Great communication throughout the whole journey including before and after the tour. All the accommodation was always clean and located well, it varied so much depending on the location from treehouse-style to hotels. The tour offered such a variety of activities which provided a great snapshot of what Sri Lanka has to offer; from climbing Little Adams Peak to dining and cooking with a local family. CJ and Dean were amazing guides and provided so much fun and knowlegde to tour! I had the most amazing time and would recommend to all travellers out there.

The best bit for me personally was - besides the incredible exeprience - the Safari at Udawalawe as well as the glamping. There is such an amazing experience to see all the animals in the National Park within this guided tour, especially with the accommodation at the glamping site - very very cool!
Second best - overall experience was the Temple of Tooth, especially with all the great explanations by our incredible local guide Kanchana, at the temple with the ceremony of the monks - GREAT!

My highlight was 100% the Safari at Udawalawe national park. Worth it for the 5am start.

I have learned so much about the Sri Lanka culture and particularly enjoyed meeting and cooking with the locals. It has been a real eye opener and made me appreciate so much more in life.
Could not have asked for a better group or group leaders. I have made friends for life and will definitely come back in the near future.

Ah where to start - first of all I love how the guides brought everyone together. I really liked second accommodation and the extra things the guides arranged for us besides the itinerary (massages etc).
The cooking class was also lovely as the family showed so much hospitality and let us dive deep into their lives and home.
Then the climb up Little Adam's Peak was fascinating - we had an exhausting night :) as we went out in Ella but we were so fit and made it to the top!
But my absolute favourite highlight was the Safari and the glamping site. We saw so many different animals and our guide could recognise so many different birds.
Thank you so much - it was an absolute amazing trip and great experience.
If I done this on my own, I would have never managed to arrange so many things on my own.
Ps - the Temple of Tooth was also breathtaking experience where we could participate in giving honour to Buddha and seeing the monks ceremony.

I know I come with this guys will be the best because I went to Thailand trip with Dean and TruTraval! This company have a different style of backpack tour. It’s not what I expected to have it’s above and beyond than that. The tour was so organized and Dean and Same make us feel so safe in anyplace and restaurant the highlight of this trip is the Sigiriya mountain we have to get up early but it’s wart it to go up there and enjoy all the view and history. They give us a lot of information and history in everywhere we go all is interesting for me to learn another culture. The trip was so organized and run smoothly. Thank you Den and Same again for another amazing time of my life and I can’t wait to start my new journey with Trutravels in India is my next destination!!!

I was a little worried about the Sigiriya rock hike but it actually turned out to be my favourite day and the safari getting up close and personal with elephants was such an amazing experience ❤ I can't recommend TruTravels or Sri Lanka tour enough!

Thailand is such an amazing and beautiful country and Truravels has made it so much better. The tour guides Dean and Papsi and some of the most fun and nicest people I have ever met and I will definitely be keeping in contact with them and wish the best of luck working with Trutravels, I am sure they will do very well.
My favourite part of the whole experience was the people I have met, the bungalows at Khao Sok National Park and Bottle Beach.
The experiences along the way have been life changing and remembered forever both the compulsory and non compulsory activities.

The whole trip was amazing but I think my favourite part was visiting Khao Sok National Park and I would recommend this to anyone. The surroundings were absolutely incredible. I think the tour had the perfect mix of activities with razy nights and relaxing or cultural days.
The only suggestion I would make to anyone going onthis tou is to pick the longer one - as you will not want to leave!

They handled all the nitty gritty details easily, even though I know that much planning is NOT easy at all and just for that I am grateful! Their star personalities really kept the whole group up beat and moving to a fun vibe - I wish I could travel them all the time :)
It's not if, but when I come back to Thailand, I hope to run into these two. They made the trip great even when things didn't go perfectly to plan or off schedule, no one cared because we knew would take care of us and that we were still going to have an amazing time. I have travelled on my own before but these two have sold me on group travelling 100%
Any tour they run, I would be glad to go on and recommend to any friend.
Thank you both for the best time - it's one I'll never forget and cherish with me when I'm old and wrinkly and say things like back in my day...!

