appreciated), time to relax!
Gun has such a lively, bubbly personality. He’s always full of energy and there was never a dull moment. He was always full of facts, history and stories to keep our group informed and entertained. He looked after our group extremely well and made sure that our tour was full of laughter and making memories. He really is fantastic at his job and I’m so glad to have had him as a guide!
It has been an absolute pleasure to have met Steve, Scotty and Gun. I am so pleased that I experienced Thailand with Tru Travels, I will never forget the amazing people I have met and the incredible experiences that we have all shared together!

I've just finished the 27 day Total Thailand tour and it has been an amazing time! For the Northern part of the tour, Steve and Scotty instantly brought the Tru Family vibe. I arrived a couple of days…I've just finished the 27 day Total Thailand tour and it has been an amazing time! For the Northern part of the tour, Steve and Scotty instantly brought the Tru Family vibe. I arrived a couple of days early, and was already hanging out and having a laugh with Scotty, Steve and a couple of other guides days before the tour even started. I already felt like family! The tour was a perfect balance of party, culture and history. Steve and Scotty made it their mission to ensure it was the trip of a lifetime for everyone.
Similarly, the Southern half of the tour run by Gun was brilliant. Sun's out, Gun's out!Sun, beach and beer - what more could anyone ask for?! Beautiful locations and some great snorkelling spots. Fun bars and parties after some amazing food and a day on the beach and in the Ocean is a dream. Gun brought the fun, and even when he was feeling unwell he managed to keep everyone laughing and having a great time. From blasting the song "My heart will go on" from Titanic at the start of our boat trip, to making jokes in between mouthfuls of crunching ice cubes, Gun was a classic character, fantastic guide and ultimate brand ambassador for Tru Travels.
I've been to Thailand several times before, but the Tru Family lead by Steve, Scotty and Gun made it something brand new and really special. I really feel like part of the Tru Family now!

They made life so easy from start to finish! We met out tour guides Steve and Scotty in bangkok for the first part of the tour which was 14 days Thailand north, and they were amazing! Settling any nerves that we may have had being on a solo tour! They really got the group to bond and we got on so well!
Steve and Scotty were always super informative about all the culture and rich history of Thailand and alway on hand to take care of us, whether that was on the activities or if we wanted to do something not on the itinerary on an evening. They were so much fun on an evening always suggesting the best bars and restaurants.
On the 14 day island hopper tour. We met our tour guide ‘Gun’ in Bangkok and straight away the vibe he gave the group was awesome! He was so informative and knew everything about everything! He was always on hand to be there for us and he was so fun in his own unique way!
This part of the tour was more chill and less activities but that’s what you want when your in such beautiful locations in the south of Thailand!
Overall the thing that made Trutravels different for me was the tour guides. You don’t see them as tour guides! just really good friends who want to do the same things as you and have a good time! And it’s not a 9-5 for them it’s a lifestyle, they’re so enthusiastic and full of life all the time! So to Steve, Scotty and Gun thankyou for making it a trip of a lifetime!
Would 100% recommend TruTravels to a friend!!!

Any questions I had were answered straight away, and kept everything to plan. The places we visited were amazing and much more than I expected. Gun is a valued member of trutravels team and you are very lucky to have a tour guide like him. I will remember this tour for the rest of my life, and hopefully I will be back on another one very soon and will have just as much fun.

The tour was more than expected, there were so many activities involved that made the difference and that could only be done with TruTravels. Steve and Scotty managed to create a unique experience for us, they teached us the culture, language, and gave us tips for having extra fun. They have so many experience handling the group and adapting to each personality.
This part of the tour was my favorite, you get to know exactly the Thai culture and hidden gems of the north. The itinerary was perfect!!
Beaches:
Gun was an amazing guide, I love that he always showed up with the logo on his shirts! He made an extra effort always to communicate correctly with each one of us and he is always working extra on improving himself. This part of the tour was more chilled but he managed to adapt the tour to the weather perfectly. I am so happy to be part of the TRUFAMILY!!! I can't wait to travel the world with you guys again!!!

I did the "Thailand Experience" tour and loved every minute. Our tour guide, Gun, was amazing - so helpful and insightful. I think the people you travel with make your experience; luckily our group was full of amazing people. It wasnt too large that you got lost. Although everyone was from different backgrounds we all meshed very well.
I also got to meet other trutravels guides/employees. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, just a pleasure to be around. Steve, Ryan, and everyone else we met were amazing. Ryan even got us a spontaneous trip to an animal shelter, something we had asked for (he made it happen the next day); thank you all. Gun even helped me plan my travels after the trip.
It was a great experience, I am already planning another trip with trutravels.

Both are very fun and upbeat, including Gun playing music and singing at any opportunity. The acivities we did were fun and the views everywhere absolutely stunning. We were also recommended great places to eat and bars to go to. Gun even set me up with a tattoist friend of his so i could get a bamboo tattoo. Due to the weather, one of the bat trips planned had to be cancelled but Gun was able to sort out an amazing car journey around the island for us instead. I'd Recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go south of thailand or Total thailand for anyone who wants to see both north ad south. Overall 10/10

The 14 day island hopper has been amazing! Both gun and Scotty have been fantasitc all the way thought the tour and i would recommend them and the tour to anyone. They have been really helpful and informative whilst keeping everything fun.

