About me:I'm tour guide Barbie (fo' real) and I try my best to carpe each and every diem. An overachiever of sorts, I go ahead and try to carpe noctem while I'm at it. Despite my mother's advice, I love talking to strangers and chasing curiosities. Adventuring, writing, learning, eating ice cream, and pushing past old comfort zones are a few of my favorite things. I hope we cross paths so you can participate in all of the aforementioned funtivities and some more with me!

This was my first time going to Vietnam but i couldn’t think of no else better then Barbie to go with! The places we visited were all brilliant in their own way and the included activities were so varied and let me experienceso many different things. Barbie was very honest with us at the start that it was also her first time in vietnam but we were so lucky to have Nguyen Bich (aka Sunny!) as our Vietnamese expert! She gave us so much insight into the culture and helped us with translating in difficult situations. Barbie is the most vibrant, colourful, fun person I think I have met and her energy definitely ensured we all had a fantastic time!! Only things to improve on the tour would be better accommodation in Ho Chi Minh and Hue and maybe change around some of the days of activities to fit better with long journeys/night buses.

It really was an amazing 12 days experiencing Cambodia for the first time. Barbie and Freddie were so fantastic at their jobs, always keeping us informed and ready for the adventure ahead. I would recommend this tour for anyone conferring Cambodia as it’s so fun to travel as a family together. I felt like Barbie was one of my friends rather than a tour guide and super sad it’s all over now. It would of been nice to stay in other places other than Mad monkey as it’s very loud noisy party hostel and when you don’t want to party you can’t sleep. Also the transport buses we got were awful. Air con not working, drivers who didn’t know where they were going and buses turning up without enough seats. I expect that from Asia but I just thought as I was on a tour a higher standard of buses/drivers would have been booked for us. However the people I was with and the whole experience was amazing so stuff like that is easily forgotten. Big love Tupac’s cookie crew x

Always providing details and directions of how to get around and what to do and see in each area we visited.

Our tour guides Barbie Virgo and Nicky Montri can not be praised enough, there enthusiasm was infectious and went above and beyond there role to make everyone’s experience one they will never forget. The tour was none stop and always kept moving which I enjoyed, my personal highlight being the Jungle trek, which is a bit more physically demanding than stated, and the Elephant sanctuary I couldn’t get that smile of my face. There were so many things that we done on the tour that I would never have considered doing and so glad I did. So if your wanting to experience the real Thailand and have the most incredible time creating memories this is a must do. There is other tour like it.

Becki & Heidi usually take care over email and they’re always incredibly helpful and patient (I had 5 million questions) and they answered every one with much insight. I was really lucky to have two excellent guides Bee and Barbie. They got in contact well in advance of my trip to give me helpful information and guidance and answered any question I had about coming away on my first holiday as a solo traveller.
The group I joined was a small one and every person I met was lovely. After only a short 8 day together I feel that I have now made some great friends who I hope to see in the future.
The Tour that Bee and Barbie took us all on was amazing. We had a few fun nights out and sightseeing tours around the temples in Bangkok to start. Then experienced the overnight train on the way to koh Sok national park. This place was my favourite part of the trip, The water bungalows, beautiful scenery and calmness there was just unbelievable. I didn't want to ever leave.
We travelled then to Koh Phangan and stayed at an amazing beach front bungalow. It was another fun night where the staff put on a great fire show on the beach for us.
Bee and Barbie really did look after us all, when we asked if we could change one of the activities to allow us to go the 'Challenge' water park. They organised this for us straight away, nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
As a solo traveller I was made to feel incredibly welcome and I wouldn't hesitate in booking another Tru travels tour or recommending them to my friends and family.
Aswell as Bee and Barbie I also have to thank our guide in training Papsi who's infectious laugh and expertise with a camera topped off a brilliant adventure.
I can not wait to to back to Thailand. ☺

We had the most amazing trip doing the 23 day full moon tour! The floating bungalows, bottle beach and Railey are definitely my fave and a must see. The whole experience was incredible! The whole experience was incredible! We met some amazing people including our tour guides Ron and Mickey. They were both brilliant and experianced. Ron was always around and made an effort with the whole group, it was a pleasure to have him as our tour guide! Mickey was also brilliant and such a character, again a pleasure to have him as our tour guide! Ron had to leave our tour for another so barbie joined us for our last week; she was a little spiritual ray of sunshine and an excellent help.
The only negative was spending 8 days in Koh Phangan at Echo Beach, it was far too long and you had to pay for taxis almost everywhere unless your trip out was included and specified in your tour. Echo beach was lovely and the staff were pleasant but 3-4 days there is plenty!
Overall a fantastic trip and we will be returning to Thailand in the future
Tour went very good with our guides they were so helpful and knowledgeable about the location. Would love to travel with them in future.

Mickey was an incredible tour leader, his enthusiasm is infectious, he is caring and knowledgable and was always working hard to improve our trip. Ron was always relaxed, helped us bond and brought us together. He went the extra mile when a group member went to hospital and it meant a lot to all of us. Barbie opened us up to a real traveller attitude, her passion was inspiring and she helped maintain an amazing vibe in our group.
The activities are great, but I would've liked some more exposure to Thai culture and food. There were also times when we were given wrong information about when we were leaving where, and I would've preferred more time in Phi phi and Railay, and less time in Phanang as we were there a long time.
Overall though, this trip has been amazing and I'm so glad I chose it.