Had such an amazing time and was great to get settled into travelling. Dean and Papsi have been so helpful throughout helping us to book flights and transfers for after the tour finished which has made travelling a lot less stressful.
Being on the tour helped me to do things I never would have done - like having a monkey on my shoulder and memories I will never forget - like floating in rubber rings at Khao Sok.
It's been so much fun going out with the group and especially at the full moon party, having the upstairs VIP section and the knowing the group were there made you feel a lot safer and enjoy the experience so much more.

It's great how we all came together to party hard, it's pretty tight to have friends for life and can't wait to meet them all again soon. My favourite area was Khao Sok and loved how we got to drink everyday if we wanted.
I haven't been on a wild 2 week party trip before and can't wait for the next one. Would do this again!

There hes never been a dull moment on the 16 days we have been here and the optional extras have all been good ideas and never made me feel like I was forced to join on.
Dean - he is a very funny, down to earth person and obviously he loves what he does. His banter and leadership kept everyone safe and made the trip!
Papsi - The funniest person I have ever met and willing to help you in any way he can. He's very easy to talk to and has made this trip great!

The overnight boat and train definitely made the experience more real.

Our accomodation was generally very good - always in a good location. Our transportation was generally good, especially when using the local transport.
Our itinerary was over packed we were doing something every second of everyday!

Incredible doesn’t even begin to sum up my 8 day thailand tour. I was really apprehensive about booking a tour and travelling solo, the normal panic about not knowing what I was doing, who I would mee…Incredible doesn’t even begin to sum up my 8 day thailand tour. I was really apprehensive about booking a tour and travelling solo, the normal panic about not knowing what I was doing, who I would meet, would I like them and more importantly would they like me played on my mind. However once I’d arrived and met Dean, the tour guide, all my worries were put to rest. He was energetic and engaging and made sure that I was introduced to the group that had arrived. Throughout the whole tour Dean made sure that we, not only had the information we needed but also some top tips to make our tour even more special. Even when the organised activities for the day had finished we all socialised as a group, including Dean and we bonded even more over drinks and laughter. I absolutely loved every part of the trip but my particular highlight was bottle beach, this place is incredible and the hike up to the viewpoint was breath taking, in more ways than one. Also once in Koh Phangan I was introduced to Echo bar and the Echo bomb! The staff in this place make sure everyone in the venue feels like a member of family, especially those travelling with Tru. Overall my time in Thailand was amazing, this tour was the right mix of culture, history and partying and it was made special by the group of people I was with and the knowledge and friendly approach of not only Dean, but all the Tru travels staff that I encountered. It is clear that they all love their job, love the country and love the people around them. I felt privileged to have become part of the Tru family and I am already planning my next tour!

On this trip I have made memories which will last forever. I could not imagine a way in which the tour could be any better.
Dean is a natural - I am going to miss him when I go back to dreary London.
It's really tough to pick my standout moment on this itinerary - if I'm forced to I'd say the boat trip on Koh Phangan was my favourite activity. The snorkelling was excellent, as was Koh Mah beach.
I can't think of anything to make the tour better, the only thing I would wish is that my tour was lomger!

Dean was an amazing tour leader, he made everyone feel super comfortable right from the get go and was always up for a good time. Any tour group would be more than lucky to have him! Plus he went over and above to make sure I had the best birthday of my life which I cannot thank him enough for. 10/10 would do again in a heartbeat!!

Whenever there was down time Dean would have ideas or suggestions of things to do or see.
The tour itself had a great balance of activities, sight seeing and partying. It is quite fast paced but the amount you do in the time is incredible.
Will be going on more trutravel tours next year and I will be booking on Deans tours for sure!