Trutravels as a whole ( total thailand ) has been incredible and i am so glad that i decided to travel with them. Gun had made our transition from the north really easy as he was so welcoming. Scotty has also been on hand as well, so easy to get along with.
This is an experience i will never forget!

Northern Thailand
The northern part of the trip was AMAZING! The itinerary was packed, meaning I got to do so many of the things I wanted to do whilst visiting Thailand in just a short space of time…Northern Thailand

Minnie was an incredible group leader! She made me laugh every single day, was so much fun to be around and also taught us so much about the culture and places that we visited. I became very unwell at the end of the trip and she looked after me, checking on me in my room to make sure I was okay. She really made the experience for me!
Before the trip, I received an email saying that they had no information for me regarding my flight arrival time etc; I had sent this back in April, so this was frustrating and a little alarming. However, arriving into Bangkok airport Minnie was there with a Tru Travel sign and a huge smile on her face as soon as we walked out. Of the three trips I did this summer, this was by far the easiest and best airport pick up!
Beaches
When booking the 28 day Northern Thailand and beaches trip I did not realise that the group and leader would change for the south/beaches part of the trip. This was not a problem apart from the fact that we arrived a day after the 13 new group members, meaning they already had time to bond and therefore it took a little longer for the group to merge as one. Also, when we arrived into Bangkok on the second day of the tour, on the overnight train, there was a bit of confusion about our pick up, since no one was waiting to collect us with a sign like we had expected when we got there. We had to wait a while to hear where the driver was and then it took a while to find him; I was particularly poorly on this day so this was quite stressful for me. However, once we got to the hotel Gun was extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival. Throughout the tour he made me laugh with his stories and was a lot of fun. I also loved that he had the tru travels badge sewn on his shirts :) - great touch!
The tour was generally much less informative that the North part and there was not a lot about culture; a few more facts about the places we visited would have been great but I appreciate that the North part of the tour is more chilled and party oriented. There was also a lot less in the itinerary - a few more organised activities such as playing volleyball on bottle beach after lunch would have improved the tour itinerary! Also the Muay Thai boxing was amazing, but I felt after 40 minutes that I still wanted to do a bit more.
However, overall the trip was a lot of fun and I loved the trips to bottle beach and Khao Sok National Park! All staff, drivers and group members were super friendly and a delight to be around!

The o oh part I did not enjoy was the jungle trek. It was dangerous and not an enjoyable day. Everyone from my tour fell/slipped and we all made it out with bruises and or cuts. The village we visited at the end of the trek was a great experience, I just wish there was an alternative way to get to it. I enjoyed getting to the top of the waterfalls, even though swimming with the fish was not fun. Great memories, just not that funny at the time. I liked visiting the Chinese village and being able to ride on the Ferris wheel. When the weather didn’t cooperate with us on the day we were set to visit the caves, Minnie came up with alternatives to make up for it. I highly recommend the Northern part for the elephants alone, the rest was just icing on the cake.
The Southern part with Gun was okay, I just wish there was more on the itinerary to do. Besides free time, I feel like the rest of the time was spent traveling to the next destination. The weather and unforeseen circumstances didn’t help with the fact that one temple wasn’t able to get to because of the river closure and the waves being too choppy so snorkeling wouldn’t happen. I loved visiting Khao Sok National Park and staying on the floating bungalows. The views were beautiful and the group was able to bond that day. Bottle Beach was amazing as well, so relaxing and pretty. I wouldn’t recommend doing the Thailand experience only; either pair it with the Northern Thailand Experience or the Island Hopper.

I had Minnie for the Northern part of the Thailand experience tour. She was an amazing leader. She gave so much information and history about all of the places we visited. She was very organised, friendly and made an effort with everyone in the group making sure that everyone was having a good time. Even after the tour Minnie was more than happy to answer any questions.
The Northern Thailand tour itinerary was jam packed. There was loads of activities planned for everyday, the floating markets and elephant sanctuary was my favourite. The itinerary was very flexible, we managed to do all the activities in Pai in one day opposed to two, so we were able to have a rest day - this was much needed as the tour is very full on - I definitely got my value for money.
Thailand Experience
I had Gun for the second part of the Thailand tour. Gun was a good leader - he tried his best to make everyone happy and ensured that everyone was okay. He was really fun to be around, kept good energy in the group and socialised with everyone. Really liked that Gun had sewn the trutravels badge onto his shirts - thought it was a really nice touch and professional. There was a bit of confusion regarding picking us up from the train station on the first day as there was no taxi to collect us, however after calling Gun it was quickly resolved.
For the beaches part of the tour the accommodations were amazing. The national park stay and bottle beach were my favourite. Compared to the northern Thailand tour, the south tour was much more relaxed. It was nice to have a more chilled itinerary, however it would have nice to do a few more activities. Even though the weather wasn’t the best I still had the best time and alternative activities were arranged if we were no longer able to do certain activities because of the weather.
Overall the Thailand experience tour was amazing, I would highly recommend anyone to do this trip!