We did so much in a short space of time, while also being given the time to relax and do nothing when needed. Travel was made easy and we didn't have to worry about anything.
Mickey was always 100mph in a good way, enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgable. Ron was always relaxed, easy going, and really helped bring us together as a group, easing everyone's travelling needs. He went the extra mile for a group member when she had to stay in hospital which meant a lot to all of us. Barbie was always fun, introduced us to Thailand from the true perspective of an open minded traveller and her enthusiasm was infectious.
The only criticism I would have is that we were sometimes given incorrect information about when we were leaving where and when. I would prefer less time in Phanang, to add another day in railay and Phi Phi.

It’s a very full on 2 weeks as it includes SO much but we started a 3 month adventure with this trip so wanted to throw ourselves in at the deep end to make the most of our time away. Such good value for money and you’ll have the best time! The amount of time and effort you save from not having to book/plan all of the activities is so worth it. So many memories made with a great group.

So welcoming, warm, easy to get along with but most importantly knew how to have a good time. The whole tour was a perfect mix of culture, beauty and party. Thailand is such a beautiful place and the whole experience was made so much more memorable due to our two amazing tour guides bee and Barbie. Really could not have asked for more from them. They went out of there way to make our whole experience as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about booking up. Absolutely everything was taken care of from booking hotels, transport, food, drink and best places to go. This meant all the usual hassle and stress of sorting these things out was home and we could just sit back and enjoy. Visited some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, met some incredible people and honestly had the best time. Thank you Barbie and bee for every thing. Truly an amazing experience I will remember forever.

All accommodation was clean and from average to really nice places to stay in. The trip makes sure you get to see all the best bits of Thailand.. My tour guide Barbie was great! She was so much fun and helped make my experience what it was.. my other tour guide pimm I can't rate enough..she can tell you everything you want to know about Thailand also felt safe at all times with pimm aswell! Both tour guides went above to make sure we all had a great time. I would reccomend tru travels.

Trutravels is too expensive, some of the accommodations were terribly dirty. I wouldn't go on another tour with Trutravels.

The trip was insane and so much more than I was expecting! Having booked onto the 14 day Full Moon Experience tour i was expecting lots of great things and fun activities to do from the itinerary, but…The trip was insane and so much more than I was expecting! Having booked onto the 14 day Full Moon Experience tour i was expecting lots of great things and fun activities to do from the itinerary, but what we received was so much more! Thanks to both of my AMAZING tour guides Barbie and Bee who managed to make the trip the most unforgettable two weeks of my life, always going above and beyond to make each day the best it could be. From the activities planned, they arranged extra ones on top that our group wanted to do on our chilled days to make the trip even more packed. The accommodation during the trip was great considering we were staying in a variety of places and changing every few days, but from the double beds in floating bungalows, cabins on the cute bottle beach to the entire tour group being in one room at echo hostel (which honestly was the funnest of them all) there was no fault. Each place we visited was diverse and culturally unique which made our stay at them so special. From the business of Bangkok and it's surroundings of the religious temples, the serenity of Khao Sok National Park which felt like you had stepped into another Jurassic world hours from civilisation to Kho Phangan, the party island, with the most gorgeous white sandy beaches and laid back living style, each place we visited felt like it couldn't top the last. Thailand is beautiful for any type of adventure you are looking for. The activities in each of these places were topped with the enthusiasm and team spirit provided by Barbie and Bee with no pressure and leaving you the options to do what you wanted and at your own pace. Each and everyday was amazing in the countdown to the final party with the chilled days at the beach, to exploring what the islands had to offer. The full moon party was insane and nothing like I had experienced before, of which was a fantastic end to our group together with our tour family. At the end of the trip I don't think anyone wanted to leave but the memories from this tour will last a life time!! Barbie is an unique and gorgeous individual with the biggest heart, always looking to have a blast, enjoy her time with you and ensure you have the bestest experience when in her company. Bee is the sweetest person you will ever meet!! The best Thai tour leader you could have asked for, always knowing the answers, arranging us all at the best of times and being the most down to earth person you could meet. Thank you both for the incredible trip of a lifetime around Thailand, the best thing I have ever booked to do! X

Such a good tour, the way that they run the group was perfect! If anyone wanted to do something extra (e.g. Go to a muai Thai fight) they would organise it for you with no hesitation! There was no pressure to do anything you didn't want to do either! I cannot praise them enough, the whole of our group just wanted to bring them both back to the UK with us! Barboe is a extremely fun individual with some seriously sick skills who loves a good night out. Bee is the cutest person you will ever meet FACT, legit the nicest person you will ever meet! The tour itself is insane, the things you do are incredible. The national park is my favourite place on earth, so peaceful! Koh phangan is amazing, bottle beach is beautiful where you stay in huts on the beach which is quite incredible! The food on the trip is amazing throughout! There is no pressure to drink although you can drink like an absolute boss if you want to! Don't even hesitate to book this trip! It's amazing! We were very lucky as this trip coupled with the best leaders you could ask for made it the best tour we could have asked for!

She is a true leader with an energy that is fierce and contagious and became more of a friend than guide. She treats everyone with the same level of respect and is probably one of the most beautiful souls I've encountered on this earth! She made our full moon experience one to remember for sure! We were Barbie's first tour however, you would have never guessed as her spirit is so vibrant and fun and she goes out of her way to make your experience one of a kind! Having Barbie as a tour leader was like having your best friend make the best decisions on places to go and things to see without the added pressure of having to. The itinerary was laid back and really created the perfect balance of culture and partying in Thailand. I am so grateful we got to be her first group and I would most definitely go on tour with this gal again! Barbie will make anyone's experience vibrant and exciting and I thank her for the fun she brought to our tour!