The tour itself was packed with things to do, personally I loved the quad biking in the sand dunes in mui ne and the city hoi an. Would recommend to everybody. Tru travels as a whole made the whole process really easy and straightforward

He went above and beyond to make sure every one of us felt looked after, included and safe in his hands. Our group meshed together like one big family. Dean is a true credit to the TruTravel team who had so many great suggestions for all styles of travel (including before, during and even after the tour). He never failed to make us all laugh with his incredible banter, so much so that I would now even consider him a friend (don’t tell him that). The jeep tour was breathtakingly beautiful; every second spent in Hoi An was a new and interesting experience and quad biking through the sand dunes in Mui Ne is a moment that I will remember for the rest of my travels and beyond. I would happily book another TruTravels tour in a heartbeat - as long as our boy Dean is coming with!

Our tour guide Dean made the trip what it was! If there was ever a free day in the itinerary Dean would always know of something fun or interesting to do or see.
Days were generally packed with stuff to do and there was also time for the occasional chill. Accommodation was brilliant for a backpacking trip and transport wasn’t bad at all.
I had considered not booking a tour and sorting everything out myself; so glad I didn’t! The amount we fit into the 3 weeks was brilliant.
Laughed 24/7 and made friends for life! Will definitely be doing more TruTravels tours and I’ll be makin sure Dean is the guide!

Dean and Gun were the most amazing tour guides ever! They didn‘t treat us as costumers or guests, but as friends and always did everything to make us feel comfortable, if it was about changing room arrangements, choosing restaurants, ir just making us smile while being hangover ;) No matter what, they were motivated and you could feel that they love what they‘re doing and because of that they are doing it so well!
The tour itself was the perfect combination of historical sights and fun and partying and I couldn‘t habe chosen it better on my own.
I made awesome friends during this time, who feel now like family and will miss them (especially Gun and Dean) and this amazing time :)

By visiting most of the historical locations such as the magnificent temples (Angkor Wat) built in the 12th century to the killing fields and S-21 really gives you some kind of understanding how great the Cambodians can be under the right leader and the tragedies the Khmer people have been through. My favourite aspect of the tour was our leaders; Dean and ***Kunt***apol. They were the most humble, lovely and caring people my partner and I have met on our trip so far. They always went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and included in the activities that we were doing. They were very professional at their job when it required them to be but at the same time constantly kept the group's vibe positive. I hope they are partners in more Cambodia tours or other tours as they work exquisitely well with each other. I would like to say thankyou to you both for showing me how beautiful, rich and the best Cambodia has to offer! You guys will always be my long life friends! To be honest, I am always skeptical of tours, especially as a couple, and was concerned it may just be revolved around booze, but this trip was 100% awesome from start to finish. An awesome group of people, with the perfect mix of history and sightseeing, adventure, fun, partying and chill out time. We made so many life long friends and learnt so much. Dean and Kun absolutely made our trip the best it could have been, we truly couldn't have asked for more attentive, hilarious and knowledgeable guides who went above and beyond for every single person on the tour. They were an awesome team together; they answered all our questions, always created an awesome vibe, which brought the whole group together. They made sure no one was left out or having a less than amazing time! As well as being so much fun, they were super professional at all times and their passion for their jobs is so clear to everyone that meets them. Thank you so much for not only being awesome tour leaders but for now being great friends of ours too. We made so many great memories and would reccomend this tour to anyone - solo, with friends or even in a couple! Dean and Kun made us all feel like family from the start, you can see the love and passion they have for their job and customers which is refreshing to see.
The whole tour was amazing, from the visits, accommodation, restaurants, bars etc everything that was planned was 10/10.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see Cambodia with an amazing bunch of people. The people on this tour i know will be friends for life and I personally can not wait until we meet again. Thank you to everyone involved especially Dean and Kun. Love you guys xx