I met Minnie really easily at Bangkok airport with another girl on my tour and she drove us back to the hotel. Minnie was very informative and put updates in a group chat. From the get go, there was a lot of travelling so if you suffer from travel sickness then this might not be the tour for you as you may struggle with overnight trains or long car journeys on windy roads (especially to Pai!). The travelling though was really good as we felt as if we were getting our money worth with the amount we saw of Thailand and all the activities we did. Minnie gave a huge amount of detailed information at the different temples and told us all about the history and culture of Thailand. Minnie is also so funny and so easy to get along with! Would highly recommend this trip to anyone, you have the opportunity to learn a lot about the culture and history but still have opportunities to go out and drink also.

I had Gun as a tour guide for the beaches part of the trip (Thailand Experience). Similarly to Minnie, we were added to a group chat by Gun while we were in the north so we were informed about the trip before starting. Despite being ill for for first few days I did really enjoy this trip especially after the Northern trip as it is a lot more chilled. There aren’t as many activities which would have been nice to bond more as a group however the places you travel to are stunning. The only negative from the trip was that there was a bit of confusion getting picked up from Bangkok station after Chang Mai but this was quickly resolved after ringing Gun. Overall I have really enjoyed though and would definitely recommend if someone is more interested in chilling while travelling Thailand. Gun has been a really good tour leader and I felt like I could speak to him about anything!
If you do go on this tour (Northern Thailand and Beaches) then do be aware that the first two weeks is very busy and there is a lot of travelling however after the north it is very chilled. Also you might need to be aware that the tour is split into two, two weeks in the tour with one tour guide (Minnie) and one week with another (Gun) so overall the tour is heavily focused on the North of Thailand.

It was brilliant that we had them to rely on but they also let us make our own plans and activities if we wished to do so. The 14 day island hopper tour was great because we got to see loads of Thailand in such a short space of time and enjoy plenty of activities which were extremely well organised! We did boat parties, beach resorts, boat trips, snorkelling, kayaking, bar crawls, viewpoints and cabaret shows! None of it would be as amazing without scotty and Gun who are leggeenndss and you would be very lucky to have them taking your tour!!!!

I would primarily like to begin by affirming that scotty is probably the most genuine and down to earth human I have ever met on this planet. Scotty’s attitude was absolutely tremendous. He is funny, charismatic and would always bring a smile to my face (even just the sight of his face made me happy). Scotty too also exhibited excellent knowledge of Bangkok and the islands which lay within the Surat Thani province. I believe that he would be an excellent tour leader for Trutravels and I really do hope that Trutravels offer him the promotion which he fully deserves. Starting in Bangkok, it was a great start to the tour with a group dinner and nights out in the capital, and some crazy experiences on Khaosan Road (have you ever tried scorpion on a stick?)
We have the opportunity to go to the sky bar and have dinner in one of the tallest buildings in Bangkok, and to see a cabaret show, both of which were great fun.
The over night train to our next destination was a bit of a new experience but our accommodation was amazing. Our stay at the floating bungalows in Khao Sok National Park was just stunning, a really beautiful place with the opportunity to kayak and swim around the banks. We even were lucky enough to spot some brown monkeys on one of the banks while we were kayaking!
Our journey to Koh Phangan was eventful to say the least, people who get sea sick, make sure you take a sickness tablet! But the destination Bottle Beach was really special, as we stayed on beach huts right on the sea front. It wasn't ideal weather for us, but the location was still stunning and the fire show on the beach was awesome!
Our second destination on Koh Phangan was the mad monkey hostel where we were met by the lovely hosts, Cerys and Johan. We had 2 nights here, and filled out time with swimming in the pool, going to beach bars in the evening and going on a boat trip in the day time. The boat trip was fantastic, we had the opportunity to go snorkeling and do water sports like going on a banana boat (just the best thing ever!)
Koh Tao was a pretty crazy island! We went on the infamous pub crawl which included a ladyboy show ( a must when you're in Thailand) along with visiting the various bars which was a super fun night (picture evidence has been mysteriously misplaced..). The fire show at the lotus bar is also an incredible experience, and a great night.
The journey to the Phi Phi islands was long, an overnight ferry, a 3 hour car ride and another ferry- but the island is so so worth it. If you have the opportunity to go scuba diving here, please do it- we managed to see a sea turtle and black tip sharks, along with some beautiful corals and marine life. Family dinners and nights out here were lovely and the pool party at the Ibiza hotel was so fun!
We will end our tour in Phuket where we have the opportunity to visit the elephant sanctuary, I am so excited to do this, I absolutely cannot wait!
Although sometimes the travelling has been pretty exhausting, particularly on the overnight train and overnight ferry, the destinations have been so worth it.
All things considered, even though we experienced some bad weather and couldn't do some of the activities, Gun and Scotty always had a back up plan and ensured they made it up with another great activity.
I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to come out here, to the birthplace of Tru Travels. I have fallen in love with Thailand, the place, the people, the culture, and I have made some incredible memories. Thankyou so much ❤️

It was amazing how they were able to arrange and help book extra activities. They helped me book my first try dive in phi phi and it was incredible and gave me the experience of diving with a wild turtle and sharks!!

The activities we did were great and the views everywhere are beautiful. My guides Gun and Scotty were amazing. They were both so helpful in anyway that they could be, whether it was giving information about what activities we were doing during the day or about places we could go to eat and bars to go to afterwards. Gun even introduced me to his friend who does bamboo tattoos so I could get one from someone he trusted and knew. On one of the days we were unable to do a boat trip due to the rough waters but Gun was able to sort out a great car trip around the island for us instead which took us to a great viewpoint and beautiful beach. Scotty is only an intern but he acted like a full on tour guide and was so much fun and tried his best to teach me how to play pool (I very nearly won so I think he did a good job). Have had an absolutely wonderful time which was certainly helped by the vibes Gun and Scotty added to the group.

Our tour Guides Gun and Scotty were incredible. Gun was so professional and always on hand for anything. They were both so easy to keep in contact with and any questions we had they were both able to answer.
It was great that we were able to look at doing extra activities in our own time. They were able to organise a Scuba Diving session for us which was fab as well!
Scotty who was on his internships was a great laugh and so caring towards everyone, he always made sure that we had everything that we needed and always gave out good recommendations.
We got to see some amazing areas of thailand that you wouldn’t go to if you weren’t on the tour. My personal favourite was Phi Phi but all areas were beautiful.
I was recommend to travel with TruTravels by two friends who did the same tour last year and they had the same tour guide as I did. Gun was amazing and lived up to all of the amazing comments I heard from the year before.
As a whole I completed the 27 day Total Thailand Tour with TruTravels and it was definitely the right thing to do.
I would suggest doing the full tour as 2 weeks will never be enough in this beautiful place.

We took a look online at their different tours and with in a matter of days we had booked the Thailand Island Hopper for two weeks. When arrived two days before the trip started and was given a warm welcome by Scotty who was the intern at Tru Travels. He was easily available to speak too and offered us advice on where we should go. Once our tour guide Gun had collected everyone for the airport we got to meet him and spend the day chilling by the pool getting to know our group. Gun was the best your guide we could have possibly asked for he always brought the music and fun!!! Every day no matter what the weather was Gun and Scotty was always there smiling and keeping spirits high! We didn’t always get blessed with the best weather but we knew it was monsoon season in Thailand. Every destination we went too we had ana amazing time there was so many breath taking view at Khao Sok National Park. We spent our time kayaking around the park and watching the monkeys. Each location had something new to offer.
Scotty was so sweet and kind, at bottle beach two he showed his skills in playing the guitar and shingling some old school classics. I truly believe he helped make the trip amazing!
Gun was definitely the life and soul of the group! He could answer any questions you could possibly have. He made sure everyone knew exactly what the plan was at all time whilst making sure we was all having the best time. Every morning come rain or shine Gun was there ready and waiting to start the day!
I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better two weeks exploring loads on beautiful islands and experiencing so many different activities. This was the best way to truly visit Thailand! I can’t wait till we book our next adventure, and hopefully we get Gun again

In Bangkok…I did the Thailand Island Hopper tour and I must say I had an absolutely amazing time! All the activities and excursions were amazing, and we even had the opportunity to do extra stuff too. In Bangkok you have the opportunity to go to a sky buffet which is where you have dinner in one of the tallest buildings on the 74th floor! You can also go and see a proper ladyboy show which was very good! We could also go scuba diving in Koh Tao or Phi Phi, go to an elephant sanctuary, climb viewpoints... all of which were incredible!
Our tour guide was Gun and we had an intern called Scotty on our tour too. Both of whom were AMAZING; making us all feel so comfortable, we’re really informative and helped us with any extra activities we wanted to do. Gun especially really went out of his way to accommodate us all as we were quite a big group of 20 who all wanted to do different things. He made the long travelling fun, bringing his boom box with him and blasting out songs like Valerie and Teenage Dirtbag. Scotty as well was always smiling and giving us hugs, making sure we were all okay and having fun. On one of the ferry crossings we had some bad weather, which ended up with most of us feeling sick, but scotty was amazing, handing us tissues and sick bags and just genuinely being there to make us feel comfortable.
All the accommodations were amazing too, especially Koh Tao which was my favourite. The pool was incredible! The nights out and dinners were all lovely and really good value for money, Gun definitely picked some good places for food!
I honestly can’t put in to words how much Gun and Scotty made the trip amazing. Yes the places we go to our incredible, but without their guidance I honestly don’t think I would have had as good as experience if it wasn’t for them. I cut my leg on some coral and Gun made sure it was all cleaned up nice and I was okay. We went to a pool party in Phi Phi and Scotty sat with our bags the whole night whilst we were in the pool, which he really didn’t have to do. And so so many more helpful things. If you’re thinking about doing this tour you should! And if you are lucky enough to have Gun or Scotty, prepare yourself for an incredible tour!