After being in the busy cities of Vietnam and quiet Laos, Thailand was the place I wanted to end my trip with and I'm so glad I chose this tour. The chilled out, peaceful islands, and the craziness of Bangkok and Phuket! I wouldn't of changed any part of this trip for the world. The tour wouldn't of been half as good if it wasn't for my amazing group and amazing tour guides, Dean and Steve. They went above and beyond their job description, they were not just tour guides, they were friends. They made all of us feel special and got to know us all individually, so much so, they probably know my life story! Thank you so much Dean and Steve for making my last few weeks travelling so special. They made me love Thailand so much I am already planning on coming back out early next year!
The overall trip was incredible, I couldn't believe how many included activities there was compared to previous tour companies I have been with! And I couldn't believe everything I did was included in the price! It's still surreal to me that I have done everything I have done and been to places that you see on postcards!
The accommodation was amazing, all of the hotels were so nice, the only one I wasn't a fan of was Phi Phi, but after being in some horrible places, you realise you can't have 5* luxuary everywhere you go, unfortunately!

Tour guides - Steve and dean. Both guys were amazing. Always went that extra bit further to ensure all members of the group were happy and feeling part of a family. When it was free time, amongst the two of them they thought of different ideas to make the experience more enjoyable. Rather than us not being sure of what to do and where to go, they used their own free time to make our time better. Left us with memories we won't forget. They both also went that extra mile to ensure any situations that arose along the way were dealt with and everyone was happy. Really did make us feel like one big family.
The overall trip was fantastic. Loved every minute of it. Loved the activities, locations, accommodation etc. Each day was a new experience which added to the trip. Allowed us to see the sorts of food, accommodation and living conditions there are in Thailand. It gave me the chance to do things I've never done before. See monkeys, kayaking, indoor surfing, snorkelling to name a few. All of which I'll never forget.
The transport was a wide variety and very enjoyable. From the over night train, tuk tuks, ferries, boats, buses etc. It was quite an experience and were easily accessible from our locations.
The accommodation for the 18days varied which I think was rather good. Staying in floating bungalows, hotels, hostels, over night trains and ferries - these all made it extra enjoyable.
Would definelty recommend this trip to friends. Was a trip to remember

From start to finish... getting picked up from the airport by Dean one of our tour guid…The 18 day Thailand Island Hopper was possibly the most amazing, enjoyable and unforgettable 3 weeks of my life! From start to finish... getting picked up from the airport by Dean one of our tour guides really helped calm my nerves of traveling solo and later meeting Steve our other tour guide at the hotel in Bangkok where the fun really started! The Islands visited are truly the most beautiful views I have ever seen and getting to experience this with people who became like family to me made the whole experience even better! Our tour guides went above and beyond to make sure each and every one of us had the most amazing trip we could imagine.
I could not fault the tour, the guides or the people I met along the way and wouldn't hesitate to travel with Trutravels again (if I have Dean and Steve haha :D) lots of love! X

I had the pleasure of spending it with the most amazing people, who were total strangers who became family. Our tour guides, Dean and Steve, were also freaking awesome! Always enthusiastic and energetic, they made our time on the trip unforgettable! Despite some crap weather, questionable modes of transport and ridiculous hangover's they were always upbeat and made the travelling in-between designations so much fun. Without them the trip wouldn't have been what it was! 100% recommend them as guides. Totally missing Thailand right now, considering selling a kidney so I can go back. It was a once in a lifetime kinda trip made mostly by the people we were spending it with!

We did so much from jungle treks, waterfalls to seeing the elephants and zip lining through the jungle, it was an amazing unforgettable experience. Which didn't stop there, the nights out were awesome. Dean always got the group together and organised meals out and found the best bars. Thanks dean for an epic time in Thailand !

It was lovely to have the support of our rep Dean who was always there when we needed him and was very helpful when we needed advice. He ensured we stuck together as a group planning group meals and extra activities that were not included in our itinerary. I would definitely recommend island hopping to all my friends and family as it is one of the most amazing things I've ever done!