I’m so so glad that I chose this tour and that we were so lucky to have Gun and Patrick as our group leaders as they were incredible from start to finish. Whether we needed them day or night they were there, and everything we wanted to know or wanted to do extra they arranged for us (for example half the group wanted to go to Phuket’s Elephant Jungle Sanctuary on the day the trip ended and Gun arranged our tickets transport and everything that it included). Our tour was amazing but I genuinely don’t think it would have been the same without Gun and Patrick’s fun party vibes but also friendly and kind attitude towards making the whole group feel happy and comfortable for the duration of our trip!! Already miss our tru travels fam and would recommend this tour and Gun and Patrick to anybody and everybody it was the trip of a lifetime! Thank you Gun and Patrick, you’ve been the best❤️

As my friend highly recommended to do this trip with TruTravels as they had done a similar one a couple of years ago, I had pretty high expectations of the trip. Safe to say that over the last 16 days, the tour had greatly surpassed my expectations coming into the trip! Our two tour guides, Patrick and Gun, were absolutely outstanding throughout the entire trip. From day one, they made everyone feel welcome to their country, helped everyone in the group bond with each other (we were a big group of 25+), helped with any questions or problems people in the group had, always up for going out drinking with the group, had great recommendations on good restaurants and bars in the area - just generally fantastic tour guides. The group of 25+ that were part of this 16 day tour also made the trip a trip of a lifetime. Everyone was extremely easy to get along with and were just generally really great people. During the 16 days, there had been no arguments or fights within the group which gives testament to how genuinely amazing everyone in the group was and how well everyone got along with each other. The tour itself was very well organized - we were able to visit so many different places and islands within the 16 days. Personal favourite places on the trip were - Khao Sok National Park, Koh Phagnan (Full Moon) and bottle beach was also good fun. Overall, the trip was absolutely amazing. I made so many new great friends and memories on the trip that will last for a lifetime. I would very highly recommend this trip to anybody thinking of going to Thailand for the first time as I had the time of my life. Special thanks to the best tour guides anybody could ask for, Patrick and Gun and to the group that made this trip extra special!

They are the most genuine and fun guys I have ever met and I will miss them greatly. They were great at recommending all the best places to eat and drink as well as sorting any additional activities we wished to do, I can’t thank them enough! As for the tour itself, it could not have been a better organised trip, everything was sorted from start to finish and meant we had nothing to stress about! The activities were all amazing and every place we visited had something different to see or enjoy! My personal favourite was staying at the floating bungalows in Khao Sok National Park

This meant I could relax and enjoy everything. Gun came prepared with a speaker, Gopro and amazing phone to take pictures. He was happy to let us use those to make our holiday better. He made all info and history interesting and fun. Gun helped us organize flights, hotels, diving excursions and taxis and boat for after our tour on his own time. For example he took me down to the diving shop and explained everything, stayed up late to play pool when everyone else had gone to bed, and helped organize and explain travel from Koh Phangan to Bangkok so we could make the most out of the holiday. The photos Gun takes are great as it means everyone can enjoy the experience without concentrating on cameras and phones and relax.

I absolutely loved the 14 day Island Hopper, it contains everything anybody could possibly ask for. From beautiful secluded beaches such as Bottle Beach, to amazing nights out on a crazy pub crawl on Koh Tao. It is incredibly hard to point out specific highlights on a tour like this, where everything is amazing. However, if I had to pick, I would say that Khao Sok National Park is definitely one of the most stunning places I have ever visited. Nevertheless, visiting all these beautiful places would not have been nearly as amazing if it wasn't for our tourguide... Gun was everything we could have asked for and more. Not only did he carry around a heavy Boombox wherever we went just to make sure we weren't bored, he also took us to amazing restaurants, helped us set up loads of activities that weren't included in the itinerary, took amazing pictures of us throughout the tour and made sure we all felt safe at all times. Even a week after the tour finished he is still helping me plan my journey through Thailand. I could not have wished for a better tour and tour guide and would recommend TruTravels to anybody looking for an amazing trip!

Gun went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing time; from being our personal photographer to on request singer, he kept everyone in high spirits, while making sure everything ran smoothly. He kept us well informed of the day-to-day running of the tour, making sure everyone was on time and well prepared for each activity via our facebook group chat. His knowledge of each location and activity was fantastic as well, whether we had questions on culture or needed alternative places to eat, Gun had all the answers.
His engaging personality made it easy to approach him with any issue or query and his energy and enthusiasm for his job made sure we all had an amazing time! Gun even accompanied us on our nights out and extra activities to make sure we had the best trip possible, despite having no obligation to do so. He even provided the soundtrack to our tour, carrying his boom-box to each location, and providing his own unique rendition of his favourite songs. Couldn't have asked for a better guide and would 100% recommend him to anyone willing to travel!

All the accommodation was good,always had water provided,wifi,comfy beds and nice showers,I couldn’t complain about any of the places we stayed.Even at bottle beach the little hut we stayed in was all part of this amazing experience!! I enjoyed the meals included,especially on all of the boat trips,very good food and I was always full afterwards!! The best part of the tour was definitely our guide Gun, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if we didn’t have him! Gun is always ready to go out and he’s just full of energy! He’s such a lovely genuine guy, really caring and just so much fun to be with. Gun is by far the best tour guide ever and I think we will all miss him very much. He’s given us some great memories that we will all treasure forever. Once upon a time, my first trip out of 3 months was in Thailand. The airport pick up was so easy and straight forward and I felt safe straight away. Gun invited me down from the hotel room to talk wit…Once upon a time, my first trip out of 3 months was in Thailand. The airport pick up was so easy and straight forward and I felt safe straight away. Gun invited me down from the hotel room to talk with the other people in our group and I immediately felt welcome and made conversation. It was clear from early on how much Gun cares about his job. Each day he would send in our Facebook group chat what we were doing and the times for meet-up He always made sure we were safe, where we were going, what we were doing. As well as being amazing at organising everybody, he brought a funny atmosphere everywhere we went so that every activity was enjoyable no matter what the circumstances were , if people were hungry or tired or hot, he made sure you knew the next step wasn’t far away. I really enjoyed how Gun brought a boom box with him so that we could all listen to music together and sing along throughout all the long journeys (even if we did hear him sing Valerie 200 times). All the GoPro photos he took were AMAZING and made the trip so memorable for everybody, especially cool underwater photos and group selfies everywhere. The Half Moon Party in Koh Pha-ngan was so much fun, Gun arranged meet up times which reassured everyone as there were so many people there. After the tour, Gun helped me plan the next part of my trip throughout Thailand and gave me really good advice about where to go including transport advice. Throughout our travelling days, Gun would tell all of us stories and give us history of Thailand which I found so interesting. Without Gun I wouldn’t have had the experience in these 8 days that I’ve had. He goes above and beyond in his job and makes sure everybody is having the best time at all times, even if it means him having to work twice as hard! Nothing he has done for me has gone unnoticed and I truly believe my life has been changed for the better and my mind opened to Thailand. Thank you Gun for the experience of a lifetime!!! ❤️

Accommodation in every location was clean, tidy and a nice place to stay.
The transport was always on time and we were able to try different methods of travelling as we normally fly (laziness).
Above all of this was Gun. He goes above and beyond to help out and make your trip the best it can be, always with a smile on his face and even after the tour has finished he was still more than willing to help us.
Overall the tour is a great experience but Gun definitely makes it what it is.

He always had new ideas and he always involved everybody. He always made sure that we have nice pictures and nice memories. He is been a good example for Whisky as well. I felt supported and safe with my guide Gun. The impression he gives is that he really like his job and taking care of his customers. Thank you! Whisky made so many improvement throughout the trip. I can honestly say I have had the best experience of my life. I came on this tour not knowing anybody - by myself - also being the oldest member of the group - i needn't have worried. I came on this tour not knowing anybody - by myself - also being the oldest member of the group - i needn't have worried. I've been made to feel part of the group by everyone. Initially there was some confusion @ the airport when I arrived however Gun made me feel so safe and paid for a cab from the airport to the hotel and then paid for dinner which he didn't have to do. He answered any & all questions as honestly & promptly as possible - he has been patient, funny, understanding - he has been with us pretty much the whole time & if he wasn't, we could always contact him. I have has so much fun, I can't even begin to explain. I cannot "big him up" any more, he is honestly an absolutely fantastic tour guide & I would love to do a tour with him again. Value for money amazing - places of stay were good considering the price. The tour ahs a good balance of relaxation and balance - ooh it's making me slightly emosh writing this & everyday I've woken up smiling - literally want time to stop still & never end this experience. The tour itself was incredible, taking us to some of the most beautiful places in the world. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The guides were always making sure we knew what we were doing and when. They were both some of the most friendly people I have ever met.

Some of my favorite have to be staying in the floating bungalows in Khao sok, Something i don't think i would have gotten the change to experience if i wasn't on the tour. I also love our boat trip in PhiPhi where we went to monkey beach ad snorkelling, as well as the Koh Phangan boat trip. All of our nights out were so fun too, and our group dinner were lovely as well. Gun and Everett are both so brilliant at this job. Gun is so funny, helpful and so knowledgeable. any question we had he always could answer. he went above and beyond what he had to do. Everett was so so funny. He was really good at involving everyone and making us feel comfortable, but was also serious when he needed to be. The itinerary and organization of the trip was super! i really felt like i could experience them all over again if i could.

Despite from the overuse of a special Amy Winehouse song, which I probably can't hear anymore for the rest of my life (joking), they were super entertaining, friendly, organised, f*****g crazy but also caring if u got a problem (shoutout to the crying guy who is getting married love u mate). The activities on the tour have been fantastic we've been to markets (food and shopping) and saw the most amazing beaches and sunsets. Guns knowledge about the culture and the island where we have been is extensive. There was not even one question he couldn't been answering. Gun and his boom box haha xx entertains us all the time that we're never get bored. The transportations are always in time and comfy even the 17 h train ride without aircon was a lot of fun and brings me experiences. Can't wait to get on another tour. GUN make the tour memorable I will keep this tour forever in my mind. It was my first time in Thailand and I didn't expect that it will be the best time of my life. Gun showed us the best places and restaurants all over Thailand and he also gave us a authentic insight in the Thai culture by giving us a lot of information about the country, the people and the places we visited.
It was definitely the best holidays I’ve ever had and the only bad thing was that it had to end.