Dean was the best tour guide ever as he always made sure we are entratained, informed, ensured there are options for everyone, and tried his absolute best to keep us all happy. The group bonded really well, and most of that was due to the guides experience and constant involvement. Most amazing 18 days ever!!!

He went above and beyond to make our experience as amazing as possible and has now become an amazing friend who we will definitely stay in touch with for a long time. Me and my friend were rather nervous and uncertain about what to expect before this trip as it was our first travelling experience and from the first moment of meeting our tour group and guided our minds were at ease and we felt safe and excited about what was to come. We were able to visit the most remote beautiful places in Thailand and Dean always made sure to give us incredible tips and advice so we never missed anything and got the most from every place we visited. Our Thai tour guide (Pimm) was also incredible and was able to give us incredible information in every place we visited and helped us understand the culture. She was always friendly and happy and keen to always help.
Overall an absolutely incredible experience of a lifetime and I am absolutely devesated for it to end. However I know I have made friends for life that I will stay in touch with for a long time.

Great trip. The only downside was that sometimes there was a lack of organisation and we didn't really know what was going on. Other than that I loved it and Itchy and Dean were great!

Although I was expected to visit more islands (we went to two, with two locations on one of them), it was a fantastic trip! There was a group of 20 of us, continuing after Camp Thailand so we all knew each other previously, but the two reps made us all feel so welcome and did a great job at organising each activity. The reps were also great at helping us learn useful key phrases in Thai (although we did already know some of the basics) and helping to organise extras which we may have wanted to opt in for.
They also organised where we could eat each evening which was lovely and if we ever said we would rather have Thai/Western, they were more than happy to change wherever we were eating or the time in which we went.
Overall, it was a lovely trip which wouldn't have been the same without the reps helping to organise it so efficiently!

Dean and Woody are a good team together also as they have similar funny personalities which made a good fun impact on the group which is what you need! Most important of al felt safe travelling with the reps and would never want us walking alone esp at night. Defo thinking of travelling with tru travels due to how good the reps were .

We had been travelling about Thailand for 3 weeks and were very drained but Dean and Woody put their all into making it a fun experience and bringing the energy back to us, we started in Koh Tao and did things like snorkelling and the pub crawl, then headed to Koh Phangan where we spent a night at the beautiful bottle beach and let off lanterns and had a private fire show. We then headed to the very cool Echo Beach hostel. The week was amazing and was a wonderful end to our time in Thailand!

Dean made my the beaches part of my trip a very special adventure. Right from the very beginning the introduction email to advise he was my guide for the second half of my tour was very welcoming... he went above and beyond the itinerary requirements to make sure we got the best experience of thailand right from Bangkok with the sky tower and dinner, ladyboy show and even a late night stop to the ping pong show... he kept everyone in the know constantly. On the overnight train from Bangkok to the south we shared stories of our previous adventures and life styles...the friendships started building from here on out.. Khan sak national park was a real treat with most of the group partying the night away, kayaking or just soaking up the scenery.. bottle beach was the next stop an amazing hide away... Dean suggested I should eat the Burmese curry for my love of hot spicy food it was the best recommendation ever.. dean was always trying to make sure that the group 34 plus people were intergrating together always making sure that everyone was enjoying themselves... and trying his best to answer all the questions that everyone had..hahha the final stop was Koh Phangan where we did various of activities some also not on the itinerary but suggested by dean for he fullest experiences, these island boat trip with snorkelling and free bar all day.... I checked out of the tour after 8days but still remained on the island for an extra few days and I was able to continue some of the activities that the rest of the group had just by paying the extra to Dean... he helped arrange the Muay Thai boxing and jungle experience for my last night.... he truly is an awesome guide and I will be looking for more of his knowledge when I return to Thailand.... a fantastic guy and definitely a friend for life

He knew all of the best places to party/chill depending on our moods, and he did it with his own style! This was my first tour on my own and I loved every minute of it!