However, the experience surpassed all of my expectations and was even better than I could have imagined due to the tour guides, Kuntapol (Gun) and Everett. Gun is an incredible, genuine person who provides insight into Thailand as well as laughs and entertainment. He is a very reassuring person often speaking to my worried Mam on FaceTime. Going the extra mile like that was reassurance that he was an exceptional guide and also a great friend. He really made the tour special.

He made sure each and every one of us were having a good time and were safe whilst doing so. Though we couldn't do everything that was on the itinary, due to the weather, Gun made sure that something else was arrangened and that were happy.

I was very upset to learn that we would be getting a new group for our islands tour which did not live up to the expectations set by Kuntapol. I do not think TruTravels is the best company to book with: their pre-departure communication was terrible (at no fault to the guides). Also it was not clear that our 21 day tour actually consisted of 2 separate tours. Like I said we were disappointed to receive a new group and guides for the islands portion after forming great relationships on the northern tour. Since we had to travel from the north, we also missed some activities on the first day of the beaches tour. The beaches tour involved too much travel, we never stayed at one location for longer than 24 hours and the accommodations did not seem worth the money we paid. Despite the subpar islands tour (which probably would have been excellent if Kuntapol was our guide), I will book again with TruTravels just to hang out with my friend Kuntapol.

We all pretty much became family during the 14 days and the only hard part of the tour was leaving because by the end, it didn't feel like I was feel like I was saying goodbye to my tour guide, but I was saying goodbye to my brother. Super caring towards each and every member of the group and ensured that we were all happy throughout the entire trip. It did not at once feel like we were travelling with tour guides, but instead with like minded people who wanted to explore this beautiful country, as a group we all got on extremely well which made saying goodbyes very hard. I can definitely say I have made some of the most memorable memories on this trip and I was lucky to have these two such inspiring tour guides!!

Khao Sok national park was amazing, and I loved quad biking through the jungle - this should definitely be added to the tour permanently.
This is definitely a bit of a party tour, but its ok not to drink, - you don't feel left out at all. !

From the day I booked this trip, Tru Travels and their tour guides have seamlessly made travelling half way across the world an extremely easy experience.
Upon arriving in Bangkok I met up with our primary tour guide Colin. Any questions I had with respect to accommodations right down to recommendations for a good food joint were answered promptly. He was super friendly, always up for an adventure, and possibly more excited than I was to meet the rest of the group and to begin the tour.
Our Thai guides, Steve, Gun, and Itchy were awesome as well. They were so full of energy, downright hilarious, and loved sharing their stories with myself and the rest of the group. They taught us about Thai culture, their religion, and history about each scheduled destination. Their passion to teach others about the thailand ways could be felt in each story they told.
Although some of the scheduled destinations were cancelled due uncontrollable circumstances, all four of these guides made sure that an activity equally as fun took it’s place. Ensuring the group and each individual was getting the most out of this trip was the top priority for each one of these guides. Colin, Steve, Gun and Itchy, thanks for making this trip one to remember. It will be a hard one to top.

I owe this wonderful experience to our tour guides Colin, Steve, Gun and Itchy who became more than just our tour guides they became our friends and family. These men with the time they spent with us went out of there way to help, educate and ensure we seen and did everything we wanted to do and see. They were so welcoming and friendly and made us all feel so comfortable and safe at all times. I would even say we tested their limits when 25 people all wanted different meals etc and they always pulled through and we were all always happy and satisfied and most importantly laughing. I can’t credit these four men enough for the experience and memories they have given us. Forever thankful. The tour is great value for money and you get what you put into it. Jump in and get involved. The balance between chill days and activities was great it gave you the chance to catch up on sleep or visit places or do extra activities, the guides always helping to organsise and arrange extra activities. I couldn’t have asked for a better deal or company, would recommend to everyone to do this trip and just embrace every single part of it because you’ll miss it when it’s over.

Sadly Steve left us after 8 days but we gained Gun, so many funny amazing memories with all guides as well as Itchy that came to Koh Tao and Phi Phi and Phuket with us also. I have only the highest praise for all these guys who made the trip unforgettable. Colin was our group leader and I couldn’t fault him or any of the other guys; he was always on the lookout for something for us to do and consistently balanced having a good time with making sure everyone was safe and catered for. Also just a really sound guy. Steve and Gun were our Thai speaking guides and they were both awesome too! If you’re one to stay up to early hours of the morning then you’ll love these guys (but you would anyway). All these guys were so friendly, helpful and never posed a problem to anyone in the group - 5 stars for them!
The trip was incredible and I wouldn’t take it back for the world, but I felt the monetary value of the trip wasn’t quite justified by all of the activities that were (and weren’t) included. If you’re not on a budget then you’ll be fine, but be prepared to spend a lot more on the trip than the tour price. We were also slightly frustrated when booking the trip, that the payment system wouldn’t work on Black Friday weekend with the 25% discount, so when we came to booking it, we lost out and were refused the deal profusely by TruTravels, meaning we couldn’t afford the 23 day tour, only the 13 days.
Apart from those small things, however, this was the trip of a lifetime and I really can’t recommend it enough. (Although if you don’t like drinking, the Full Moon tour probably isn’t for you). 9/10 from me!

My favourite spot had to be the floating bungalows at khao sok national park. As a very secluded place in the middle of paradise it gave the group a great time to bond over activities and games which has brought us closer together and has enabled us to create great memories and friends for life.

We saw some wonderful places and had fun. The only down side to the tour was that it wasn't very well planned. I understand that stuff was happening and all that but i wish there was a better way of knowing what was suppose to be happening and having an itinerary with times would have been nice. Colin, Steve and Gun were amazing guides and they were amazing to hang around with!

Dean and Gun were the most amazing tour guides ever! They didn‘t treat us as costumers or guests, but as friends and always did everything to make us feel comfortable, if it was about changing room arrangements, choosing restaurants, ir just making us smile while being hangover ;) No matter what, they were motivated and you could feel that they love what they‘re doing and because of that they are doing it so well!
The tour itself was the perfect combination of historical sights and fun and partying and I couldn‘t habe chosen it better on my own.
I made awesome friends during this time, who feel now like family and will miss them (especially Gun and Dean) and this amazing time :)

The guides were awesome. Trying to organise 25 people is not an easy job and they did it so well, always with a smile and a bit of banter which you don't get with the other tours. You actually felt like the guides wanted to hang out with you and not that it was just a job. Thanks for an amazing two weeks guys!

By visiting most of the historical locations such as the magnificent temples (Angkor Wat) built in the 12th century to the killing fields and S-21 really gives you some kind of understanding how great the Cambodians can be under the right leader and the tragedies the Khmer people have been through. My favourite aspect of the tour was our leaders; Dean and ***Kunt***apol. They were the most humble, lovely and caring people my partner and I have met on our trip so far. They always went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and included in the activities that we were doing. They were very professional at their job when it required them to be but at the same time constantly kept the group's vibe positive. I hope they are partners in more Cambodia tours or other tours as they work exquisitely well with each other. I would like to say thankyou to you both for showing me how beautiful, rich and the best Cambodia has to offer! You guys will always be my long life friends! To be honest, I am always skeptical of tours, especially as a couple, and was concerned it may just be revolved around booze, but this trip was 100% awesome from start to finish. An awesome group of people, with the perfect mix of history and sightseeing, adventure, fun, partying and chill out time. We made so many life long friends and learnt so much. Dean and Kun absolutely made our trip the best it could have been, we truly couldn't have asked for more attentive, hilarious and knowledgeable guides who went above and beyond for every single person on the tour. They were an awesome team together; they answered all our questions, always created an awesome vibe, which brought the whole group together. They made sure no one was left out or having a less than amazing time! As well as being so much fun, they were super professional at all times and their passion for their jobs is so clear to everyone that meets them. Thank you so much for not only being awesome tour leaders but for now being great friends of ours too. We made so many great memories and would reccomend this tour to anyone - solo, with friends or even in a couple! Dean and Kun made us all feel like family from the start, you can see the love and passion they have for their job and customers which is refreshing to see.
The whole tour was amazing, from the visits, accommodation, restaurants, bars etc everything that was planned was 10/10.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see Cambodia with an amazing bunch of people. The people on this tour i know will be friends for life and I personally can not wait until we meet again. Thank you to everyone involved especially Dean and Kun. Love you guys xx

On the trip I went on transportation went smoothly and it helped loads the fact the guides would tell us what to expect and what to take so we were always prepared which made moving around so smooth. Even the 16 hour train journey was fun! Accommodation surprised me the most with how lovely it was especially it Koh Sok and Phi Phi. I was doing the 18 day trip and went alone but never once felt alone on the whole trip!! Would so recommend

After realizing what was going on, I tried to inquire as to the schedule so I could plan my own activities with my buddy during our downtime. We could not even receive a clear response. Ultimately, we returned to places after the trip ended and had a real experience (royal barge, crematorium, palace, night clubs, etc. We even slept on the crappiest of trains while going south to a deserted bottle beach. At best, the tour was a waste of time. At one point, we even needed to take care of our tour guide because he got fucked up. He took a bunch of drugs and the whole group needed to nurse him back to health. Ultimately, this didn't really ruin the evening because, similar to the rest of the trip, the evening was a bore. My trip was only good once the tour ended and I did my own thing. And all the accommodations were shitty too.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport to our final goodbye, Lawrie and Kuntapol made our trip memorable and enjoyable. They made a bad start into a fun new adventure.

There’s quite a bit of travelling on the tour itself but the journey is totally worth it - Koh Tao and Koh Phi Phi are personal favourites.
Overall, my group were amazing and the places were paradise - only disappointment was coming home! Much love for this tour, I’d definitely recommend!
Tour was excellent.
Enough activities to do aswell as a nice resting period.
The tour guides (Gum, Patrick and Delaney) were simply spectacular: helpful and entertaining.
Would recommend.
